*DING DING DING*

It has been marked. The beginning of a heart-stopping competition between two brute forces of man, who are ready and willing to tear each other apart for one goal, one prize, the greatest in their organization, quite possibly the most acclaimed title in the industry. Standing tall, the two men begin to circle the ring, measuring up their counterpart's every feature. Showtime gives Blaze the once-over, catching a glimpse of his short blond hairs which stand on end atop his cranium. His tall boots could prove useful for kicks and acrobatic tactics, but these remain to be seen. His stance is tall and proud, full of confidence and swagger, his arms bent neatly at his sides as he prepares to grapple his foe, a man who stands much taller than himself. Showtime stands with muscles that nearly bulge out of his skin. His arms, too, are bent ever so slightly as they remain motionless at his sides. It appears to be quite a mismatch at a glance, but these two men come from decorated backgrounds in both PWA and father federation PWF. Although the two have worked in the same organizations for many years, never have they worked against or even alongside the man they now stand toe to toe with on Insanity. Mounting the courage to face such an intimidating and legendary figure as the Iconic Legend is no small task for Matt Blaze. For a man who has not had a World Title shot in his numerous years as a PWA superstar, he seems to handle it very well, taking deep breaths to prevent himself from hyperventilating under the stress. Had he been given a week’s worth of mental and physical preparation for a match of this caliber, he may be fractionally ready to face the Boston Bad-Ass. He has only been given this evening to prepare, however, and ready or not, the encounter waits. A mild look of worry brings the eyebrows of the Cruiserweight Champion to his forehead, the bushy hairs raised and slightly furled in his uneasiness. A tiny bead of sweat trickles from the buried hairline to his eyebrow, where his hand wipes it away quickly, almost thoughtlessly, before its salty moisture blinds him. They circle the ring as they continue to stare down, the tension slowly rising and reaching immeasurable heights. All at once, the tension creates a cataclysm in the ring, bringing the two men into the center of the ring, even against their own will. A Collar and Elbow Tie-Up brings the two men closer than they ever have been before, as the two have never met in a singles competition. Their arms bulge, the muscles bursting their veins as they utilize every ounce of strength in their upper body, in their pectoral area, their arms, forearms, and even their abdomens. With the severe strength advantage going to Showtime, it takes no more than a few moments and an effortless sweep of his right arm to overtake the cruiserweight, who folds under the strength and pressure set forth by his opponent. The Standing Side Headlock immediately applies pressure to the neck and head of the Cruiserweight Champion, who struggles for oxygen as he is trapped underneath the sweaty and stench-ridden armpit of the World Champion. The pain is mild, but serves as a nuisance, and his lack of mobility is another source of frustration. The manifestation of this frustration stems from the Headlock which cuts circulation to his head and applies pressure to the temple, and this frustration is apparent through his frantic movements and failed attempts at escape as he wildly flails his arms, squirming like a worm in the dirt. Showtime grits his teeth together, his eyes emblazoned with passionate fury as he continues to apply more pressure on the Headlock, his arms twisting and turning as they clamp down mercilessly on his senses. Overcoming this subduing hindrance is no mountainous task for Matt Blaze; in fact, he’s able to do so with a great deal of efficiency and with a complete lack of effort. Pushing Showtime’s body off of his head like a shotput sends the Iconic Legend darting for the opposite side of the ring. The unexpected burst of speed brings a look of shock to his face as he bolts across the ring, unable to impose his own will on his legs. His boots trample on the canvas like a stampede, sampling the noise of a hundred wild animals. A temporary and brief pause is created in the tumultuous noise, as Showtime’s back rests upon the ring ropes momentarily. This visit to the ropes is abbreviated, cut short by the elasticity in these nylon strands which shoots Showtime back in the direction whence he came. Like an oncoming freight train, Showtime charges toward his foe. The cruiserweight makes a wise choice, deciding to duck underneath the train and hope that the wheels will pass him over. Sure enough, Showtime leaps over the floored body of his enemy, rebounding off of the ropes once again to repeat the process laid out beforehand. Hastily, Matt Blaze gets to his feet. The immediacy of his action proves pertinent to his tactical assault. Utilizing the bouncy figurations underneath the ring, Matt Blaze achieves mind-blowing elevation, twisting his legs around the neck of the Iconic Legend and dragging him swiftly to the canvas with a Hurricanrana. As any savvy wrestling fan would know, the Hurricanrana is an especially dangerous maneuver, displayed as such with Showtime somersaulting through the air, sending the champion’s head into the canvas and creating as sickening thud with the materials underlying the canvas. He slides across the canvas with his excessive momentum, his back slipping across the smooth surface like a small child on a slide, feet first and completely out of control. Immediately, his hands entrench his own neck as he tries to soothe the pain through physical nourishment.

Johnny: Whoa, Matt Blaze coming right out of the gate with a huge Hurricanrana! Who knows where Showtime's head is at after being rocked by that move!
Donny: I'll tell you where it is, it's about 5 feet from Sleepyville and about 2 inches from my large male genitalia!
Johnny: If that wasn't the most utterly disgusting thing I've ever heard, I might consider that a decent insult. And besides, we all know you don't have a penis.
Donny: ...in other news, it seems as though Blaze is beginning work on the neck early here, possibly setting up for the Future Perfect later on!

It was fully the intent of Matt Blaze to weaken the neck of his foe in order to tenderize and soften the area of pain inflicted in many of his signature moves, allowing the torture of the neck to continue. It’s hard to believe that the Iconic Legend has been so easily man-handled so early in the match, a testament to Showtime’s underestimation of his cruiserweight challenger on this historic Insanity. Matt Blazer quickly goes for the cover, anxious to see if he can pull a fast one on the Bostonian, who has apparently been caught off-guard by the high-risk mastery of his veteran challenger. Hooking the leg, Blaze leans hard to ensure maximum leverage and minimum chance for escape. The referee’s hand rises as he slides to the canvas much in the same fashion as Showtime.

One…
KICKOUT!!!

Although the maneuver was executed with precise perfection, and although he was caught off his guard, Showtime still has plenty of juice left in his battery, and he intends to keep on ticking until he’s utterly broken. They both quickly get to their feet after the kickout, and immediately begin to stare down with utmost intensity, seething anger now plainly visible in the eyes of the heavy favorite in this duel of iron wills, two fierce competitors with looks of aggression and determination on their face, both of whom refuse to back down.

*OOC:* Sorry that took so long...hopefully we can each get one or two more up. Good luck man!

Quickly coming to the realization that he isn't going to be able to over-power the Champion, Matt Blaze's brain begins to work away at a new strategy. The new plan begins to unravel and unfold in his head, like a map being rolled out by one in quest of treasure. This treasure, is the strategy of using his high-flying experience to outwit and outlast the Iconic Legend that stands before him. The eyebrows of Matt Blaze arch downwards, giving the Cruiserweight Champion the appearance of a confident, yet cautious challenger. The eyebrows that adorn the face of "The Future" help to absorb the small beads of sweat that have begun to form on his forehead, before trickling downwards like a tiny waterfall. The eyes of Matt Blaze lock their gaze upon the frame of the World Champion, who has no intentions of walking away without his Championship Belt strapped firmly around his waist tonight. The size and weight differential is definitely a factor that both men must take into account as they journey onwards into the match-up. "The Future" is outmatched by 75 pounds, and Showtime slightly towers over Matt Blaze at an impressive 6'5''. Two enitrely different worlds collide, as the two combatants meet in the center of ring with another basic Collar and Elbow Tie-up. Hoping that the momentum with which he entered the hold would allow him to gain the upperhand, Matt Blaze struggles furiously to force Showtime backwards. The muscles in the PWA World Champion's arms begin to swell up, as if sucking the power out of his opponent's muscles. With one seemingly effortless thrust of his arms, the frame of Matt Blaze is sent backwards. "The Future" hits the canvas back-first, and a small jolt of pain ripples through his spine and eventually to his brain, whereupon he is prompted to let out a grunt of pain. Showtime backs off, allowing the Cruiserweight Champion ample room and time to get to his feet on his own accord. The Bostonian knows, from his many years of wrestling, that merely lifting the opponent back to a vertical base, does nothing but help the adversary in terms of conserving energy. Not only would Showtime have saved Matt the energy he will now spend to get up, he could've possibly left himself open to another one of the cruiserweight's lightning fast maneuvers. Strategy is the key in a bout like this one, and Showtime knows this all too well. "The Future" props himself up in a rather hurried fashion, his eyes quickly scanning the confines of the squared circle to locate his opponent. Realizing that the Iconic Legend is not making a move towards him, Matt Blaze scoots towards the ropes and utilizes them to bring himself to his feet, while also distancing himself from the daunting task of capturing the World Heavyweight Championship that lies before him in the human form of one Showtime. Intent on setting his plan into motion, Matt Blaze quickly makes a move towards the Bostonian legend. Showtime is not one to sit idlely by as his opponent, no matter what their stature, makes a mad dash at his body. This is displayed in a mere matter of seconds as the lumbering right arm of Showtime swings out beside him at a violent pace. "The Future" is about run head-on into an 18 Wheeler, and using his speed, reacts with appropriate maneuvering. The spine of the Cruiserweight Champion is allowed to bend forwards, effectively lowering the vertical base of "The Future." Timing is everything, and apparently time is on the challenger's side tonight, as Matt Blaze succesfully ducks under the lariat attempt of the World Title holder. Placing his right foot out to the side as he escapes what could have been a dehabilitating collision, Matt Blaze turns around on a dime, placing his body directly behind the massive frame of Showtime. Not wasting a single moment, Matt Blaze springs into action. "The Future" leaps up into the air, the semi-bouncy mat helping to contribute to the height that the Cruiserweight Champion achieves. Showtime's back is suddenly jarred with a shock of pain, as the boots of "The Future" smash solidly into the upper region of his back. The jolt of pain mixed with the forwards motion of the Dropkick executed by the challenger, cause Showtime to begin leaning over forwards. In order to stop himself from falling face-first on the mat and making a fool of himself, Showtime quickly puts his legs into a forward motion. Essentially "stumbling" forwards, Showtime stretches his arms out in front of him, using the top ring rope that draws ever closer with each step, to stop his forwards journey. Showtime slowly turns around to face the direction from which the Dropkick came from, and his pupils allign in a locked fashion upon his prime target.

Johnny -- Nice quick dropkick by the Cruiserweight Champion.

Donny -- Nice? All it did was make Showtime even more annoyed.

Johnny -- I take it that you're not rooting for the underdog tonight?

Donny -- If by underdog you mean Showtime, yes. If you meant Blaze, quite frankly, no.

Having succesfully completed yet another high-flying move against his opponent, Matt Blaze gets a little cocky. "The Future" begins to run forwards, his legs shooting in front of him as he runs like pistons in a top end Ferrari. The shadow of cockiness overshadows the Cruiserweight Champion's thinking skills for the moment, as Matt Blaze nears the towering frame of the World Champion. Without a care in the world, "The Future" quickly bends at his knees, before leaping into the air. The damp air that fills the arena serves as the cruiserweight's "magic carpet", as Matt Blaze flies through the air. Showtime remains standing still, and a few fans at ringside shout at the Champion to move out of the way of a possible car wreck. The Iconic Legend stares intently at the now horizontal frame of Matt Blaze, as he inches closer and closer. Time seems to be standing still for Matt Blaze, who believes with all of his might, that he can take Showtime down to the canvas with this Cross Body Block. Matt Blaze's chest slams into the chest of the World Champion, but instead of sending the bigger man falling backwards, "The Future" finds himself hovering above the ring canvas. Matt looks around with his head, before seeing that he's not actually suspended above the mat by some miracle, but is held firmly by the World Champ. Showtime just shakes his head, and smirks, knowing that it wasn't a car coming for him. It was merely a small bird headed towards the windshield of the Champ's "vehicle." Showtime watches as this "bird" begins to flail his arms and legs in an effort to pry himself from the grasp of the Bostonian, but it's all in vain. Showtime walks forwards a few steps, before using his sheer upper body strength to lift the horizontal body of his opponent up into the air. The Bostonian brings Matt's body over his head, whereupon he releases his grip. "The Future" is sent flying once more, but this time not on his accord. Blaze lands hard on his back several feet away from Showtime, and an instant shock of pain covers his entire spinal region. The fans roar with delight upon witnessing the simple, yet effective Fall Away Slam. Showtime finds himself on the mat as well, but he is much better off than his opponent is at the moment. Showtime scoots his entire body towards the writhing frame of the challenger, before laying across the chest of "The Future" and hooking the leg, hoping to put another Title Defense in the books as quickly as possible. The assigned official for the contest drops down onto both of his knees, and begins to lift his right arm up, before bringing it down towards the canvas...

The Cruiserweight Champion's shoulder rolls off the canvas, ending the count but leaving him open to another maneuver. Showtime's eyes show the fury he feels vibrating through every inch of his being. How such small facets of visual endulgement can so vividly depict his emotional level, is a matter of fact beyond evidential description. Nonetheless, his hand furiously entrenches itself into a fist, wrapping tightly around the hair follicles of "The Future", lifting his limp carcass from the canvas. In a match with such high stakes, the tide seems to remain in the favor of the much larger competitor as he continues to dominate his cruiserweight opponent. A flurry of Punches hit the face of the cruiserweight champion like darts flying into a dartboard. At rapid rates, the fists fly from the ferocious arms of the Iconic Legend, connecting one after another, landing consistently in the target known as "bull's eye", the intensity of these shots continually hitting the skin and bones of the Cruiserweight Champion with insurmountable dosages of pain. A feeling of surpressed anger and locked-down rage fills the eyes and soul of Matt Blaze, furthermore encouraging him to take a stand against this immovable force which continually assaults his physical being. In a quick fit of retaliatory desires, Blaze is suddenly filled with a second wind to fight fire with fire, delivering a Punch in response to each of Showtime's punches. Back and forth, the two titans of wrestling history trade blows, going shot for shot, punch for punch, grunt for grunt. Finally, the paramount of the Cruiserweight division mounts an astounding comeback, as one punch after another befalls the face of the Iconic Legend, bringing him to a state of passive compliance with the actions unfolding before his very eyes. He can't believe the sudden shift in the advantage, as it slips from his own grasp and into the grasp of a man who is the clear underdog in this encounter. Showtime continues to stagger backwards, an awkward look of shock and anger decorating his facial expression as his eyebrows furrow, his mouth opens, his eyes widen, and his forehead tightens. An eerie silence overcomes the fans in the stands as they watch one of their heroes get dominated, the tables being turned on him in a situation completely devoid of his control. With each hard jab, Showtime loses a little bit of ground, becoming completely subdued by the offensive storm of his foe. Suddenly, Showtime finds himself backed against the ropes, no means of escape. He is trapped like a rat underneath the growing aggression of Matt Blaze, whose angry onslaught grows more angry with time. He finally finds salvation from the attack, as he is Irish Whipped into the opposite side of the ring, his feet trampling upon the thick and loud canvas, creating booming echoes which resound throughout the arena. As he rebounds off the opposite ropes, he retains his speed and even gains more momentum as his body begins to barge beligerently toward the other end of the ring. After a quick Boot to the midsection, he hooks the arms of his abated foe. The Cyclone seems just moments from execution before Matt is quickly shoved from his captive foe, sent barracading at riproaring rates into the opposite ropes. In fury, Matt Blaze attempts a running clothesline, but is quickly evaded by the cat-like reflexes of Showtime, his eyes widening at the sight of the oncoming bullet which is Matt's extended right arm coming straight for his neck. He ducks smooth underneath the blow, evading any pain which may have been caused by said attack. As a result of this counter, Showtime is afforded an opportunity for reprisal. One Conclusion later, things seem all but finished as Showtime makes the cover and hooks the leg for the win.
