"This Fire Burns" by Killswitch Engage hits the PA system. "The Future" Matt Blaze, the current Cruiserweight Champion, makes his down the ramp. He slides into the ring, poses for the audience, and hands the Championship Belt to the referee standing before him. Blaze prepares himself for his opponent by stretching out a bit, using the ropes...

OOC: I'll edit this entrance later.. Anyway, Good luck Chase. Let's make it a good one eh?

DING DING DING!

The bell at ringside chimes, each toll spreading throughout the arena. On one side of the ring is the record setting Cruiserweight Champion, who wants nothing more than to be the better man tonight and walk away with the Title. Across from the Champion stands the challenger, "The Indestructible Rage" Chase Haifen. In what could very well be his last match in the PWA, Chase wants nothing more than to put on one of the best matches of his career, live on Insanity. The appointed official for this contest stands between the two men, who slowly begin to approach each other. As their frames draw closer, the size advantage witheld by "The Indestructible Rage" becomes more apparent. Not only does the challenger tower above the Champion, the weight difference is there as well. One would think that with the success that Chase has seen here in the PWA, this match tonight could be his defining moment, capturing the Cruiserweight Championship. In a rather surprising turn of events, the right arm of Haifen stretches out towards "The Future", palm open. The PWA Veteran grins and extends his right arm as well, their palms clasping around each other's in a firm handshake. Both atheletes loosen their grips and step away from each other, ready to engage in what should be one hell of a match-up. Without skipping a beat, both competitors bolt forwards, their arms interlocking around each other's shoulders in a textbook Collar and Elbow Tie-up. The size advantage that Chase has comes into play at times like these. Haifen begins to use his strength to push the Champion backwards, step by step, inch by inch. Chase loosens his arms and slips them free from the tie-up, before making a quick step to his right. Haifen grabs the left arm of Blaze and makes his way around to the back of "The Future." Bringing the left arm of the Veteran up behind his back, Chase presses Blaze's forearm into his own spine, applying a basic Hammerlock. Chase applies as much pressure as he can, but quickly transitions to another maneuver. Avoiding the inevitable back elbow from Blaze to break the hammerlock, Chase relinquishes the hold and steps up beside of his opponent. "The Indestructible Rage" takes his left arm and wraps it around the head of Blaze, applying a basic Side Headlock. As the air flowing to his lungs is cut off, Blaze's arms begin to droop lifelessly, prompting a sly grin to spread across the face of Haifen. The seemingly dead arms of Blaze rise from their grave, as "The Future" swings his right forearm into the ribcage of his opponent. A small amount of air is knocked from Chase's chest, but the superstar diligently keeps the hold applied, intent on squeezing the life out of the Veteran in the early minutes of the match. Another forearm shot follows the first, this one causing Chase's vice grip around Matt's head to loosen. "The Future" lowers his head and steps back, effectively stepping out of the hold and away from the challenger. Blaze rushes up to the back of Chase, not giving his opponent a chance to turn around. The arms of the Champion reach around the waist of Haifen and lock at the hands with a Rear Waistlock. Summoning up a quick burst of strength, "The Future" bends at the knees, before standing straight up as he lifts the frame of Chase Haifen off of the canvas. Sweeping the body of Chase horizontally through the air, Blaze brings "The Indestructible Rage" on a collision course with the canvas. Content with the positioning, Blaze puts all his weight forwards, sending Chase smashing into the canvas front-first with a basic Wrestling Lift. Beginning to use his veteran ring skills, Blaze "swims" over the back of his opponent, before bringing himself to a stop positioned directly in front of Chase's skull. Lying on his own stomach, Blaze reaches out and wraps his right arm underneath the neck of Chase. The hands of the Champion lock together, applying a firm Front Facelock. Already targeting the cranium of his opponent, Blaze begins to wrench the submission hold in, the veins in his arms bulging with each tighten of the maneuver. "The Future" brings himself up onto one knee, whereupon he pulls back on the neck of Haifen, intensifying the hold. The pain shooting throughout the neck of "The Indestructible Rage" makes him feel as though there is a stampede of buffalo charging up towards his brain. This stampede of pain reaches it's destination, the brain signaling several grunts and shouts of pain to escape from Chase's lips. The indominatable spirit of Chase Haifen shines through in times like these, as we see him prop himself up onto one knee as well, relieving some of the pain. The effort to escape the hold doesn't sit well with Blaze, who brings himself up to both feet, violently pulling Chase Haifen up with him. It appears for second, as if the Cruiserweight Champion is trying to pop Chase's head clear off his shoulders. The veins in Blaze's arm look to be near their breaking point, and the intensity shown on Matt's face tells a story of frustration. The sweat rolls down the forehead of "The Future", and as several droplets run into his eyes, the hold noticeably weakens. The stinging sensation running through Matt's eyes shift his focus away from the hold, and instantly to blinking the minor interruption away. The window of opportunity is wide open for Chase, and the Cruiserweight leaps right on through it without a care in the world. Haifen presses the soles of his feet into the canvas, almost digging into the mat, as he pushes Blaze backwards. Haifen smashes the Champion's back into the turnbuckles, and remains in his stooped over position. Keeping his head underneath the right arm of Matt Blaze, Chase grabs the ropes that extend from each side of the middle turnbuckle. The challenger steps back, then pulls himself forwards, whereupon he drives his shoulder directly into the gut of "The Future." The Shoulder Smash from Chase Haifen sends a ripple of pain through the Champion's entire chest, all while the air occupying his lungs races out at an alarming speed. Left gasping for air, Blaze is vulnerable to any attack Chase has planned next.

Johnny -- Well Donny, it's been quite an even match-up thus far.

Donny -- You're right, but who do you think will come out on top once the dust settles?

Johnny -- If I was a bettin' man I'd place my money on the Champion.

Donny -- Pshh.. Joo Crazy!

Chase stands up straight, contemplating his next move in the time he has. "The Indestructible Rage" drills his right knee into the gut of his opponent with a Knee Smash, before grabbing the Champion by his hair and pulling him out of the corner. The blow to the gut leaves Blaze gasping for any air he can get. At this point, he probably wouldn't care if it was poison as long as he was filling his lungs with something. Chase Haifen applies his own Standing Front Facelock to Matt Blaze, using the basic hold as the first step to his plan. Chase takes the left arm of the Champion and drapes it over and across his neck, hooking his opponent up nicely for a suplex. Chase Haifen grabs a handful of Blaze's tights and proceeds to attempt to lift "The Future" up into the air. The Cruiserweight Champion blocks the move attempt with his foot, hooking his right ankle behind the ankle of Haifen. Chase Haifen snarls and delivers another Knee Smash, keeping the facelock firmly applied as he does so. With a frustrated look on his face, Chase Haifen once again attempts to hoist the frame of the Cruiserweight Champion into the air. He succeeds, but the frustration causes him to be a tad bit hasty in his vertical lift. This allows Blaze to continue on over the shoulders of Chase Haifen and land on his feet behind "The Indestructible Rage", almost back to back. "The Future" shakes off the cobwebs and dashes off towards the ropes that rest in front of him. Turning his back to the ropes, he bounces off of the aforementioned objects, picking up speed as he returns towards his opponent. Chase Haifen spins around just as the heat seeking missle known as Matt Blaze is about to obliterate it's target. The imminent explosion occurs, as the right forearm of "The Future" stretches out and collides with the neck of his opponent. Chase Haifen is sent directly to the mat after a stiff Right Arm Lariat from the PWA Veteran. Having put all his weight behind the move, Blaze falls to the canvas as well upon delivering the blow. "The Future" lifts himself up off of the canvas with his palms and scoots over to Chase, where he hooks his opponent's leg and goes for the first pin attempt of the match-up...

Kick Out!

The crowd, now standing, glaring in utter amazement, Haifen managed to kick out of the pin. Climbing to his feet slowly, Haifen feels the weight of the world on his shoulders, what’s at stake tonight, his chance to relish a new title or to hang up his wrestling boots once and for all. Standing now Haifen looks over to his opponent ‘The Future’ Matt Blaze. Blaze looked confident, showing no fear, no fear in Haifen. Chase shakes off the mental psych-out and wanders over to the cruiserweight champion. The two cruiserweights lock-up into a grapple. Instead of throwing each other into different holds or manoeuvres they just seem to be testing out each others strengths. These two wrestlers give off the impression of two bulls locking horns fighting between themselves to determine the alpha male, but the only way this is decided is when either the challenger wins or the title or champion retains. Matt forces Chase backwards, but like a Bull – Haifen charges back towards the cruiserweight champion. Skilfully Blaze leads Chase right into a tight Headlock, Blaze twists his locked arm against Haifens neck choking the three time hardcore champion. Running out of air and energy Chase struggles to stand and slumps down onto his knee’s. Trying to fight back Haifen struggles himself up onto one knee, but he feels too weak to climb up. Matt wanting more of a challenge releases the twenty-seven year old cruiserweight.

Johnny: Blaze seems to have a plan up his sleeve, by continually working the neck of Chase.

Donny: Yeah but it looks like Matt actually has some feelings by releasing Chase from the headlock like standing sleeper hold.

Matt now glaring at Chase with evil intentions, he wonders over to the challenger and pull’s him up to his feet, looking groggy Matt drags him over to the ropes. Holding Chases hand, Blaze quickly whips Haifen forward and destroys him with a vicious Cactus Clothesline to the neck, the impact throws both Chase and Blaze over the ropes. Matt now planning to seriously injure his challenge pulls him to his feet. Grabbing Chase by the hand Matt insulting waves ‘bye-bye’ to Chase before throwing him towards the ring post with a strong Irish Whip, un-able to stop himself Haifen collides with the Ring Post, Haifen drops to knees, lying against the ring post as if it was a support beam, but it seems to have been used more like a weapon. At this point both cruiserweights notice that the referee has been ‘counting them out’, the referee shouts out Seven!!, Matt knowing that Chase won’t make it in for ten quickly rolls back into the ring. But he then decides to rolls back outside the ring, forcing the referee to stop the count and then start over. Blaze struts over to Haifen, who is looking worse-for-wear. Matt Blaze ‘The Future’ grabs a hand full of Chase’s long hair and strikes him with a closed fist to the temple; Blaze then again repeats the insult. Haifen now with only one last move in mind, he strikes back at Blaze with a Low Blow, standing so close to the apron, the referee nor camera men were able to notice it, they just notice Blaze suddenly shrieking in pain. Unable to move Blaze slumps over onto Haifen and the ring post, again Chase strikes Blaze with another Low Blow, the referee by this time has counted up to six. Now both men equally worn down and hurt scramble to the ring, Chase manages to roll in by the count of seven and the cruiserweight champion manages to make it in by nine.

Johnny: This might be a double count out! Who’d get the title!?

Donny: Blaze, Blaze would retain the title if the match ended on a count-out, the title can’t change hands on a count out!!!

Johnny: Okay, Okay! Jeez, can I have my head back? Hell it’s not my fault I don’t pay attention to the match, can’t you see the juggs on that Italian momma! Man I think I’m…

Haifen climbs up to his feet first, shaking off the pains in his neck and shoulder. He doesn’t waste any time and runs over with a boot stomp down onto the champ. Several stomps later Chase wonders over to the closest corner and beings to climb the turnbuckles. From the corner of his eye he notices Blaze moving. Chase rather than risk climbing to the top rope, decides to just jump backwards from the second rope, striking a standing Matt Blaze with some sort of Inverted Flying Shoulder Tackle, the impact throws Matt down onto the canvas, throwing striking pains into his upper torso and back. Climbing to his feet Chase pull’s up the Champion, Matt Blaze and throws him into a grapple. Haifen now throws the champ, Matt into a headlock, forcing him down to his knee’s, but the sudden rush of momentum causes Chase to release the cruiserweight champion. Haifen then peruses the ropes, bouncing off of, gaining more momentum he strikes down Blaze with a Running Dropkick, Haifen jumps up to his feet once again, the great energy beaming from the man is amazing, he runs over to the corner ropes and leaps up to the top rope in a single bound. Turning around quickly and with a leap of faith Haifen pounces off of the top rope. In mid-air Chase moves both arms backwards and grabs the bottom halves of his Shines, turning his legs into a triangular shape. With the edge of his knee’s he plummets to the canvas quick and lands down on top of Matt Blaze with a two hundred and twenty seven pound Knee Drop from the top rope, the crowd seem some what horrified for the sicken impact. Haifen wastes no time and pin’s Blaze. The referee runs over and begins the count, he slams palm on the canvas “One”, removing it from the canvas he throws it down again “Two”, from the second the word left the referee’s mouth the cruiserweight champion jerks up his shoulder, pushing back Haifen.

Chase Jumps up to his feet, although with the wear and tear he’s battled through in this match, he might just be running on fumes. Standing over Blaze, Chase pulls the cruiserweight champion up to his feet. Behind Blaze, Chase slips his arms between Blazes and throws them backwards locking him up in a Full Nelson, wrestling to get out Blaze begins to struggle but suddenly realizes what he as to do to get out, letting his arms go all loose and limber. Blaze then lets himself drop to the canvas, sliding out of Chase’s hold. Matt knowing that time is against him, he jumps up to his feet and goes to strike down Chase with a super-kick, Haifen on fire manages to convert the move, Chase catches Blazes foot and twists the ankle forcing Blaze down to the canvas, looking as if Chase is about to use the ankle lock, Haifen suddenly repositions, throwing Blaze down onto his stomach, Haifen drops down onto the knee and locks in the Haifen’s Stretch, the crowd explode into cheers as this veteran manages to go from Full Nelson to a standing Ankle Lock down into his finishing manoeuvre the Haifen’s Stretch. Blaze begins to scream as he reaches for the ropes. Crawling on his stomach, ‘The Future’ Matt Blaze struggles to reach the ropes, the ropes only a foot away. His legs suddenly go numb, he doesn’t know if they’ve passed out from the pressure or that Haifens maybe applied enough pressure to dislocate the bones. He turns around and notices Chase still kneeling down on top of him, the hold still locked in, but the pain, the pain is growing larger and larger. Blaze feels like his legs are on fire and the ropes, the ropes are his extinguisher, extinguisher for the pain. Finally Blazes hand scrapes the ropes, he throws his arm forth once more and manages to catch on. The referee tells Chase to release the hold, ‘The Rage’ Chase Haifen just ignores the puny referee. The referee looses his temper and pushes Chase, knocking him off balance, releasing the hold on the Champion. Haifen darts to his feet, an eye burning a hole through the official, Haifen imagines himself delivering a spine buster and several chair shots to the sweaty official, but he manages to hold himself back. Chase takes out his frustration out on Blaze, landing several punches and kicks, the fist of fury begin to tear into the cruiserweight champion. Wearing himself out Chase falls back onto his ass, breathless. He shakes the sweat from his face and climbs up to his feet. Kneeling down he grabs Blaze by the head and pulls him up to his feet. Both Blaze and Haifen are noticeably worn down, if either of them thought this was a walk in the park, their way wrong. Chase grabs Matt by the arms and kicks him firmly in the stomach, Blazes gut folds backwards as Chase grabs him in a head lock, but suddenly jumps performing the ‘rKo’, but Haifen has re-titled it the Rage Driver. The canvas shudders from the impact of the two cruiserweights. The crowd going wild, split in two chanting; Chase, Chase, Chase. Others chanting; Blaze, The Future, Blaze. The referee glares down at the two wrestlers, both looking rather less than 100%, But Chase rolls over the cruiserweight champion and pins his shoulders down. The referee drops to his knee’s and begins the count.

The official's hand slaps the canvas.. starting the three count..

1!

2!

Thr... No!

The referee quickly stops the three count as he spots the left foot of the Champion dangling across the bottom ring rope. As the referee taps Chase on the shoulder, "The Indestructible Rage" springs up to his feet, his face beaming with happiness. The first thought going through his mind is that he captured the Cruiserweight Championship on what many believed would be his last match in the PWA. A shadow of dissapointment befalls the challenger, as the official gets his attention and makes it clear that the match isn't over just yet. The referee's left arm extends and the pointer finger of the official's hand aims itself towards the foot of Matt Blaze. Chase's face fills with anger, as he believes he had this match won! Chase runs his hands through his hair, clearly upset about this roadblock tossed in his way. Being on the adrenaline high that he is on right now, Chase becomes an 18 wheeler ready to plow through the roadblock set by the Champion. "The Indestructible Rage" pushes the referee aside and leans over the downed body of Matt Blaze, ready to grasp his opponent by the jugular and pull him to a vertical base. Suddenly, using one last burst of energy, "The Future" springs back to life after the brutal variation of the Ace Crusher which he recieved just moments ago. Reaching his arms out, Blaze wraps his left arm around the head of Chase and pulls him down towards the canvas, all while cradling the legs of his opponent. The two roll backwards, until Blaze has Chase positioned on his back, shoulders down with a textbook Small Package! The crowd becomes electric with cheers as they witness the Champion try to pull off the victory right here. With bated breath, they watch as the referee quickly drops down onto his knees with cat-like reflexes and begins to administer the three count. The body of Chase Haifen squirms and flails like a fish out of water, but Blaze keeps the slippery foe held tightly..

3!

Just after the count of three, Chase Haifen breaks free from the Small Package. Haifen rolls away from Blaze and clammers back to his feet, hoping and praying that he didn't get pinned. His fears reveal themselves as the truth, as he sees the official calling for the bell and reaching out for the Title. The referee helps Matt Blaze up to his feet and hands him the Championship, as the announcer can be heard over their respective microphone..

Announcer -- Here is your winner, and STILL Cruiserweight Champion of the World.. "The Future" Matt Blaze!

Blaze leans against the nearest set of turnbuckles, breathing heavily after such a close and exciting bout. Chase Haifen begins to approach the Champion, and the crowd edges towards the end of their seats, clearly expecting a post-match beat down from "The Indestructible Rage." After all, he just lost his last match in the PWA. A title match no less. Blaze winces as his opponent draws closer, expecting the same thing. A calm feeling sweeps over Blaze as he sees the right arm of Chase Haifen extend towards him, palm open. "The Future" accepts the offer, completing a post-match handshake, a sign of respect amongst the two competitors. Chase takes a deep breath, poses for the crowd, and makes his way to the back..

Shortly after Chase exits, Blaze does the same, and as "The Future" nears the top of the ramp, the frame of Kai Saibot comes into view. Blaze slowly makes his way towards Kai, who remains at the top of the ramp, intently staring at the Cruiserweight Champion. Not sure what to make of this, Blaze cautiously approaches Kai Saibot, his eyes scanning the message adorning the superstar's shirt. A puzzled look comes across the face of the Cruiserweight Champion, who stops and stares at Kai for a moment, before making his way to the locker room to shower and rest up. Kai Saibot eventually turns, and makes his way to the back too, the crowd never really getting a definite answer regarding what Blaze's former partner and rival was doing out here...

OOC: I got permission to end this match from Showtime. Good match Chase, and it's a shame this is your last one. Good luck mate.
