Alex Giltinane stood mere feet from the two other wrestlers participating in this contest, something different about him today though. The once “Glorificent One” is now shrouded in darkness. Alex’s once vibrant coloured wrestling trunks had been replaced by black trousers, his flowing blond dyed and even his usual swagger was slightly adapted. Following a string of defeats Alex’s demeanour remained upbeat at the beginning of this match up. The fans not knowing how to react towards the man they once cheered for begin a chant of “Fuck ‘em up Devlin, Fuck ‘em up!” closely followed by three claps and then the chant reoccurs “Fuck ‘em up Devlin, Fuck ‘em up!”. This time the chant is slightly louder and as it is screamed a small smile finds its way onto the face of one Mr Devlin Jackson. Following the second chant the match really begins, Jeff McKearney makes the first move attacking the twice cruiserweight champion Jackson, giving away 15 lbs to the ‘Fighting Irish Bastard’ Devlin finds himself unfortunately overpowered and quickly knocked to the mat following a torrent of vicious blows. McKearney begins to show just why the fans hate him as he keeps on top of the situation by delivering vicious elbows to the head of his target while he is on his knees, Jackson is not on the receiving end for long as he pushes McKearney away from him, giving himself enough time to stand up on his own two feet. While this has been going on “The Dark Prince” has been watching carefully and almost as soon as Jackson pushes McKearney away Giltinane acts. He runs towards the gigantic Irish brawler before jumping into the air and lifting his knees up, forcing them into his victims back. The man from Eire staggers forwards into the path of Devlin Jackson who almost beheads him with a bone shattering Clothesline . Giltinane and Jackson look at one another before looking at the downed Jeff McKearney obviously both housing the plan of taking out the big man first. Jackson lifts McKearney up to his feet before delivering a solid right hand to his forehead; the gothic grappler looks disappointedly at Jackson before balling up a fist of his own and firing it at McKearney who staggers following the second shot. Giltinane smirks at Jackson as if gloating to him slightly. The Michigan native does not take too much notice of this and instead continues to assault McKearney; the 260 ponder takes McKearney’s left hand into his own before firing him across the ring and into the adjacent corner, D J follows his prey quickly before delivering a thunderous Corner Splash , Jeff staggers out of the corner but is met by a brutal Leg Lariat which forces Jeff back into the corner. Alex holds his hands up telling Devlin that he can take over which he does with great affect. The 6’3” wrestler begins to put the boot into McKearney literally, the Irishman falls into a seated position quickly following the abuse he is suffering at the hands of D J. Jackson stops the bots and just places one foot across the big Irishman’s throat, Jackson then waves for Giltinane to attack. The young Englishman obliges, he stands in the opposite corner then begins to charge, just before Giltinane reaches McKearney Devlin Jackson removes his boot, Giltinane then nails a Baseball Slide . Jeff McKearney slumps to the mat, possibly unconscious! This leaves Giltinane and Jackson to battle between themselves for the victory here tonight. With neither man having worked up even close to what you would call a real sweat there was no real advantage to be seen, well no advantage except the size and strength of Devlin Jackson. Three inches in height and forty pounds on weight were what Giltinane was giving up to his larger opponent also Devlin’s ring knowledge was greater than that of the 22 year old who stood in front of him. Both men stood still for a second, sizing each other up if you like, then unexpectedly Jackson sticks out his right hand for Giltinane to shake, not being entirely stupid Alex’s response is a quick slap to the face of his adversary. The slap enrages the larger athlete, Jackson lunges at Giltinane but the speed of the cruiserweight is too great as Alex avoids the attack and goes behind his opponent the self proclaimed “heir to the PWA throne” delivers a quick forearm shot to the back of Jackson, Alex keeps hold of Devlin’s wrestling trunks and uses them to pull him backwards before delivering another forearm shot, Alex repeats that sequence one more time then releases the trunks of his adversary allowing him to fall to the mat. While he has his opponent down the newly focused Giltinane takes the opportunity to deliver a Stomp to the head . The member of Steele’s organisation turns his attention to Jeff McKearney now as the Irish sensation is beginning to get back to his feet unfortunately for the big man he has already been seen by Giltinane and is only on his knees when he is knocked back down via a boot from a charging Giltinane. Realising that this may be the best time to win the match Alex drags the lighter of his opponents to his feet, though he struggles the “Dark One” does this quite quickly, Giltinane quickly locks Jackson in a front face lock before driving him down to the mat with a GDT . Alex wastes absolutely no time as he quickly goes into a cover on Devlin Jackson hoping that Jeff McKearney is too incapacitated to break up the fall. 1… 2… McKearney doesn’t move but the man being pinned has enough left to kick out himself! Giltinane quickly dismounts Jackson who begins to get up, unfortunately for Alex so does McKearney and even worse for Giltinane he’s stuck in the middle, the two bigger athletes ignore each other and just focus on Giltinane who looks understandably terrified for his life. McKearney wants to attack more so he does so, with his adrenaline pumping he aims an outstretched right arm at Giltinane hoping to take him out with the clothesline the youngster manages to somehow duck and avoid contact this luck does not befall Devlin Jackson however and he is knocked down to the mat by the large Irishman. McKearney shrugs as it did not really matter to him which of his opponents he floored as long as it was one of them McKearney turns around only to come face to face with Giltinane the man he aimed to take out Alex uses his speed advantage by delivering a nice neat Dropkick to the knee of his opponent, McKearney quickly drops down to one knee following the blow he is the knocked to the mat as Alex delivers a Dropkick to the face . Instead of following up Giltinane begins to shout obscenities at the fans who once adored him. |

Using his small size to his advantage in this contest, "The Dark Prince" turns back from his verbal assault on the crowd to see the recently returned Devlin Jackson climbing up onto one knee. The 22 year old competitor pushes his body into the ropes, gathering as much momentum as possible, and is forced forward. The stiff cables doing their job and sending Alex whooshing forward with incredible velocity. The cruiserweight competitor leaps into the air, opening up his midsection for the imminent crash. The newly attired Glitinane hits something alright. What he hits feels like slamming into a brick wall, he hits none other than Jackson. The 260 pounder shows his rather impressive strength as he climbs from his knee to his feet in one swift motion, Alex trapped in his arms. The young cruiserweight has a look of fear upon his countenance as he feels the vibration of Devlin's steps. However, the even younger 19 year old irishman seems to have recovered a bit, standing up to his full height of 6'4". Known only for losing to La Sombra last week, "The Fighting Irishman" feels the need to prove himself even further and he rushes forward, showing an uncanny speed for a man his size. His back turned, the 260 pound Jackson doesn't even see the blow coming, but he certainly feels it's effects. A massive arm slams into the back of Jackson's skull, the impact sending the still caught Alex, dropping to the canvas. Shortly after, it's Devlin who drops down feeling the effects of an amazingly stiff Lariat. Mckearney knows he has almost no charisma and must rely on his power to get him over with the fans and this he does. The large irishman turns his attention on the self proclaimed "Heir To The PWA Throne". Alex has brought himself onto his knees, just in time to slowly look up at the man who owns the shadow now covering him. Mckearney reaches his hands downwards and locks both of them tightly around Alex's throat. The 22 year old is helpless in the grip of his massive opponent and is thrown none too gently into a corner of the ring. Whilst Devlin grasps the back of his head in pain, Jeff is using his shoulder to lift Alex to the top rope. The 19 year old sits his significantly lighter opponent on the top turnbuckle, wanting to end this one quickly after their last encounter. No matter who you are, if you're a wrestling fan, you know something big is coming up and the audience prove this as they begin to stand up in droves. Everyone wanting to catch whatever spectacular move is coming. Mckearney climbs to the second rope and fires a right hand at his opponent, nearly knocking the cruiserweight from the top rope. Jeff decides to go up one more turnbuckle, both feet resting precariously on the top rope. The 19 year old reaches his arms out, when suddenly "The Dark Prince" sends a violent closed fist into the rookie's temple! Showing his experience, Alex brings himself up to his feet. The former "Glorificent One" bends his knees and springs upwards, swiftly shooting his feet out and smacking the heels of his boots into Jeff's temple! Both men fall out of sight of the cameras, dropping below the ring apron and smacking the floor with loud thuds. The audience's "Holy Shit! Holy Shit! Holy Shit!" chant echoes throughout the arena, not a single person sitting down, everyone trying to get a glimpse of the fallen competitors. Johnny: "That was insane!" Donny: "See, that's the attitude Alex needs, the do anything to win attitude. It was the only thing holding him back. Soon, he'll be at the top, you watch." Unbeknownst to the two very hurt superstars on the outside of the ring, Devlin Jackson has returned to his vertical base and is shaking the slight dizziness from his head. The former cruiserweight champion looks first one way, then the other, trying to discover his opponent's where-abouts. Unable to find them, Devlin simply walks to a corner and leans back, taking the opportunity to rest and regain his stamina. Meanwhile, the referee has been checking on the two men who took a sick tumble to the floor and has apparently decided to let the match continue, beginning a count-out on the two competitors. 1! 2! 3! 4! 5! Whether it's sheer pride or simply stupidity will never be known, but Mr. Jackson walks to the ring ropes and steps through the middle of them, dropping to the floor and effectively restarting the ref's count. The 260 pounder reaches down and drags Alex up to his feet, though the 22 year old doesn't seem to be standing on his own. Devlin lifts up the ligher man and rolls him in under the bottom rope. Sliding in afterwards, Jackson lies accross his downed opponent, hoping for the easy victory. The referee's count barely gets past a one before Alex kicks out, showing that he's not going down so easily this time. Devlin shows his grizzled veteran-like experience by keeping his cool and moving into a mount position. Mr. Jackson drives an elbow down into the eye of Alex, the cruiserweight competitor writhing in pain from the vicous shot. The dominant man sends another violent elbow into Alex's other eye, once again getting a writhing effect from "The Dark Prince". Devlin changes his tactic a bit and sends a forearm directly onto the bridge of his opponent's nose, this time recieving a bit less struggling from his opponent. The most experienced competitor in this contest removes himself from the mount position, slowly using his arms to move to almost a side mount. The lighter Giltinane is forced to experience another forcefull elbow from his opponent. Mr. Jackson putting as much force as he can muster behind each blow, his arm slicing through the air fast enough to make a whooshing sound. The 260 pounder nails another elbow, this one to the jaw of his grounded opponent. Experience shows through again as Devlin slides into a cover, this time hooking the leg to make sure of victory. |

The Bell rings and “The Pot” by PaTool sounds through out the Arena. Johnny: Something is up the referee is shaking his head no… Seems that he didn’t think it was a pinfall. Donny: He didn’t kickout and the bell has rung. The referee tries to tell Devlin that his opponent had his foot on the ropes, but he’s already climbed the toprope and celebrating his assumed victory. The referee leans from the ring; attempting to correct the time keeper. Alex, from out of no where hits Jackson with a nut hugging low blow. The surprised superstar hunches back falling as Giltinane rolls him up for the pin. The ref slides into position, signaling for the count. One… Two…. THREE!!! Donny: What the heck? Johnny: Alex comes out of this, just narrowly with the hair on his chinny, chin, chin! The music cues as Alex bolts from the ring, only lifting his hands in victory once he is safely on the outside of the ring and well up the ramp. Announcer: You winner by way of pinfall! ..... AAAAAAAAAALEX Giltinine! |
