--- New York Man --- The Fans wait in anticipation. All of a sudden, "New York, New York" is played throughout the arena. Ring Announcer: Ladies and Gentlemen......Now entering the ring weighing 180 pounds from NEW YORK CITY.......NEEEEW YOOORK MAAAN! Ear popping screams are heard from the rowdy fans. New York Man tips his cap to the crowd which results in more pops. He wears a black Yankee cap with the Yankee jersey. He holds a wooden baseball bat in his right hand. He enters the ring where he awaits his opponent's readiness. --- Julio Guerrera --- "Miseria Cantare by AFI" hits the PA system as Julio Guerrera emerges from behind the curtain. Announcer: Weighing in at 230 pounds and standing at 6 feet tall, he is JULIO GUERRERA!!! Cocky in the steps of this former Intercontinental Champion. His glare is toward one thing and one thing only, the ring. One can see the doubt is not in his face; he knows to himself that he will win his match tonight, and every night for that matter. Now making his way to the apron, the California native slides underneath the ropes and enters the squared circle. He does some last minute stretching as he becomes ready to confront his opponent. |

The fans settle into their seats as the arena has become increasingly silent. The Irish New Yorker takes on the Mexican Champion. Ding Ding Ding! The three chimes of the bell are heard as the arena darkens. These two cruiserweights have faced each other a few times. The action begins as New York Man wraps his arms around the shoulders of his cruiserweight counterpart while using his hands to lock onto his head. Meanwhile, Julio Guerrera does the same exact thing as both men are trapped in a Head and Shoulder Lock. The two lightweights are in an even predicament but New York Man uses his cheap tactics by ramming his boot into the groin of his cruiserweight opponent forcing the former Intercontinental Champion to release himself from the hold in order to provide aid for his vulnerable stomach. While also free at the moment, New York Man wraps his hands around the head of his opponent. With Julio's head secure New York Man drops onto his backside which forces the member of the Mexi-Can Express to slam face first into the canvas as New York Man has just converted a Swinging Neck Breaker. Both men are down in different positions. However, New York man shakes off his temporally moment of numbness and advances himself into a vertical position. New York Man has come to the conclusion that Julio Guerrera will not stay down from a basic set up move so he looks to drain more energy from the body of his opponents by smashing his right boot onto the backside of Julio. He does this tactic repetitively which increases New York Man's chance of winning this Three Hours of Power match. After about a half a minute of work on the back of Julio, New York Man decides to do damage at a more severe blow. The New Yorker flips Julio onto his backside with a decent amount of effort. After Julio is in the perfect position, New York Man sprints to the Northwest corner of the squared circle. He hustles as he climbs all the way up to the top turnbuckles and balances his body to maintain composure. Flowing through his mind, New York Man understands that the rag-doll body of Julio Guerrera is in perfect position to receive the attack. New York Man fling off of the top rope and spreads his four limbs as far away from each other as he can while in midair. New York Man is over Julio but Julio shifts his body to the side and as a result, New York Man hits the canvas as the joints in all his limbs burst in pain. The New York Drop had a botch result to it. Both men are down on the canvas. Julio is on his side while New York Man is down on his side, growling and grunting in pain. This time, Julio Guerrera does the struggle of trying to reach a vertical base and does so with a huge amount of effort. At the same time, New York Man advances himself to a crawling position but his chest is greeted by a right boot from down under courtesy of Julio Guerrera. Julio has the advantage. OOC: Rushed off but it's a start. |

The force behind the tip of Julio Guerrera's boot propels New York Man through the air, forcing him to do a complete one eighty rotation. Instead of facing the canvas, the Big Apple native ends up facing the arena's skylights. But soon, his zone of visibility is invaded by the clear silhouette of the cruiserweight's opponent, the huskier Julio Guerrera, The revolutionary pauses to take a look at his surprisingly already downed opponent, a small smirk cracking his otherwise emotionless visage. Julio's fingers embrace the New Yorker's bulbous skull, the man's hair interwining with his fingers as a result. With the ease and serenity of a mother securing her newborn, the Mexican slides New York Man onto his side and then once again onto his front. A second kick makes sure the former Hardcore Champion doesn't explode with a surprise volley, the second punt striking the smaller man in the face. Once again, Julio's hands wraps themselves around his opponent's cranium. They pull the man onto his feet. Donny: "That is a perfect example of the duality of the WAR leader, Johnny! He can be caring and loving if he wants to be, but he can also be down right ruthless if he has to be." And Julio definitely has to be ruthless in this match, especially if he wants to reach the Three Hours of Power final and then, afterwards, the guaranteed World Title Match. An elbow strike leaves the New Yorker's jaw aching with pain despite the fact that the move was employed moreso to stun the man than to actually take his head off his shoulders. New York Man's body feels a slight push backwards, courtesy of Guerrera. His back touches the nylon boundaries of the squared circle before it is launched off to the side completely opposite in a successful irish wish, the succeeding rubber-band effect sending the New York Man right back his slight sprint's point of origin - Julio Guerrera. The WAR leader leaps into the air, twisting himself to the side as he does so while exposing his left leg out. With nothing but the air to stop the two gladiators from colliding, New York Man has no choice but to allow Julio's Jumping Knee Strike to floor him, a resounding "SMACK!" emitting from the point of collision between the New Yorker's skin and the ring's canvas. Donny: "Like I said, Johnny - down right ruthless." The Messiah is once again mother-like in his efforts to lift his opponent to his feet; Julio being ever so delicate in his attempts. A third kick strikes the New Yorker, the volley invading a crevice somewhere between the New Yorker's rib cage and kidneys. The pain is instant and, actually, quite surprising - a small cry of pain emerges through New York Man's as a result. Julio, definitely with the intent to put an early end to this match, quickly wraps his opponent's body around his shoulders and the nape of his neck. And then, in one solid but swift motion, he lifts the man into the air and slams him into the canvas, a near picture-perfect Heartbreaker. Truly, people should never forget The Best From the West. *OOC* Sorry about the lateness, I focused too much on the tag match and not enough on this. >.< |

Julio dives across his fallen adversary, hooking his leg as the referee counts. 1... 2... 3!!! DING DING DING!!! Announcer: Winner of this bout and moving on to round two of the Three Hours of Power tournament, JULIO GUERRERA! Johnny: Impressive victory by Julio. But The Untouchables can't be happy about this. I bet they were hoping Julio would be put through a tough battle so that when the main event rolled around, he wouldn't be 100%. Donny: Whether he is 100% or 50%, The Untouchables will be going down later tonight! |
