:lol I had no problems getting mine out... Also, from what I have played so far, it is pretty solid. I'm just starting Interval 4 now... Nothing amazing thus far really, but it's been fun.

Besides the box opening from hell, would you say it's worth buying yet Trips? I've been wanting a new shooter.

If you played F.E.A.R. 1 and thought that was a game worth buying (like I did), then yeah, you'll find the sequel to be worth a buy as well. It's basically more of the same, but with better controls so far. Which is fine by me, it's what I was expecting. I can't think of any other FPSes for the 360 coming up that look better, though.

I never really played the first one as alot of my friends were complaining that it was too hard for them, plus I'm sure I was stuck on some other game at that point anyway. Sounds like I should give both of them a try sometime.

So I finished the game last night and even got to play on Live for a few hours at my friend's house. Final thoughts:

It's a really solid shooter all around, but it doesn't bring much new to the table like the first one did. It's basically a cross between F.E.A.R. and COD4. The campaign is pretty lengthy for an FPS, probably about 9-10 hours, and it offers some pretty awesome, cinematic firefights. The level design is certainly a lot more varied than the first game, which is awesome; the elementary school in particular is pretty awesome. The game definitely isn't as scary as it should be, unfortunately, but whatever, that's not particularly important to me. The ending to the story is pretty anticlimactic, though, which is disappointing, seeing as the first one had an incredible ending. Whatever, though, I wasn't really playing for the story.

As far as online goes, it's nothing amazing... It seems to borrow heavily from COD's online, and doesn't do it as well. I had a lot of fun with it, though, and it felt a lot more accessible. Whenever I've tried playing COD online, I pretty much get instantly raped by people that spend all day playing it, and it kinda ruins the fun. Maybe it's just because the game is still brand new, but that wasn't much of a problem with F.E.A.R. 2. In fact, I fucking raped the first few games I played until I moved on to a different server where I did below-average. The only game modes that I got a chance to play, though, were Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Control, which are all pretty standard FPS fare. Not sure what the other modes bring to the table, as no one was hosting any games for them...
