I saw it last night. It was all right. I've never read the book, so I'm not gonna compare it to that, but it was definitely way overhyped. It definitely suffered from being drawn out too long (I'm assuming this is due to Synder trying way too hard to be as faithful to the source as possible). Apparently, the DVD version is going to add an hour to the running length, too, which seems unnecessary to me... Christ. Anyone else see it? |

The first half of the movie (with all the backstories) started to really drag after the first hour. The second half, starting from Manhattan's appearance on that TV show, kicked ass though. Good movie. I liked it, and actually wouldn't mind seeing it again relatively soon. Far more faithful than I thought it would be, as I figured they'd try to commercialize such a big money movie a bit more. |

I thought the whole first two hours seemed to drag. <_< I'm not saying that the first two hours was boring, but the plot was developed so slowly, and then in the last half hour, everything felt like it happened all at once. Honestly, I felt like there was too much character development for a movie. I guess it's lose-lose, though, with such a robust cast; anything less probably would have made the characters too forgettable. Also, there is one thing I think the film really failed at. *SPOILERS* The ending. I dunno about you, but I really didn't care when they blew up like 15 cities. Like, at all. It pretty much just happened and that was it. The scene of New York getting pwned came off really weak. |

I read somewhere that, that is how it goes in the comic. SPOILERZ I have to admit I didn't hate the ending, because it makes a lot of sense about society not always needing to know the truth for their own good. |

*SPOILER WARNING* Trips isn't griping about the ending itself, but instead how it was presented/executed in the film, which I definitely agree with. It was missing just a little extra "something" to drive home the fact that, y'know.. the world's largest cities just got fucking blown up. Rorschach's death was (rightly?) more impactful, for instance. Still, since I already knew what was going to happen, I didn't really mind much. |

*SPOILERS* Yeah, Rorschach's death was pretty solid. I think that guy's performance really carried the film. Probably one of the best performances in a comic book movie not given by Heath Ledger. |

Just about all the acting in the movie was pretty damn good, actually. Pretty great casted from top to bottom. All but Nixon. Seriously. What the FUCK?
