Proposal: Pardesi notAfrica NPCs

So, after some thinking on the matter and a single not-so-serious conversation that transpired on the IRC, I believe that the region should have some notAfrica NPCs. The reason for this, in my mind at the very least, is that it would be adding a new dynamic to the current politic landscape in the region as well as adding some nations that are not so developed. Now, I already have a few ideas swirling in my head but I wanted to check with the region if you would also be interested in having some notAfrica NPCs on the map.

This will be a discussion thread where we can pitch ideas and how we could get this developed.

They'll end up like the Middle East NPCs (being puppets of CDI nations or Tehraan).

Plus dat precious map space.

Issue 1: That issue popped up during the first conversation and it is a valid concern, but keep in mind that I hope to not have the Africa NPCs turn into puppets of CDI or Tehraan.

Issue 2: There is plenty of space, don't stress yourself on the matter.

I'm a bit concerned about map space as well. I mean, the entire point of adding the new continents was to have a wealth of space for future growth. Covering that space with NPCs would be counterproductive, especially since Africa is largely irrelevant to major international affairs.

If we do decide to add the NPCs, then African ones are a natural choice. But as I said, African NPCs don't provide a massive shift in the region's geopolitical landscape, especially when compared to, say, the Middle East (all dat oil doe).

I agree with the points that Virana and Prem brought up - I think the NPCs will become solemnly-used puppets that'll waste space for new Pardesi members.

I don't endorse this proposition.

I put high faith in the membership of this region that they will create new entities that will add diversity to the region, new roleplaying opportunities and a new landscape to explore without creating a new Middle East of puppets.

But if that is your views, so be it.

I am not opposed to a few new npcs provided they are planned very well. I think one continent where we can have some post colonial nations might be good and provide more stories. I would insist we give these to non cdi nations to rp.

This worry about map space is legit but, there is always the option of making them the size of masara or the not UEAthings, like 12 pixels a piece

I support this idea. Provided it's executed appropriately, of course. Do you have any on-paper proposals to show us at this point, Ulth? We'll have a full vote once all the concerns are on the table and addressed. Or not addressed, however you take this Ulth.
