Well, I guess I'll ask the obvious question. Matriarchy, how does Yallak feel about it? |

The Empire of Yallak is a collective and utilizes a democratic hierarchical model to organize its government. At the top level of Government is the High Council and the Imperial Senate. The High Council, led by the Emperor, is a body of nine people, the heads of various government tiers, who define the nations laws, foreign policy and defense policies. The Imperial Senate is the main voice of the people within the imperial government and acts as a direct link between the citizens and the Emperor. It is a body of eight hundred citizens (twenty people from each of the empire's forty provinces). The Senate may propose new or call for amendments to current imperial laws and policies, though these must be approved by the Emperor before they are put into effect. As well, it is the role of the Senate to ensure that the will of the people is carried out by the government, and with a three-quarter majority vote, they have the power to veto any decision or law made by the Emperor and can even remove the Emperor from power if they are unpopular enough or failing to meet the expectation of their position. Below them are various other levels of government that maintain the day-to-day functioning of the empire across each of its forty provinces (such as provincial governments, local Lords, etc) and some side branches of the government, such as the Imperial Administratum and the High Court, who serve to manage the Empires overseas interests and investments or to act as a checks and balance system against corruption. |
