i figure i need to have an idea of what kinds of music everyone here has. i'm always looking for someone new to love and listen to, and i'm tired of the same old hip-hop song sung 30 different times on the radio. so... what all do you have? for me: everything ever recorded by tori amos - she's my goddess. evanescence linkin park a ton of soundtracks - both scores and compilations. poe - love her!!! the vast majority of my music is tori and soundtracks. i need to spread my musical horizons! |

Whew...big day, just getting around to the threads here!! Okie dokie - what's in my CD wallet? Well, I don't have a wallet, but a changer in my trunk that holds 10 CDs.... 1. Three Dog Night's greatest hits, disc 1 2. Three Dog Night's greatest hits, disc 2 3. Electric Oasis - Arabian groove dance music 4. Hakim - popular Egyptian singer 5. Cairo to Casablanca - Putumayo World Music collection (I really like this Northern African stuff) 6. Arabic Groove - Putumayo World Music collection 7. Egyptian music - a homemade collection given to me by a very sweet 16-year old Egyptian girl 8. The Boyash Gypsies - Hungarian gypsy group 9. World of Gypsies - Gypsy music collection 10. Gypsy Caravan - Putumayo World Music collection It all depends on my 'mood'...and right now I'm in my exotic mood. Sometimes my changer is loaded with sea shanties and ren faire music, other times it's soundtracks. But rarely is it loaded with anything...normal. das Edit: Just added TDN's second disc, so I changed my line-up! I just loved that group....

So here's what currently makes frequent trips into my CD player. 1~ Collective Soul 2~ The Samples 3~ Josh Kelley 4~ Dexter Freebish 5~ Aslyn 6~ Will Hoge 7~ music soundtracks, like Phantom of the Opera, Walk the Line, LOTR, POTC and then, there's always: 8~ The Beatles 9~ Steely Dan 10~ CCR |

*glomps Vigsy for the Collective Soul CD* I used to listen to nothing but classic rock, but one day about a year ago, my fav classic rock station switched over to JACK FM (gotta love that name ). They play all kinds of stuff! Newer stuff, plus lots of old 80's rock/pop that I haven't heard in ages. So anyway, now I've been exposed to all these 'new' (to me) bands that I've heard ABOUT, but never really heard, you know? Like Coldplay, Maroon 5, Matchbox Twenty--Collective Soul! And I've loved the Samples ever since peej turned me on to them.
So right now I've been downloading lots of stuff like that--I find I also like several other groups like The Cure and Train. I still love the classic stuff too--Steely Dan, The Police, U2, etc. And I was a total Led Zep freak back in high school, and still love stuff from that era.

Wow...I have over 30 cds, so I don't know if I should really list them all!
Lets see, (in no particular order) Fall Out Boy, Good Charlotte, Green Day, Mest, Click Five, Papa Roach, My Chemical Romance, and All American Rejects are all I can think of off the top of my head. |

CD wallet has changed!!! A month ago I had the pleasure of hearing Pearl Jam's latest release, followed by watching a live webcast of a mini-concert they threw for fans...and so I dusted off a couple of my old PJ CD's, and popped them into the player along with their latest, affectionately called Avacado. So - Disc 1 & 2 - Three Dog Night's Greatest Hits Disc 3 & 4 - Reaviewmirrow (PJ's greatest hits) Disc 4 - Avacado (Pearl Jam) Disc 5 - Ten (Pearl Jam) Disc 6 - Vs. (Pearl Jam) Disc 7 - R.E.M. (not sure which, their second, I think, from 1984) Disc 8 - 10 - Gypsy music Right now, though, I'm listening only to the PJ stuff... das |

Mmmkay, Remus' turn! Should anyone be interested... These are bands unless otherwise noted, and I apologise in advance for repeats on this list, even if it's written down, I have a terrible memory...oh, and the ones with asterisks, I actually own. Methinks I need to expand my library. *My Chemical Romance (I can't say it enough with these guys, they're incredible...if they were a single entity I'd marry 'em) *Taking Back Sunday *Green Day *NOFX AFI All-American Rejects Motley Crue Van Halen (both David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar) *Guns N' Roses (on cassette, if you believe it -- yay garage sales! *starts singing* Welcome to the jungle, we got fun and games...) *Queen *Pennywise *Linkin Park (one of my first loves in rock) *Relient K *Weezer Black Sabbath Ozzy Osbourne Led Zeppelin Metallica Twisted Sister *Three Days Grace Def Leppard Kiss Staind Trapt Pearl Jam *Goo Goo Dolls *Smashmouth *DJ Sammie (just for "Heaven" though) Pillar *Jeremy Camp *David Phelps (whoa, huge genre change here...) *Point of Grace The Used Quiet Riot AC/DC Bon Jovi U2 The Beatles Pink Floyd Beach Boys Three Dog Night ZZ Top The Killers (this was the edit) (how could I forget about them? Honestly) --and more, so many more...I wish I could actually remember all of them And now for soundtracks...(I actually own all these) All 4 Harry Potter STs Kingdom Hearts Sleepy Hollow The Phantom of the Opera (the movie) Back to the Future --again, more Well, that's good for now... Peace Remus |
