My actual name is Genine, but Gen is my "official" nickname, so I don't mind if people call me that. In fact, I have about five or six nicknames: G-Bo, Gen, Miss Genine, Miss Genine-o, Genine-o, Geniney, G-9... I think that's about it. :)

I'm originally from Maine, South Berwick to be exact. I've only been to a few states outside of Maine (New York doesn't count - since I basically have been traveling back and forth to it since I was about 3). I go to college in New York, but I'm going to transfer next year... possibly to either a college in New Hampshire or Vermont. I have a lot of "family connections" in New York as well as New Jersey. ;)

I love theatre - in fact, I simply can't live without it. And since my college screwed me out of the theatre program, I've sort of died without being onstage. I know that sounds pathetic, but it's totally true. I love musicals, theatre (hence my screename), anything to to do with theatre - I'm there. I worked at my college's performing arts center for a while in stage crew. I got to see The Full Monty and La Boheme ... which was awesome. My favorite play is Our Town, followed closely by The General of Hot Desire. My favorite musical is West Side Story (of which I was in a production - I got to play the "female version" of Doc, it was a blast - I had my own freakin' set!!!) I also love Rent, Cabaret, Chicago, The Producers, My Fair Lady as well as many others.

I'm also a pirate - actually, a "pyrate queen." Well, I'm not really a pirate - but I dressed up as one for Halloween, and my marching band did a pirate themed program my senior year.... and I also got to write a "rap" version of The Pirate King Song for a play.... so I guess that counts as being pirate-ty. Oh, wait... I forgot... I also had a pirate themed birthday party.

My heroes are Matthew Broderick and Johnny Depp. I love Matthew. He is my numero uno role model (well, God and Jesus are at the top of my list, so technically Matthew is my number two hero)... I look up to his greatness. I also look up to Johnny -- he has helped me grow as an actor. I'd say that Johnny is more of my "methodical acting" role model and Matthew is my "musical theatre" role model. I'd love to star in a Broadway show with him! Actually, I'd just like to star in a Broadway show - my dream is to be on Broadway as an actor, singer, and playwright... and possibly a director.

I'm a big goof and am pretty random ~ however, a lot of people who meet me never place me as a "theatre person." I'm so shy and quiet that people are like "hey, look at that small shy girl! awww!!!" But the truth is, I love to be a goof. I love to dance around to "I Wanna Be A Producer", sing Rent songs in the shower, and try to make spoofs of musicals (such as "The Producers of The Caribbean")... I never want to grow up - I always want to have a heart of a child, a mind of an adult and a soul of a thespian. If that made any sense to you, be proud of yourself, 'cause it really didn't make sense to me. Heh.

I'll leave you now with one of my favorite quotations:

"I walk into rooms and I don't know why I'm there. I'm like, 'Why am I standing in front of the toilet now?'" ~ Matthew Broderick
