Yeah! I love it when Johnny sprays Geoffrey Rush and himself with the spray can! LOL. I do like the face that Jack Davenport makes when Keira Knightley says the bare breasts and ankles all the way thing. Gosh this is the best movie. I like in the end when it looks sort of like the ship is being washed off.

I love the line where Jack is looking for the word Parley. Then the topic of the French is brought up. :D

Definitely the ship chase. That was classic.

AND...

Lee Arenberg and Johnny messing with Lee's camcorder. Lee seems like he's a hoot to hang out with.

Ya know why he does that?

Hairspray helps prevent makeup from wearing off.

Makeup artists use this trick all the time.

I knew that! Somewhere deep in my head, I knew that.

I was watching a making of DMC doco. They show the filming of the scene just after they find the chest, just befrore the swordfight. Jack asks Will to hand over the key, which is on a chain around his neck. Orlando goes to take it off, but gets the wrong chain and hands over his necklace.

Orlando: It's the wrong thing
(Kiera and Jack burst out laughing)
Johnny: That's OK, I'll take your necklace. (starts waving sword around) Gimme your jewellery!

Here's the video, but it's long. I just thought I'd post it because my trnascript doesn't do the moment justice.
Video

If that's anything to go by, the blooper reel for this one will be just as hilarious.

Yeah, Su, he does say "Huge, enormous energy". I say that a lot now.

Excuse my ignorance, but what does "Check the gate" actually mean?

To my knowledge, check the gate has something to do with checking the film to see if everything's all right with it, usually right after having filmed a scene, to make sure that nothing messed it up such as a piece of dust or hair.

Here's a more specific link.

Here's my google search.

They should pass a law to force every new DVD release to include a blopper reel. As Elizabeth is my favourite person in the movie I just looove the bit with "Ankles all the way" but everything in that reel is worth looking at...

Interesting note:
The blooper with Johnny loosing his wig while saving Elizabeth (100% ROFL) can also bee seen in one of the fly-on-the-wall segments (think it's on the lost disc edition), but the camera is different.

Check the gate referes to checking the camera when you finish recording, the gate should be clear when you are done filming, if not the film have not passed through the mechanics properly...

Other film note:
I think one of the best bloopers I've ever seen (or perhaps it's because I really needed the laugh that day) is on Shanghai Knights: Jackie Chan bursts open a door to face some baddies, but as he smashes through the door you hear some metal dropping to the floor and he's standing with the door-handle in hand, the look on his face is priceless.

I can't remember if the "Oops - man down" comes first, or the ship chase with the car noises is first - but they're tied for first. The first time I saw the blooper reel, I had to stop it after the ship chase because I had gotten to that point in laughing where you're laughing so hard your lungs compress and you can't breathe in. I had tears just streaming down my cheeks.

That 'man down' line is hysterical. Depp sounds SO FUNNY when he says that!!

I love blooper reels.

My favorite bloopers from POTC are definately Johnny trying to say the courage and fortitude line on the dock and Johnny attempting to say 'parley' and getting sidetracked to mayonnaise. These are just hilarious moments; especially when compared with how well they turned out in the film.

Johnny: "God, I hate this bloody line. Where are the writers, I'm going to kill them!"

Me: *as a writer, hiding in fear*

Who knows - maybe I'll be a writer of one of his films!!

"I love ya, mate, let's just face facts"

Classic

And, it has already been mentioned, Orlando's constant throat-clearing. LOL
