Guess what they are showing at MY school this week?! :D

That's right! Pirates! I couldn't beleive it when they told me they would be showing it like a drive-up at the college I attend. I'm so thrilled, but I think the night is Thursday, and I have a night class then, so I won't be able to see it anyway. :( What should I do? Maybe with enough persuasion I could be convinced to skip class.... :D

You go to school?

I know you do, but still...

Tru, myself being a graduate, I will give you some advice on college/university life.

Skip your class.

One class never made a difference.

I skipped many a class, and here I am with degrees in english and psychology.

As long as you don't have anything important, Tru, go ahead and skip. If you have a test, then go to class and just watch the dvd.

You have a degree?!

That's something I didn't know about you, Cold. I have a BA from another college, but I went back for something entirely different. I'm in Web design and loving it! :D

There's only one thing I forgot to mention...this is a once a week class. It's four hours long and we cover a lot of stuff and I get to play with some neat software, Adobe Photoshop CS2. So skipping just this one class is more like skipping three classes.

Now what do you think?

Oh, BTW, I didn't skip a single class all four years when I was in college before. :D I was out for about a week with the flu, but I couldn't help that!

Correction. I have two! :D

It being a once-a-week class changes it, I guess.

It depends on what your learning...

Just ask yourself this... "Can I skip this class and be able to catch up?".

If you skip it and your behind for a long time, then I think going to class is the best way to go. (As much as I hate to say it  . And why is the class 4 hours long? Old people need their sleep!)

Personally I'd skip. But none of my classes were 4 hours long.

Besides, would you really want to go to a campus theatre? with all the young people? You'd stick out like a sore thumb, you would.

Yeah.....I wouldn't worry about missing the movie anyway. I'm sure you've seen it already thousands of times and this once a week class seems really important. Not that Pirates isn't important, but still. Just go to your class and stuff and like Cold said, just watch the DVD when you get home. :D

Well, I'd go to class, but I was the lame kid that never missed anything. In all of college I was only ever late for class once, and I never skipped. Yes, I'm a nerd, I know. But, it's not like you haven't seen the movie before and won't see it again. It'd be hard to miss a once a week class and catch up on everything.

Okay, that's my nerdy response, but do whatever you feel in your heart is right. I know you'll make the right decision.

I'm with the majority here. Don't skip. Put your education ahead of a movie (Even if it is this movie. :D ) You can learn a lot in four hours.

So even though I've just had this stunning thought that I sound like my parents, <_< I say go to class!

Being the little rebel that I am ( ), I'd skip class and attend the educational pirate film, instead.

But don't listen to me...I get people into trouble, and my attendance isn't too high either.

Well, I would say if this class is once a week and that long then, you should go. Obviously we value pirates A TON but, although it might be hard to sit through class knowing pirates is playing right outside, attending your class will help you accomplish stuff in life and luckily you can see pirates any time at home or even right after.. dont get me wrong Tru, I adore pirates with all my being  but this class sounds important and its not like you are missing the premiere - there is oppurtunity to do both  Of course if your heart is set on pirates and your class isnt that important than go! it really is up to your better judgement as you are the one making the decision :D

Lemme up the ante on this one....

Tru missed seeing POTC in theaters. She's never seen it on the big screen. :o

... There is no expression in the world that can show how shocked I am.

Hmmm, I still think you should go to class, though...

You'll just have to think of some other way to see it on le big screen...

Besides, I'm pretty sure campus cinemas arne't as big as real one.

At least the one up at the U of S isn't....

But you see why it's such a difficult decision for her. *nods*

Poor Tru! I'm glad I don't have that kind of decision to make!

Poor Tru. Well, I don't know how your campus is, but at UCLA when they showed movies the set up was nowhere near as good or encompassing as a real theater. Seeing it on a big screen TV would probably be better. But, that's just my school. I mean, in the 2nd story of Ackerman (which is really the 4th floor  ) they have a ballroom, and they just put a big screen at one end of it and chairs in it, but unless you're really near the front you're too far away to get that "big screen" feel. *sigh* Maybe your campus has a better set up.
