Sleeping through your POTC education is good? Educating your POTC sleep is good? Pirating your sleepy education is good? Pirates educating your sleep is good? Okay, I'll stop.

Wow Tru. Really. I'm surprised at the thought you were even considering skipping class. On the whole, it's probably best that you did sleep through the first bit of class and were late. Now you know that if ever there's something Pirates related going on during class and you don't show up people will automatically assume that you've gone to it and thus you know now you can never miss class. Hehe. I hope you get to see CotBP on the big screen someday.

Hey, Pands, I know! Wasn't it terrible I was even considering it? What was I thinking?! Me? A mom? thinking about skipping class for a movie?! Lol, I would have killed my kids had they done something like that! (calm down, everyone, I meant figuratively
)Oh, well, it's over and I didn't go, and the only time I have ever missed a class was when I was sick. And I don't get sick often. I think I was only out one day all last semester. Unfortunately it was an important day for one of my instructors. They get these speakers scheduled to come in and they tell you about it months in advance so no one will miss it, but I had to 'cause I was way too sick to go in. Oh well, she got over it and even gave me the extras for photoshop even though I didn't get to hear the speaker. (The speaker was the one who gave the extras to her.)I don't know if that made a whole lot of sense. Hope so. |

It did kind of - until you mentioned extras... Extra whats? I shouldn't be admonishing you for contemplating skipping class... goodness knows I've skipped for less important reasons than PotC on the big screen. Hehe... |

No way! ![]() The extras included something like 900 fonts. There was other stuff, like different effects, but I don't remember the names of them. We installed in on the computers at school and got to take the cd home. But I don't have photoshop at home, so I don't know how much good it's going to do me. I guess I can wait and see if I ever get a job somewhere where I use photoshop and see if I can use it there. Not sure. Hey, I've notcied you've had a couple different sigs! I liked the goat one and I like this one too! Did you make those? What graphics program do you use? Well, tomorrow starts another semester! I can't wait!

I asked Lor for permission to make a banner and avatar out of the Barbossa Lives! bumper sticker she made for the rumrunner's gear. Then she ended up making them for me. I'm very grateful for that. I just added in my name using Jasc PSP, which I also used for making my goat avatar and banner. I'm still exploring what I can do with PSP, but someday I'd like to play with Adobe's editing software. I've done other things too, but not so much pirate stuff. I'd considered posting what I've done on the graphics forum, but they're mostly Harry Potter. Dunno... |

Pands, I love PSP, took a class that emphasized it and am now doing an MSN groups course. It's free, but I'm learning stuff and it's a lot of fun, when I have the time. I took the photoshop one last semester and love it too. Also Adobe Elements. I think that's a really neat program.
Oh, I think you might be right! This semester's gonna be a doozy! I'm not taking all that many classes (4, but only 10 credit hours), but I'm working two part time jobs there on campus. I notetake for three people, tutor (that's part of the notetaking) and am a student assistent to one of the Math teachers. Oh, I love it!!!
My daughter wouldn't let me start reading my books before classes begun, she said that was too nerdy! But now I wished I had! I'm going to have to go 'cause I have so much to read!
Aww, Light! Enjoy it! You gotta do it anyway, right? So you might as well have fun! That's the way I feel about it.

I had to laugh when reading what I posted before. At that time I was experiencing my usual school-just-started-and-I'm-feeling-completely-overwhelmed syndrome. It's all good now, though. The two days I was dreading most are over, I survived, and I'm stronger for it. Yay me! *wonders how Tru's school is going* |

Well. since you asked (sort of) I'll tell you! I am enjoying my database class very much. We meet every day at 12. The teacher's a little...um,...spacey? She's just a little strange. She thinks we should get it the first time she starts talking about something. Oh well, there are enough people in the class to keep asking her questions so I don't have to all the time. ![]() Then I have a Web Design class. Well, my teacher went to London and Paris over Spring break and thought it would be a good time to have us catch up on some things so he assigned a A LOT of stuff! I was a little miffed at that, but had fun doing the assignments. I guess I won't stay mad at him for long. ![]() And my guitar lessons are coming along. He assigns me something new every week yet I don't feel like I've got the others to my satisfaction, but I have to keep going! That's what I was doing before I decided to check the boards...and I'll probably go back to it after this post. I gotta keep it up!Then there's the online class. Believe me, you don't want to hear how that's going. Well, it's really not so bad, just the teacher got the class at the last minute and he doesn't act like he really wants to do anything with it. There are absolutely NO extra materials for us to review. You know, that might aid our learning this material. All we do it read the chapter, answer the questions. Watch the video, answer the questions. We do that for three chapters and then it's test time. That's it. The book can be interesting, so that's good! So, there you have it. Aside from that, I'm still sitting in two other classes taking notes and tutoring. Also work for the Math teacher. I've been working for her for a year and a half now and will probably work another year and a half until I graduate in Spring '08. I really like her, she's a sweetie! And she's got a lovely British accent! She calls me "luvie". I just love it! ![]() So, how about everyone else? How's your school work coming? |

Wow, Tru, you have a busy schedule! it sounds like you're enjoying it, though, it sounds like parts of it are fun
And guitar lessons? how neat!!! My schoolwork? Eh. I guess I really can't complain, unlike a lot of ppl here I'm not employed or in college, I'm just a lowly sophomore in high school, so anything I complain about is kinda second nature to all you guys Lol, but for me at least, I guess its not that bad, I mean honestly school isnt that bad bc you get to see your friends and some classes are interesting or even fun (for me at least, i LOVE my lit class) but homework and the weekly test load certainly are not enjoyable, But I can't really complain... it could be a lot worse, and I'm doing well in all my classes, and plus when you think about it, we've only got a couple months left and then its SUMMER!!ps:: 800 posts!!

I know this is way late, but I couldn't see skipping class for a film I'd already seen before (even if I hadn't seen it on th ebig screen before). Half the time in theaters, you can't get a decent seat, anyway, and it's noisy, etc. Would prefer to watch a movie at home almost always (the sound is often too loud for me in theaters, as well). I will say they have better popcorn than I can make!
WHat kind of style guitar are you playing, Tru? As to classes, I took a couple of 2-day courses over the last few months on Dreamweaver, Flash, and CSS. Learned a lot, but have not had time to apply much of it yet, alas, so I'm afraid I'm going to forget much of it. Use it or lose it, as they say... Are your classes about over? The semester here just ended last week. |

Well, you know what they say, Null...better late than never!
You know, I like viewing movies at home too. For one you can stop them and answer the phone, the door, or put in another load of laundry, fix yourself a drink or get a bowl of ice cream (and of course, go to the bathroon) all without missing a bit of the action! ![]() My Spring semester is over. I haven't gotten my report card yet though. I'm very anxious about what I made in guitar. I don't want it to ruin my GPA! I play the classical guitar, well, that's what kind of lessons I was taking anyway. I really enjoyed it, but I won't be taking it again in the Fall because I have too many other Web courses to take. I'll miss it and, like you said, I'll probably lose it 'cause I don't have time to practice any more since I really don't have to. It really took up a lot of time! Our semester ended last week too, but today's the first day of summer school! It was great! I'm taking notes in the Dreamweaver (Dw) class (I took the class last summer). This is going to be a good refresher course for me. Even though I've been working in Dw, I don't remember everything we did in the class! For my own classes, I have Advanced Internet Multimedia and Advanced Markup and Scripting, which is JavaScript, basically.
It's going to be a fun summer!
Where did you find a two day course on Dw? Oh, and I'm taking Flash in the Fall. ![]() |
