It's just one of those films which gets mentioned from time to time, I heard of it ages ago, back when I was still in single figure ages, but I've never been interested in seeing it, is that wrong of me?

I'm a cinema fan, not really buff, I'm too skinny to be buff, but I do know my stuff, so maybe one day, it's probably on my list of films to see... somewhere, since with crossing off so many I wanted to see I'm left with a load of classics, probably some modern ones in there somewhere, but mostly classics.

That is a lot of doubles, Xena's not a common name, but obviously her appearance is a bit common, poor Xena, she's not so unique with all those lookalikes running around pretending to be her. Gabrielle and Joxer had doubles too? that's craziness, was any of the Joxer doubles really good fighters, or were they all bumbling comic relief characters?

Yeah, poor Xena, there were a lot of people pretending to be her at different points, all those look alikes, and even Callisto was telling people she was Xena to sully Xena's good name, so sad. If I'm not mixing up their names (I hope, I hope, I hope), then Joxer's brother Jett was an assassin, and he was actually good at what he did. He wasn't bumbling, like Joxer, he was a good killer, and supposedly scary (although, it was a comedy episode, so he wasn't that scary, lol). Jace was a gay singer/dancer guy. He wasn't bumbling, rather good at dancing and all that, he wasn't a fighter, though, so who knows how he would have been if in a sword fight.

I'm glad people like my signature, I said I was going to change it at Halloween, the Army of Darkness one was cool but the Alien Queen stomps all over that

Cha, the Queen rocks the house, I'm glad it's this one, it rocks. :D

Will

Why aren't you going to rent it? It's the greatest film ever! Literally!

No! Robin Hood: Men in Tights is! Literally!

Meh, Citizen Kane is just so boring. I really don't blame anybody for not wanting to watch it, even if it is supposedly a masterpiece.

It is the BEST MOVIE EVER!!!

Well, the one I like the most, anyway, and it's really just an enjoyment factor thing, but movies should be enjoyed, not endured, so yes, I think it's the best movie ever. :D

"My name is Asneeze, father of Achoo."

"Bless you."

I don't think you have to be a cinema buff to understand Citizen Kane. Rosebud was his sled, fine. He was a miserable old man remembering the one thing in life that brought him joy from his childhood. It's not that deep. And it's just so boring...

Eek, even Callisto? she's psychotic, although with Xena's warlord reputation I can see how people might think they're the same person. :wild1: He had an assassin brother, that I think I can see, Joxer is supposed to be from a warrior family, so some of his relatives should be good fighters, although a gay singer and dancer I'm not sure I can see, I think that's one of those episodes I need to see when it comes around, been missing it a lot just lately.

I'm sure you'll like some of my future signature pictures, one's a classic for sure, I do have a few sillier ones, but there's definitely some greatness coming. :D

All cinema is based around it!

There were films before Citizen Kane, which paved the way for future movies, silent comedies gave way to modern action, Jackie Chan's obviously in that style and even POTC, they referenced pretty heavily one short during the wheel fight, and those came before Citizen Kane, so not all cinema is based around it, not to be all cinema buff-like but that's pretty much the point of this thread so I have to.

Well you couldn't really say that one film did do it all, though I do know it influenced lot of stuff.

I mean in making that he would probably have been influenced by stuff that came before and in turn influenced the stuff that came after, which would go on to influence what comes next and so on.

Does that make any sense?

Dizzy, it's about reporters doing a news story on the richest man in the world, Charles Foster Kane. They interview his friends and family and try to see what he was like.
