So I shouldn't go rushing to rent Citizen Kane tomb? I wasn't going to anyway lol...

Nah, you're fine. There are plenty of older movies that are actually good that you could watch instead. Watch Gone with the Wind. There, that's a good old film. Two years older than Citizen Kane, too. Boo yeah!

Will

All cinema is based around it!

I actually think Birth of a Nation has a higher claim to that title (please, nobody watch Birth of a Nation, it's a horrible film  ). I actually did sit through that one. Was really hard... wanted to fall asleep quite often. Very racist film, too... anyway... it pioneered a lot of camera techniques and such. Weird, because I really didn't like a lot of camera techniques used in it. Ah, well.

All cinema's based on what came before it, like Loonie said, so really you can't pick one film from the forties and say that it's what all film was based on. Movies had been around for about forty years by then.

Steven

Eek, even Callisto? she's psychotic, although with Xena's warlord reputation I can see how people might think they're the same person.

Yeah, it's not too much of a leap there, really, when you consider the old Xena. I guess the old Xena still had more self control and wasn't as self-destructive, though. And was brunette.

Steven

He had an assassin brother, that I think I can see, Joxer is supposed to be from a warrior family, so some of his relatives should be good fighters, although a gay singer and dancer I'm not sure I can see, I think that's one of those episodes I need to see when it comes around, been missing it a lot just lately.

The dancer brother's in the episode "Lyre Lyre, Hearts on Fire" from season 5. So, yeah, if you're in season five watch out for it. it's a musical episode. I love it. It's different than any other episode, for sure, but it's one of my favorites. Both musical episodes are, actually, but they're so different from each other.

Steven

I'm sure you'll like some of my future signature pictures, one's a classic for sure, I do have a few sillier ones, but there's definitely some greatness coming.

I look forward to it.

Dizzy

But, Tomb, I shall try to rent some Xena.

Sweet. :yay:

Dizzy

Whats Citizen Kane about then? I may reconsider.

Don't reconsider!

Meh, it's like Will said. This dude's last word before he died was "Rosebud." All the reporters want to discover who Rosebud was, thinking it was a lost love or something. Turns out it was his sled from when he was a kid. He was a miserable rich old man and it's one of those "Joy is in the simple things" and "You don't need money to find happiness" kind of messages. Yeah, we already all have heard that message a million times. I'm not going to sit through a boring movie just to be preached that message again. *sigh*

Ugh, I shant go rushing to see THAT then. And Will, now I know what the plot is i can definitely say, all cinema is NOT based around it.
That sounds like a boring film :P

Callisto is pretty scary at times, she's just psychotic with her veins filled with rage instead of blood, and she does all that crazy shouting as well, maybe Xena should have tattooed her or something, leave a "I'm not Xena" mark on her so people wouldn't confuse the two anymore. :wild1:

There were musical episodes? I need to see those! :o I think it's in season three at the moment, I really haven't seen so many of them while they've been on, must try and watch more of them, even if they are on early so I miss them with getting up late or something.

I think this is just one of those places where people's opinions differ entirely, it's ok if some people find something boring as if everyone enjoyed the same things there'd be nothing to talk about, I find things boring sometimes which other people like, like last night I was flicking around the TV channels and watched a bit of the American remake of The Office, what the crap? when I heard it lacked the subtleties of the original I thought that meant it'd be funny as the original version is painfully dull and unfunny, but the new one... ugh, that managed to be even worser, I felt like I was staring into an abyss and had to escape from it as quickly as I could, on the plus side, wrestling was on so I watched that instead.

Well, that's a matter of opinion... but I've sat through some really slow, dull, boring movies in my day... and I couldn't make it through Citizen Kane. So sad. :(

Thank you!

Ooh, Callisto's shouting is crazy, very primal, Xena's is really... well, it is its own thing, lol, but Callisto's is just this completely angry, hate-filled, blood-curdling yell. She's awesome, really. Haha, I can just see Xena carrying this brand around with her, and any time someone pretends to be her or looks like her she just brands them, that'd be hilarious.

Yes, you need to see those!!! I  the musical episodes! Seriously, they really are two of my favorite episodes. The other one is "The Bitter Suite," and it's from Season 3, so look out for it! They go to the land of Illusia... OOOOOOOoooooooOOOOOOOOOoooooo, lol. But, it's great, because going there is the only way Xena and Gabrielle could get past all the junk they'd done to each other in Season 3 (although, really, I always thought Gabrielle was just being whiney, Xena's the one who was really hurt that season, Gabrielle was just projecting all the bad stuff that happened to her onto Xena, stupid blondie <_< ). No, I like Gabrielle, it just annoyed me that she was mad at Xena when Xena had way more to be mad about.

Ah yes, differences. That's my dad's favorite TV show, lol. Gah, he makes statements like, "It's the greatest TV show on TV, bar none," and if I don't agree with him he gets all mad. He really ticks me off sometimes. <_<

Xena sounds happy compared to Callisto, that little "ai-ee-ee-ee-ee" sound isn't really that scary, it sounds cool, but I don't think it puts fear into people when she does it during battle, if Callisto did her growls during battle everyone would get so scared they'd run away. She should have had a brand, after three people who look like her she'd need something so people could tell the difference between them. :wild1:

I'll try and catch them, but the channel's stopped showing Xena during the week, I saw yesterday, they're showing Cops instead, of all the things to replace Xena with! I think they're still showing it at the weekends, so I'll try to see it. :( Xena and Gabrielle were doing stuff to each other? and I missed that? :o I'll have to try and see, I think that's something I need to see!

That's what people here were like, in all the papers and stuff when the original version of The Office was on, and I just thought it wasn't funny, I saw it a few times but I was so bored, and the remake bored me more, at least the guy in the original had a slightly amusing voice. :wild1:

Feeling young isn't bad, it's quite good, because it means you're not old yet.

I know about Shaun of the Dead as well! it's so funny and I like spotting all the little references to other zombie films, no idea why, but when I see one I feel so smartsy for knowing where it's from. :wild1:

Yay, we both know about that! :wild1:

I can't quote it much, so much of it includes naughty words, but at the cinema earlier there was the trailer for their next film again, yay! :yay:

Anyway, it's good, and it has Davy Jones in it, and one half of Darth Maul, because the guy who plays the meanie flatmate did the voice of the horny Sith Lord, since the guy who you can see as Darth Maul sounds pretty crap when he talks, if you've seen X-Men you'd know, interesting fact there for you, I'm full of them.
