Some people here have actually already seen an older version of one of them, but these were somewhat inspired by the "Uncle Sam Wants You!" posters (for those who don't know what those are, those were recruitment posts, no clue which branch of service, but US (United States) fit "Uncle Sam" somehow...really don't know how, but it usually had him pointing out of the poster at the person reading it), but these have moved quite far away from the source. Anyhoo...

Royal Navy

Marines

They're more tongue-in-cheek than serious...that must be mentioned...

Ooh, Alia, I saw the Navy one on AG before, and it's still funny. The Marines one was good! I especially liked the whole 'be confused with the army for the duration of the movie' part.

What Tomb said. :P

The respective colour themes are very nice. They're fitting, of course, but they're not too exaggerated, which is good; they still look natural.

Mmm.... Tight breeches...

Shameless reviving of an older thread, but I'm re-stating my thoughts on the posters. Simply brilliant, in other words. The Marines one in particular makes me laugh every time I see it.

 Thanks everyone for the comments. You guys are too kind.

Actually, since I know that all the Navy/Marine fans are a bit of a minority here, and I had the time and inclination, I made this...and since the inspiration for this one was Dutch, I think it's only fair that the dedication should go to her for it.

Join the Pirates!

And...that should just about wrap up all my versions of these for PotC, unless the sudden inclinations strikes me to do one for the EITCo. From here on out, I'm going back to the Master & Commander and Horatio Hornblower fandoms for these types of graphics.

The Navy and Marine ones were cute,
but I love the Pirate one.

Hehe, that was funny about the dental, Alia. The end was kind of sad ("a short life"), but true. Poor pirates. ;)

I was inspiration?

"Being drunk is part of the job" - does sound nice, doesn't it? :D

And as for the dental... Everytime I think one of my teeth hurts even the tiniest bit, I wonder if the dentist's going to have to take it out, and hope I can get a gold one instead. (I don't question my sanity; I know I don't have one.)

I think I'll pass, thank you...I rather enjoy being completely in control of what I say. Bad enough some of the things I say when I am sober, I can't imagine what I would say drunk...

I'm certainly retitling this thread a lot. I'm glad everyone enjoyed the pirate one so much. I'm not sure I found it quite as funny as everyone else, but hey...as long as others like it.

I don't know how many people here read Horatio Hornblower (or alternatively have seen the TV movies) but this next one comes from the Fourth TV movie (titled in the US as "the Wrong War,") and for a change in pace, is all about the lobsters. ;)

Yeah, but at least then you wouldn't worry about it.

The lobsters and the frogs... Still the silliest mental image ever.

Wasn't impressed with that movie in that Hornblower was awfully preoccupied with the girl. That wasn't in the book at all, was it? I can't remember how the story really went, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't it. I think they may have wanted to borrow Marie in case they wouldn't get that far with the movies, or something.

Great work, as always.

Nope, wasn't in the book. He doesn't get any girls until Maria. And we all know how well that works out and everything...I was so upset when he proposed to her.

The story was somewhat similiar, but like all the A&E Hornblower movies they've greatly changed things. Edrington, however, was cool and sexy no matter what version he was in.

< Is clearly nuts.

Thanks. :) Blue's a nice color, it's my favorite to work with, despite the fact that it isn't my favorite color. Weird, huh?

New one! Back to PotC for the moment to debut the all new, new heading, new fonts, new style...East India Co poster.

There are some pictures from the AWE trailer (two to be precise) so for those who wish to avoid spoilers I highly recommend against following the link.

The East India Co....
