We're in the last few weeks before the release of the new Nintendo console. What are your hopes, dreams and expectations for Nintendo's latest platform? Will |

I just hope I can play the games and not get tired of them in 20 minutes and them go play Xbox 360. Really, once the gimmick controller fades away I'm going to wonder why I bouight it and not a PS3... So I hope they get some good games for it... Hopefully another Tales or Final Fantasy (And not a crappy Crystal Chronicles, either)... I guess I'll see how good it is in 7 days... |

 It's a weird name for anything. <_< They should have sticked with Revolution... At least it could lead to some funny conversations!
In all seriousness, it's called the Wii to emphasizes that the console is for everyone. The two i in it stand for either two players playing it together, or the Wiimote. |

When I have my Wii I will invite my friends around to see my Wii. If they're nice to me I'll let them play with my Wii. I know I'll have to learn to control my Wii properly. I need a Wii, Will |

My little brother wants one. He said someone told him it plays Gamecube, N64, NES, and Supernintendo games, too. |

We might get a Wii but in all seriousness, if we got one, I wouldn't use it as much as my Gamecube. My dad and my brother are the big gamers. I like my Zelda, my Paper Mario, my Sonic, and my Super Smash Brothers. Ocassionally I'll play something else, but I never play shooting games or any of that other stuff.. its just not me, I like my nice, cutesy games, or in Zelda's case, games where you dont actually kill people or if you do you just smash the B button and forget about ammo. I love the strategy of Zelda but it doesnt have the "gorefest". I LOVE any Zelda game... im super excited for Twilight Princess! So if we got a Wii I might play that. But I'm getting it for myself, for my Gamecube. I love my gamecube.. nothing is better than that and N64.. so simple and easy to use... and Link is LEFT HANDED IN IT! ok i wont start my rant. But really. I'm not a big video gaming techie person. I like my computer and my Zelda. If Wind Waker, Sonic 2 Battle, and Paper Mario 2 were available on N64, and the controller was the same as gamecubes, I'd probably still use that... no memory cards, and plus so of the best games of all time, Banjo Kazooie and Jet Force Gemeni. ![]() The Wii looks neat bc its different, and its Nintendo, so its bound to be good. From my non-gamer perspective it looks like fun but I don't need one.. when my dad gets one, we'll see, I may fall in love with its amazing graphics and lack of memory cards You'll have to tell me if its worth the struggle itll be to get ur hands on one!

It won't be a struggle if we preorder ours from Game. The Wii will be able to play all retro Nintendo games from all previous platforms plus old Sega games. These will be downloadable and one will be able to buy them with Nintendo points, apparently. There will be the 'classic controller' as well as the well publicised nunchuk. It will be compatible with the Gamecube discs and controllers too. In my house we'll still have our Gamecube but that'll be for the ultimate luxury of playing Rogue Squadron in bed. As mentioned in the DS thread with the wireless, tilt sensitive remote controller it's only a matter of time before Lucasarts release the first 'jump around and really go for it' Jedi Lightsabre game. The remote has a speaker built into it from which will emanate those 'Mwoom mwoom' noises we're all waiting to hear. Obi Will Kenobi |

It plays Gamecube discs, and you can download NES, SNES, N64 (:yay:), Genesis, and Turbographics games. Have they announced if they're only first party games yet, or is it third party too? Please let it be third party!!! I want my Final Fantasy!! Oh, and Fishy... Jet Force Gemini and Banjo Kazooie will NOT be able to be downloaded, even if it's third party... Nintendo sold their shares in Rare to Microsoft a few years ago. With Rare went their franchises, which include Jet Force Gemini and Banjo Kazooie (They wanted Star Fox and Donkey Kong, too! Thank god they didn't get them!). And I highly doubt Microsoft will let them have thier games for download. Especially since they're making the new Banjo game for the 360... Shame. Since that happens, and since Sony partially owns Square Enix.... No! I want my Final Fantasy!

The Wii is just about the stupidest name I've ever heard, I wonder how long the people at Nintendo spent thinking of that? Worker 1: I think we should call it the FunBox. Worker 2: No, how about the TechnoJoy? Worker 1: The Joygasmatron! Worker 2: That's just suggestive, if people playing with themselves is bad enough as it is, you might as well just call it the Wii! Yeah, I'm sure it went down something like that.
