OMFG!!!

Sorry, I don't usually lapse into Internet lingo, but seriously this movie just blew my mind!! I would totally put it up for a few Oscars, including Best Director and even Best Picture!!! Granted I haven't seen a lot of the other flicks out now, but......OMFG!!!

First of all - first impressions. Mine was just - wow. I left the movie going: "Wow." The whole secret about it is just beautifully interwoven, and though I was totally able to put it together at the end, it still caught me by surprise!! Such a gorgeous, clever movie!

Anyone?

:ph43r: Meh. It was alright... It could get a few Oscar noms, but Best Picture and Director? I don't think so...

Although, I must say... David Bowie for Best Supporting Actor!

I mean, come on... It's David Bowie...

...Space Oddity...

 Hey! If they can give an award to Cher they can give one to David!

Um. I thought it was kinda predictable.

Although, Hugh was rather nice to look at.
And I was kinda sad about the ending...
It was good. I'd buy it.

Personally, I love this movie and agree it could get Oscar nods but lets add Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor to that list of possibilities.
Like Kriss I was sad about the ending but then I just loved how the story progressed and all was eventually revealed, the whole setup is like a magic trick and that I think is the beauty of it you are left watching closely and guessing like those people in the film audience even long after the credits roll and if you go with friends-its a discussion waiting to happen(one that I'm afraid has to be kept as secret as the illusion methods in the film-one kept among those who have seen it and that cannot be revealed to those who have yet to see it).
The other thing is, and this is speaking as someone who has seen it 4 times and plans to continue seeing it when the dvd comes out(please hurry with that lol), is that if one does go see it again or more than 2 times you pick up on things you previously failed to pick up on prior to that viewing.
But in all I love and highly reccomend this film-with this warning to those who haven;t seen it yet...pay very close attention to all you see cause each detail no matter how small plays a big part in the end.

I saw it today and loved it, I really like magic stuff, for some reason I like being fooled like that and the way the film was with the whole misdirection, it seriously had me guessing for a long time, until I caught onto one detail and figured out the entire thing before the explaination came, well almost, I still had one surprise in there but I'd still recommend it as it's too rare to see an enjoyable film with bags load of originality. :D

I just saw this movie, and it was intense! I figured out some of it, but other parts I didn't expect.

Okay, we're having a debate in this household. (I've spoilerized bits of it in case someone hasn't seen it yet.) At the end, when you see Hugh Jackman in the tank, is he dead or is he yet another double? My sister claims the first (she said she saw other shadows of bodies in the other tanks), and my mom claims the second. I can't decide which one to believe. Anyone know for sure?

I liked it. I didnt think it was very predictable. I mean yes people will figure the ending out. You cant make a movie that people wont guess the ending unless its something really random that makes no sense.

Anyways, I believe the first one, but then again we already discussed this on the way home didnt we? Rember when he shot himself? That explains it all.

And two more things I wondered about the end. Wouldn't Hugh Jackman make an extra copy of himself just in case? And I still dont believe that Christian Bale's brother died. I think being a magician he could figure out a way to escape. Maybe there'll be a sequal? That could be good.

Eek, I'm so not sure about it, I figured out the ending when Bale saw the trap door in the trick, but Hugh isn't transported, it's a copy being sent to a location, the trap door drops him into the tank and kills him, so I guess the real Hugh is dead, although why would he kill himself?

That's something to wonder about I guess.
