I haven't seen the first two... well, I've seen Desperado, but not in a really long time. Are they anywhere near as good as the glorious craziness of Once Upon a Time in Mexico?

Desperado is my favourite of the films, OUTIM is fun but it doesn't have the same grab that Desperado has, and the story is a bit over the place so it's more random as well, yeah, Desperado is definitely the best of them, I have seen El Mariachi but it's mostly the same film Desperado is, only cheaper and less cool, still fun though, and it doesn't last so long so even if you don't like it it's not like you've wasted a lot of time on it.

Wolf, Rogue has just asked you in your graphics thread, but I'll repeat the question here: could you please not post big pics? Say... nothing bigger than 500x500 pixels? You can use thumbnails or links for bigger pics.
The big pics are seriously slowing down the loading of threads for some people. (Yes, there are still people with dial-up and such.) Please be nice to them and do not post big pics.
Also, please don't post multiple pics - except of course in your graphics thread.

I actually haven't ever seen El Mariachi. I've rented it, but I never got around to actually watching it.

But Desperado... Whoa! There's a good action movie! The machine gun guitar case = greatness. A real classic.

Plus, Salma Hayek... mein gott...

Ah, but One Upon A Time In Mexico... I hated that one. Seemed like it was just a cash grab. I would have prefered if they went with a lower budget kind of thing...

But Johnny is in it, so that's a redeeming feature. Still not a good movie, though.

Man. I havent seen any of these movies. But you know hat I have seen - Nacho Libre. Thats a funny movie. I think it's kind of supposed to be making fun of these, but mostly just being weird.

Naaaaaaaaaachoooooo!

I don't think that one was making fun of the Mariachi films, Mexican action with similar locations since it is in Mexico, but the bit with the band, that did remind me of how bad Antonio sounds at times.

The films rock, I think the big problem with Once Upon A Time In Mexico is it's too... silly, it's cool but some of it is too unbelievable, also Johnny totally steals a bit from Battle Royale at one point, which is so wrong.

I, on the other hand think it's so right. But, then again, I'm a woman who loves gorgeous black-hair, brown-eyed men.

I loved Desperado, especially the one part where Quentin Tarantino told that joke. Also, I liked the part in the beginning where Antonio's character was being exaggerated by Steve Buscemi. Most ingenious. That little board above the door in that scene was a nice touch. It said: "The customer is always wrong." :D As a waitress I wanted to put up that board in the restaurant where I worked because I wanted it to be true so many times.

Once Upon A Time in Mexico had the brilliant Johnny Depp. 'Nuff said.
I liked his lines. Like this little exchange with Antonio:
"You want me to shoot the cook?"
"No, I'll shoot the cook, my car's parked out back anyway."
Too bad about his pretty eyes. :(

Frankly, I like most of Robert Rodriguez's work.

Actually it's the eyes thing which was copied, I'll do this in spoilers tags but: both films have a character blinded with blood in that weird pattern down the face having to locate on sounds to do that funny spinning shooting thing, it's the same look, same movement, it's annoying yeah, if they hadn't have copied then Johnny would have been just fine, so that's one reason you should think "grr, why do that?"

Or: Link Best I can find, but those little pictures show what I'm on about.
