I watched this one again last night and enjoyed it as always. I love Love Actually, actually. It's one of a handful of movies with the power to make me cry. If I know other people will be watching it with me, I take into the livingroom with me a bunch of flowers so I can blame the tears on pollen.
Who loves this movie too? Who hates it? Who's neither for or against it? |

I love it! I have said dvd, been a while since I watched it though. I always feel ad for those ones that got left alone, like that quine that was in resident evil 2 and her with the loopy brother. Wish I had something as romantic happen to me like whats in the film, *sigh* |

Loonie, looks like it's only you and I who likes this movie.
Maybe it's only you and I who ever saw it. Wait, why am I laughing? That's terrible.
Anyways...I have a Love Actually story to tell. The first time I saw it, was in Scotland actually. Wow, Loonie, that's a cool coincidence, hey? I was there on vacation with my friends with whom I lived with for 6 months, we lived in England. In England, I fell for an amazing, silent, gorgeous young guy. It was a doomed longing though, he didn't see me in the same way as I saw him. Anyways, on this vacation in Scotland, I rented Love Actually and watched it. I was not thinking about the guy I liked until I saw Karl. Oof, they looked alike! Karl's mannerisms was even like this bloke I fancied. The story of Sarah and Karl now reminds me of my own story. (Only difference is I never kissed my bloke.)On to brighter things, the man I love most in this movie is Bily Mack! Bill Nighy is one of my absolute favourites now. ![]() It's so funny to watch Love Actually with the commentary, Bill Nighy keeps saying how ugly he is and I think "No, you're not!" ![]() Speaking of the commentary, it's my favourite commentary of any movie so far. Hugh Grant is funny in a rude kind of way. He kept saying "Oh, get out." when he hears something interesting and at one point he added "No, really, get out." Hehe, funny. Another point of interest in the commentary was Richard Curtis telling the audience that he once asked Keira Knightley what she was going to work on next and she told him she was going to be in Pirates of the Caribbean. He then told her that pirate movies always flop, she should rather do something else. And all the while the future Davy Jones was sitting next to him.
O, I love coincidences.

I LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! It's absolutley fantastic. I have to say my favourite story is Daniel and his stepson, but then again, I've always had liking for Liam Neeson. The Prime Minister and his secretary is also a lovely one, as is the writer and his maid (Bloody hell, I've forgotten all their names). I have to go and watch this again soon. After all, it's nearly Christmas, the season when love, actually, is all around. |

At the risk of really upsetting Su (which I can't quite imagine happening, btw :P) I must say that of all the stories in this movie *whispers* I couldn't stand the one with Bill Nighy. Every time I watch the movie I zoom through his parts.. My favorite storyline was Jamie (Colin Firth) and Aurelia. But Emma Thompson's emotional performance after her character received the Christmas gift - absolutely brilliant. |

I liked the bit near the end when the little boy made a dash through the aeroport to catch that girl just before she left, aww, that was sweet

I'm not upset, I'm not upset...*drinks a calming drink* ![]() Nah, no worries Xena, I know that Billy Mack is not to everyone's liking. I once showed Love Actually to my sister and she couldn't stand Billy as well.
Aye Becca! I liked Sam's story too and I loved it that Joanna actually knew his name. *sigh* Such a cute story. I especially like the little hint to angels helping out. Rowan Atkinson's character was supposed to be revealed as being an angel but they decided that there was already so much going on...or something. Richard Curtis mentioned it in the commentary, at the part where Rowan was wrapping the gift in the store.

I've just been watching the commentary, it's friggin hillarious! I especially liked how that the whole all you need is love wedding bit is based on Jim Hensons funeral I had read that he mentioned it in the commentary but the fact that the scene was in tribute to him didn't click untill he actually said so, yep sometimes I require a sledge hammer
You just now Jim Henson would of loved that. |

I finally saw Love Actually tonight, and I loved it! The reason it's taken me so long to see it is that I was trying to find an edited version (I prefer not to see some of the questionable stuff), which was more difficult than I thought it would be. This was such a sweet movie! It was seriously amazing. I don't know if I could pick a favorite part or a favorite character. I loved all the storylines. See, I start trying to narrow it down: "Well, I really liked the little boy, Sam... oh, but David and Natalie were so cute, too!... oh, but the whole scene with Juliet and the cue cards... and she learned English to be with Jamie!... and Emma Thompson was amazing... oh, but Bill Nighy made me laugh so hard..." and then I can't stop and I've ended up deciding that the whole movie is my favorite part! |

Hear, hear! Even better if Johnny Depp was involved! Lol I watched this last week (straight after our Pirates marathon- very exhausting day, lol). Still makes me cry when Jamie's asking Aurelia to marry him. I love Sam though - he's so cute! Ooh, Colin - Mr. Off-To-America - he's great! Aaw, I wanna watch it again now! |

I just love this movie! Can't really pick a favourite storyline (they're all so great!) but I especially love the scene with Juliet and Mark and the signs (To me, you're perfect, awe ^_^) and Natalie's Christmas Card (if you can't say it at Christmas, when can you, eh? I'm actually yours)
The movie focusses so much on love (duh I know *pokes title* I'm not thát stupid
but I'm just trying to tell something) and it's a Christmas movie, so it made me quiet 'reckless' when I watched it the other day. I sent my crush a card with the line "if you can't say it at Christmas, when can you, eh?" and asked him out
but yeah, it turned out well, he got the message...
lol
