Personally, I think it's sick and I would never see it no matter how much you paid me. I dont really watch these movies anyways, but come on-- its Christmas. They shouldnt ruin it with a movie like this. It's not so bad that it exists, but there are ads all over for it. I just cant get away from it. Maybe you guys like it. Maybe you think its messed up. I dont know. What do you guys think? |

I also agree with you. It's way messed up. I mean like, the movie already looks so stupid and I don't even think anyone in their right minds would go and see it. It just completely ruins Christmas. It's just.....idk I hate it.

Oh, they've already ruined Christmas, Eye. Don't kid yourself. Eyemcool, get the name of the topic changed. Black Christmas is probably the greatest Canadian movie ever. If your going to complain about the promotion of the remake, make it clearer. But really, what's the big deal? It's on Christmas. Oh my god, run to the hills. It's not like anyone really cares about Christmas anymore. They only care about presents. To complain about a movie that's being opened on a holiday that has lost it's meaning is retarded. Besides, it's not like anyone would go see it anyway. People will be too busy opening their presents and spending time with relatives that you hate soo much you want to knock their teeth out with a hammer. Stop complaining and go rent the original Black Christmas. See how dumb all your bickering is. |

Cold who are you to say Christmas has lost it's meaning? Ok fine it's some stupid movie, but my family still goes to church on Christmas and so does everyone else's families that I know. All of the churches are packed on Christmas every year over here so there is no way that it's lost it's meaning. No one is ever going to forget the true meaning of Christmas that's just retarded. I mean, I can see what you're saying though, like about how all it is is presents and santa and the tree, but like, everyone still knows what it's really about. Even if we don't really seem like we care about it, we do. That's why Black Christmas is such an icky movie to see. It ruins the happy, joyful part of the holiday and makes it stupid and fearful. So.....there. <_< EDIT-Cold, I'm sorry. Religion is just a touchy subject. I don't like it when people go putting it down like that, it pisses me off. So...yeah...carry on everyone. |

Steven Colbert said Black Christmas was the worst remake of White Christmas he ever heard of. If he's going to see a beautiful young woman get brutally murdered it better be Rosemary Cloony. Okay, that was just a bad joke to lighten the mood. Carry on. |

Darker Christmas films aren't anything new, my favourite festive films are the first two Die Hard films, and Gremlins, there's also that little film called The Nightmare Before Christmas which is full of all sorts of twisted creatures, there's other ones out there, and there'll be more, the most you can do is if you don't like it try to ignore it and concentrate on the happier times, because there are some people so depressed by the season these darker ones serve as a way of getting around it. Anyway, I think the real problem with this film is being avoided in this thread, and that's the fact the film looks craptastic. |

Nightmare Before Christmas kind of conveys the Christmas spirit. He does realize he shouldnt ruin Christams and he saves Santa. And Bloo- that was probably my favorite post of yours. I was going to say something back to Cold, but you pretty much said it all. |

Black Christmas is a 1974 Canadian horror movie. It's regarded as a horror classic, and it's a little known fact that Halloween was suggested as a sequel to it. They have the remake coming out in the 25th, but like Calm said it looks shitty. You should go out and rent the original, get the crap scared out of you.
<_< Someone who's family Christmas tradition involves watching the original Black Christmas, Bloo.
Until you actually see either of the movies, Bloo, you shouldn't really be talking like that. Don't forget that for some the holidays are depressing, and that's the audience they're going for with this movie. the ones that don't care about Christmas. If you care, then don't sit here and bitch about a movie your never going to even see.
Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movie. Don't kid yourself. Besides, nothing "ruins" (As the ever-smart Bloo put it  ) Christmas more than a bunch of dancing freaks and demonic presents. |

Um, wow, Cold... you sure do have opinions, don't you?
Nightmare Before Christmas is a Halloween movive, yes, but mostly a Christmas Movie.... Otherwise it would have Nightmare before Halloween as the title.... And Steven, I love Die Hard! Yippe ki aaayyy mothafawkahhh.
Anyways, I don't really want to see Black Christmas, it looks....reeeaallly baaadd... I would watch it once, but I doubt I'd watch it again. I'll probably rent it when it comes to DVD. |

Believe me I have some opinions too. 3 for now. 1. Contrary to your belief, just because something's Canadian doesn't make it amazing. I'm not insulting Canada and I'm not saying that there arent a lot of awesome Canadian things. But it is possible for something crappy to come from Canada -ex. a Christmas Spirit-less horror movie. 2. I'm assuming that you meant yourself when you said for some people, the holidays are depressing. If your Christams involves always watching the original, maybe you should think about a connection between those two. Just a thought. 3. I think maybe you need some Christmas Spirit. If I knew who your secret santa was, I would tell them to get you something full of Happy Christmas. Something that shows Christmas is more than dancing freaks and demonic presents. |

Urgh.... First of all, I take it you haven't seen the original Black Christmas, have you? It's not the fact it's Canadian that I like it, it's the fact it is a good movie. Jesus Christ. Just because something is Canadian doesn't mean I like it. It needs to be good. Black Christmas is a good movie. Go see it adn then prove me wrong. Secondly, why would I mean myself? I'm not a little 13 year old boy who can't afford to get what he wants for Christmas. I don't care for Christmas - Celebrating someone I don't believe in is a waste of time - but in no means am I depressed. Far from it. When did I say Christmas is dancing freaks and demonic presents? I said that's why Nightmare Before Christmas isn't a Christmas movie... |

I think I'm with Cold on this, I wouldn't say I don't believe in Jesus, I'm sure he did exist and was a nice guy, just history may have added a few exaggerations to make him sound even greater, I mean no offense, but history is full of stories with a few truths made larger than they really are, it's no new thing really, but behind all this there is a good story, and there's a season with a good meaning as long as you don't allow the corporate machine to bury it in greed, but not everyone has people to spend the season with so it can be lonely for some, a dark place, and for those the more evil seeming festive films have a place, anyway, it can't all be good cheer, bad things happen all year round and don't stop just because it's Christmas time, there's no "let's put down our guns for the day and not kill anyone because it's supposed to be a happy time", so to try and get rid of badness from the world just because of the season is like closing our eyes to make the horrors of humanity disappear. Anyway, Nightmare Before Christmas IS a Christmas movie, it's not called The Nightmare Before Easter or something, no, it can be viewed as a Halloween film but there's no snow or trees or even Santa in Halloween, so we're both right. |
