Borat deserves best actor, he made so many believe he was real, and I said back in September that Alfonso deserves best director, if he doesn't get it I'll be shocked.

Well, the only categories that had anything I saw (or for that matter had any interest whatsoever in seeing) were Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Song Best Director and Best Visual Effects. The ones I want to win are The Departed, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, You Know My Name, Alfonso Cuaron and Pirates. Other than that, I didn't see any of the other movies, nor wanted to. Happy Feet? Dreamgirls? No thanks.

Don't knock Happy Feet! I haven't had the chance to watch many of last year's films as I haven't really had any excess money with which to do so but I did see DMC, Snakes on a Plane and Happy Feet.

Yeah, don't be trashing Dreamgirls, it is supposed to be really good. And I chose Happy Feet because animated movies always win best song.

I've given most of mine, Chris Cornell should get best song but anything but The Departed for best film, if remakes start getting awards we'll never be free of them.

Well, in The Departed's defense, not many people saw the movie it was based on.

*Ahem*

*Taps foot while giving a stern look*

Maybe not in the US but the original got some darn good reviews and has got a following, at least in Europe and obviously Asia, it made a lot of money and even spawned two pretty good sequels because in the original they didn't kill the undercover gang member but that's Hollywood for you, always has to be "morally acceptable"

If a remake wins awards they'll keep them coming, soon no original film will win, and then what?

C'mon Calm, for every Departed there is a least 5 Psycho or Honeymooner remakes.

I wasn't talking about the awful remakes, just look at the movies coming out this year, mostly prequels, sequels and remakes, since people are running out of new ideas for even the prequels and sequels there's more remakes, next year, the year after, sure some are fun but they're getting to the point where some of our favourites are being remade, yep, Internal Affairs is definitely a favourite of mine, and soon Battle Royale will be remade, and Near Dark, two films which have never really been huge but they both have definite followings, and neither needs the remake treatment, any remake will most likely be a dumb gore-fest, which by what I heard is what The Departed is, but there's so many of them that Hollywood thinks it's a good idea to keep remaking, now if one wins an award, do you think that's going to fuel the amount of remakes coming up? I think so, they don't any respect, dumb fun maybe, but zero respect, we're being bombarded with remakes and the less respect they have the better as the more they get the more remakes there'll be.

So wait, you're judging The Departed without even seeing it?

If a remake came out of a film you really like and you don't want to see the remake since you like the original so much, is that judging? anyway, I'm not even arguing about the film, I'm just saying that a remake doesn't deserve to win, and it probably won't anyway, remember when Pulp Fiction lost out to Forrest Gump? The Departed's too violent to win, I haven't even seen it and all I've been told about is the stupid amount of headshots when the original just used sounds of shots and other subtle methods which added tension to it all, anyway, before I start rambling, my point is made. :P
