Bombed? but it was the most enjoyable film of last year. :o

I had a look at the Razzies, not seen so many of the films on there, probably means I have better taste than I thought I had.

In your opinion, maybe. But not in the opinion of the public.

And no nominations for Scary Movie 4? That movie was crap.

Indeed it was.

They have an interesting poll on IMDb today. Which movie got snubbed at the Oscars?

Top pick is No Best Picture for Children of Man.

Next pick is Nothing for Casino Royale.

Third was No Best Picture for Dreamgirls.

Glad to see people agree with us, eh?

I just saw the Last King of Scotland and it was fantastic. I think Forest Whitaker was brilliant. I'm so used to seeing him play 'big friendly guy' or 'police chief' or similar roles that I forgot how good an actor he really is. Loving scary when he wants to be too. He does deserve an Oscar but I think the same goes for James McAvoy. It's easy to overlook his performance with Whitaker being the dominant screen presence but that was the point of the film. Idi Amin was, by all accounts, a very charismatic chap in person, a certifiable lunatic but charismatic with it. Whitaker does a very good job in portraying this but McAvoy was superb in his role as an outsider who doesn't understand the way these regimes work and doesn't notice the insidious nature until it's too late for him to get out. Just because his character was not as strong it doesn't lessen his performance any.

It was a good film, but Forest totally became the character, he was so believable it was scary, and not just because of the guy's scary side either, but James should have gotten a nod too, his part was crucial in creating a likeable counterpart to the madness, and he did do well there.

Well McAvoy is nominated for the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA for the role so I wish him the best of luck. The BAFTA ceremony is on my birthday and it would be a nice birthday present indeed were he to win.

I hope he does get that, he certainly deserves it, not too fair if his co-star gets all the nominations and he doesn't, and the BAFTAs usually help give an idea as to what the Oscars turn out will be, although I do trust the BAFTA awards more than the Oscars, since the golden guy seems to be a pain in the aft end for snubbing people.

Little Miss Sunshine is getting alot of Best Film awards nowadays.

Dare I say it that it actually has a chance of upsetting The Departed or Babel?

You're not alone in thinking that.

The SAG Award may help it's chances. Think about what happened with Brokeback vs. Crash last year.

I think Little Miss Sunshine should be winning all of those awards. I caught about half of it on TV and really want to watch the rest... I thought it was really original and different, not to mention the acting was just great.

Crash though was always considered the only other one to win the award, though.

Sunshine is the darkhorse, but with all the recognition it's getting it's actually considered a frontrunner now.

Hope it wins, but then again Scorsese needs one...

 :censored: ...Eddie Murphy... was... robbed!!!!

:censored: He was supposed to win!! What happened?!

If Alan Arkin can beat him for Best Supporting Actor, Abigaile Breslin better win Best Supporting Actress! Or else!! :censored:

Also...

Listening now to Melissa Ethridge singing I Need to Wake Up, I've just realised I've lost all hope in the Oscars.

That trash got nominated when You Know My Name didn't?? God.
