And so Scorsese finally won Best Director. 'Bout time. The biggest news of the night, though, was Jack Nicholson's new hairdo. Or lack thereof. Good show. Was off on a few guesses, but for the most part I think I was on the mark... Pan's Labyrinth and The Departed were the two biggest winners, it seems. Wish Children of Man would have won something, though. |

No Eddie Murphy for Best Supporting Actor? He was better in Dreamgirls than Alan Arkin was in Little Miss Sunshine. (Even though I love LMS.) |

Yeah, that's insulting. Eddie was pretty much a guarentee to win. I reckon they only gave Arkin the Oscar to make up for it's laack of winning anything else important. |

Or because there were ads all over Hollywood featuring Murphy as a fat ugly black woman. Seriously, don't let Norbit and the Oscars come even close to each other. |

Steven Colbert said any actor who gains that much weight for a movie should win an Oscar automatically. Dare you argue with Steven Colbert? |

But he didn't really gain weight! It was a fat suit. I'm sorry, but a really stupid movie like Norbit ruins a guy's Oscar chances. |

I don't think it was Norbit. It had to have been all the buzz Sunshine was getting. They must have thought they would have been ridiculed if they didn't give it one big Oscar. And since they couldn't let Hudson lose, why not Murphy? |

Possibly. But Sunshine one Best Original Screenplay. It's not like it didn't win anything. |
