My friend has a thing about going to the big vue cinema thats an hour away kind of makes me think that our local cinema is pretty cheap by comparision, you are like 3 pound for a thing of popcorn that says it's small but is actually really big, too big where at our local cinema you get an actually small one for a pound.

Though most of the time I tend to get myself something at the nearest shop usually lollies, cheap and last through the whole film.

I voted "Neither." I usually eat nothing while I'm watching a movie.
Now and then I sneak in a roll of sweetarts. (Shh!)

Imma have to go with "popcorn" for this one. While chips are also a favorite, i tend to be a popcorn person overall. Its about my favorite snack.. not only at movies but crashing on the couch or doing homework or just eating a snack.. Lol I go through like a big bag of pre-popped white light popcorn a week for afterschool snacks... so definately for movies, its impossible for me to go without popcorn. Esp. in the theater, of course. But due to my popcorn addiction its typical that I finish it all before the movie even begins :D

I voted popcorn out of those choices. I can barely ever sit through a movie without popcorn. (And Dish, I have that same problem: Revenge and Dead Man's Chest midnight shows I ate all the popcorn right before the film started, so I couldn't go refill it.) Stuff I almost always get: large popcorn/large soda (I more oft than not watch 2 movies back to back, so thats just the sensible thing to do..... OK, I like to eat and its proportionally cheaper) and Goobers, Reese's Pieces, M&Ms/Peanut M&Ms or Buncha Crunch, one of those, depending on what they have. So basically, I always get popcorn and soda, and usually get one candy. And I save the large bag so I can go back some other day and refill it for free. (Why buy when you can refill? All one needs: the proper sized bag.)

 I would buy a pop too and candy, but at least where I live everything is terribly overpriced, so I stick to just the small butter popcorn and smuggle my own candy in if I want, lol. And lucky! I'd totally go for the refill large bag thing, but my theater got smart and now has big large tubs and not bags, and tubs certainly are far from foldable, so its a lost cause.

Speaking of which though, this reminds me of the first time I ever saw Pirates. I went with my best friend and her older sister, and we got a large tub of popcorn. We had gotten their early though bc my friend was obsessed with Orlando Bloom and didn't want to miss a minute (I was reluctantly dragged along). So during the 15 minutes until the movie started, the three of us finished all the popcorn! Of course there were refills, so we wanted more. But we were afraid that the movie would start at any minute, and so none of us wanted to leave... so in the end, we never got more popcorn, lol. To think! I almost missed the first five minutes of what turned out to be my favorite movie of all time over popcorn. Perhaps it was fate that kept me in my seat.

/rant :D

I've consumed approximately a metric ton of sweets, snacks, crisps and popcorn over the weekend and I have to say that microwave popcorn is one of mankind's greatest achievements. The wheel had its perks, fire looks good on paper (boom boom) but butter flavoured microwave popcorn might just be the human race's crowning glory.

 That should be printed out on a T-Shirt! I can see it now: black tee, just a big white logo: "Movie Nerd" on the front, then have that on the back. Amazing!!

I've come up with something way better.

Pizza, if I haven't eaten that day.

And if I have... Dairy group!

Milk Duds.

Pwnage.

Pizza? At a movie theater, or at home? It would cost a fortune at a theater, and far too messy, lol. Like I say, I'm a popcorn girl at heart. Theres something to be said for the delicious aroma of butter pocorn drifting from the bag, and eating it all before a movie starts, and that satisfying crunch when you eat it, lol, that becomes white noise after a while.

imma go with popcorn too on this one. It's the ultimate movie snack. You can't go to see a movie without your buttered popcorn and extra napkins handy unless you're skilled at the art of wiping all the grease off on your new jeans and shirt. Popcorn = amazingness

Up here, a slice of pizza and a large drink costs only about $5.

It's not Pizza hut or Domino's or anything, it's only a Pizza Pizza, but it's still real good. And the slices are about 4 times the size of a Pizza Hut one.

Plus, a whole pizza costs only $20. Joy.

<_< Lucky. In the US everything costs $10 more than it should cost. Candy that is normally like, 50 cents costs nearly $4, etc etc, I'm sure that a slice of pizza would be pushing ten. It sucks, lol. And our matinee prices only keep rising, at our normal theater, its up to 7.25, and our cheaper one is just over 5, and the best one with the comfy seats and larger screens is 9 bucks!! its ridiculous. Back in the day, a matinee was 5 bucks or less.

Well, in Canada everything costs 1/3 as much as it does in America, since our dollar is about 15 cents less than yours.

But I guess, since it's a canadian company, they can put their prices low. It's not like they're big, anyway. It's just a counter and a pizza cooking thing. nothing to it.

Oh, another thing that's good with films. Swedish Fish/Berries.

....

Now, I'm simply going to let this slide as you clearly expected me to respond and were egging me on.. but for future reference, CM, NEVER imply that I didnt of course mean swedish fishes before everything else! they are the KINGS of all candy!!!! and of course i LOVE them!!!!! esp. with movies!!!!!!

*munches swedish fish with that crazy/hungry look in her eyes that makes ppl back away slowly*

Ahem. Mightve gotten just a bit carried away there, it could have been an innocent remark... <_< But since its coming from CM, I doubt it.

*does that i-see-you gesture to CM and decides to stop spamming up the thread*

So anyways, I agree, swedish fish + movies = me, or, my obsession. SO therefore GOOD. ANd I think its funny that in Canada theyre called berries, lol. Not nearly as fun as fish.
