Okay - try to follow along now...

My name is Deirdre - and nobody can pronounce Deirdre. So, I tell folks to call me 'Dee', but some morons...I mean, some folks  ...think I say 'Bea'. So, I say, 'NO...'D' - as in Danger.' - I just squish it together, turn 'in' into 'N', and come up with dasNdanger...said like D as in Danger...NOT Das N Danger.

Das is a different story - since it's really D as - it should prolly sound like 'Diaz'. However, most people call me das - rhymes with 'ass'...

das

*feels sheepish*

Do you mind it that we call you das? By the way it's a really nice name...username.
Cool backstory.

I think my sn is just...well, pretty obvious.

Oh well... I guess I'll try to explain it.

Honestly, I don't know how I got this particular sn. One day, I was joining a board, and I really needed a username, so I thought of three words that sum me up pretty well and ended up with theatre savvy pirate. The more I thought about it, though, the more it made sense - I am rather theatre savvy (knowing alot about theatrical stuff - acting and tech work) and I really like pirates. I've also used Pyrate Queen and Regina Pirata before, but something about theatre savvy pirate seems to work. I think it's because the word 'savvy' is in there.

The exact origins of the name Kirebz shall probably never be known. One theorie however that has the support of most scollars is the Bashkian method.
In a time long pass the person now commonly reffered to as Reb made his entrance in the world of IMDb. The one up to then nameless one was believed to be descendant of the ancient culture of Bashkey.
One major tradition in Bashkian society for coming up with names is the uncontroled state of frenzy one is in while bashing away on a keybord. Trust is put in faith and desitny the outcome will be favourable and the best suited name for the occasion.

Passage found on a monolith from bashkian times:
"And After ye olde smoke cleared and dust settled, letters forming the most noble of words; KIREBZ could be made out, and the people rejoyced"

Becca, your background story is nice, bluebird eh?

I got my name as when I was signing up to IMDb I didn't know what to put, at the time I was listening to Rage Against The Machine and "Calm Like A Bomb" was playing, a few alterations and there it is, not too original, but the fact I only found that site because I was looking for Matrix Reloaded stuff and the song ended up in the film is pretty freaky coincidence me thinks.

Nice to know the full das-story! I'll admit it....I thought it was Das N Danger. But I've been pronouncing it Dazz not Dass  .

Personally I can't imagine calling you Dee or Bea or Diaz.....you'll always be Dazz (and now every time I watch POTC and get to the Mr Cotton's Parrot tongue-cutting scene I will always, always think of you when they show the shot of Jack that's in your avatar! )

Mine's pretty self explanatory, but here you go.
I practically grew up in California, and since I was no good at surfing, I boogie boarded, which was much easier, and a ton of fun. Now that I never get to go to California as often I miss it, but it's still a part of me. There you have it!

Okay I will play too. due to the lack of boring everyone with my incredibly long story, I will TRY to yo keep it short. in a Nutshell: I can't navigate a johnboat and I tend not to listen to the tide charts, which in my part of the world can can leave you " up the Creek" or "Out to sea" depending where you are when the tide goes out. :D

Well I'm sure most of the IMDb people will know my name by now (cause I've explained it to you all before) but for everyone else (and those that forgot)...

Way back in junior school I used to bite my nails (well okay so I still do). The other kids in my class made fun of me for it and called me "Nailbiter of the 20th Century" (no idea why). Anyway a couple of years later I was registering for another site and I needed a name. I though about that nickname and decided to shorten the "nailbiter" to NB and "of the 20th century" to 2000. The name kinda stuck and I've used it for pretty much every internet account since then (I use variations if NB2000 is already taken).

When I first started using it I though about changing it every year (NB2001, NB2002 etc.) but that seemed too confusing.

Mine's from my msn address (champ_n_choccie4eva), and I've just shortened it to Choccie. I use it everywhere, like on IMDb. I orignally got it because my first two horses that I used to ride, and then loaned, were called Champ and Chocolate (Choccie). Sadly they had to be put down, so it's sort of in memory of them I guess...

This is complex so watch carefully:

My first name is Will.
My middle name begins with K.
My surname is Williams.

When I first started using the internet I had different usernames for different sites. After a while it became difficult to remember who and where I was so I just went with my name using the K to break it up a little as Will Williams looks a bit like a written stutter.

AARGH! I dont remember how I got my name...
I know that 'Riot Girl' was a song I used to listen to a lot, and I requested it a bunch of school dances, and eventually some of my friends started calling me 'Riot'... which I didnt mind because I like it.

So, I took Riot girl and added some X, my favorite letter-for some strange reason..., and there you have it!

Greetings, all...

I have the same name on IMDb and C-B. A "nulldevice" is a concept from computer science.... it's basically like a black hole, so you can dump anything into it and it just plain disappears. So, I had to come up with something as a username, so I figured that most of what I write is nothing special or anything, and is hence expendible, and "nulldevice" sounds a bit more profound than "trashcan", so that's about it... On unix systems, the nulldevice is actually /dev/null which is why that's in my sig.

That's probably way more than most of you would ever want to know about it!
