There's no FAQ for it yet, I'll either find one sometime or do as I did with DMC and just get lucky when I try again, actually, that always seems to be the case, I was stuck on Transformers for months until one day I just tried again and blew everything up straight away, I hate when that happens. <_< |

I know exactly what you mean. I had that exact same problem in Spider-Man 3. Damn you Kraven! |

Oh my word, it happened again, after more attempts than I remember I gave up, then after I switched off tonight I thought why not, I pwned it in one, and now I unlocked Davy's sword which is so powerful I can't score good combos, which does seem to ask me to replay that one and unlock more, but for now I'm just happy I finished the main game.

... Will, Kraven was easy. What are you talking about?! Half the challenge of games is playing them without FAQS. I only go on those if I spend 2 hours at a puzzle and have no idea what to do. Other than that, I do it myself. A FAQ is pretty much having someone feeding you. It's easier, but your robbed of anything else. Plus, no one respects a cheater. Because that's all people who use that stuff really are. Cheaters. |

Well, someone certainly has a sunny disposition. ![]() I do agree on not cheating, if you spend loads on a game then to cheat through it is to waste the money you spent, and the feeling of satisfaction from finishing it is taken away, I only use FAQs as a last resort, like if I spend a few days or weeks without getting past one little bit, sometimes the answers come to me in my sleep, other times I just get lucky and complete after giving up and not finding any FAQs to help, but if there's no way then it's best to look, otherwise you've got an uncompleted game which is a waste of money as well, I don't mind using a FAQ for finding collectable items which are hidden away inside levels, as I just don't have the patience to play through a level repeatedly to find stuff, a couple of times maybe, but when it gets to ten it's a good idea to just find out where they are first. |

Cold, my point was that I spent ages on one level then I went back a day or two later and did it. There is no point in using an FAQ as a guide for getting through a game but if you're truly stuck then a hint or two can help. As Calm said, FAQs are good for finding hidden items and extras. If you're using it as your sole method of getting through the entire game then it is pointless, you might as well get someone else to play the game for you. Games are meant to be fun and there's nothing less fun or more frustrating than spending ages on one level only to be smacked down time and time again. |

Games are supposed to be hard, they'd be boring if they weren't, but sometimes they get too hard, I do find one of the funnest ways to get through a game is to have the controls passed around a few people until one gets it done, sure it's still not the best way, but it's more fun than cheating, I know there's been a few times I've finished off friends' games, like 24 and that weird challenge with all the Foley's on the last Smackdown, and there's been times when I've had a few levels played through on my games too, everyone has their own strengths, so someone can always do it. Moving away from topic now, but I pwned the last level of Loco Roco not so long ago, another one it took me a while to get past the last bit. |

Once my friend and I agreed to share an arcade game of Jurassic Park. I played for a minute or two and was pwning. Then I handed her the gun. And she was dead in ten seconds. Game over.
Anyway, I've been playing this. It's cute.

I'm currently playing Sid Meier's Pirates. I haven't played it in months, not since I got the 360 but today I felt like it. It's such a fun game. I got a new scart splitter the other day and I'm going to use the old one upstairs in our bedroom so that we can have the Gamecube and the original Xbox up there. This may mean that I'll turn into some super-reclusive, bedridden land whale with bed sores just playing Pirates all day. Joy! |

Today I started playing Oblivion. I was only going to try it out for ten minutes, bash a couple of goblins in the head and then get on with sitting around doing sweet FA. But no, more than five hours later I'm still enjoying it. I'm not normally one for the orcs, goblins and prophesied heroes, Middle-Earth-Lite type of games but this one is impressive. I made my character look as much like me as I could. This took several attempts to prevent him looking like he had some kind of genetic defect. It's nice to see a game where the voice acting is good, the graphics are good, the gameplay is good the plot's a little hokey but it's fun enough to overlook that, even the music's good. Not only that but it is frightfully addictive. |

I've been playing Pokemon games the past few... months? And thought I'd come share about that and other random games. Since I didn't have a Gameboy Advance till Steven gave me one, I had to make do with playing Pokemon on my phone and by use of an emulator on my computer. But I truly wish I had two Gameboys, a link cable and all the games so I can trade with myself. ...I sound quite pathetic when reading that. Anyways, my TR: Legend was stolen from my cousin a while back, but Steven and I got it real cheap from a store when he was here, yay! Now I'm looking forward to TR: Underworld. It looks amazing. I've also recently tried to design houses in Sims 2, but I think I suck at it, unfortunately. |

Aww, I'm sure your houses look awesome, I saw you made cool stuff while I was there, and you saw I made weird stuff, which was every single person I tried to create, but you make really good stuff, so don't talk down about that. Lately I haven't really been playing much, I got addicted to Lego Batman a few weeks back, which I got 99% completed at, I'll try finish that final 1% when I can, just to be a completist, but I haven't really been playing since then, maybe I should find something else to play?

Looking at my last post I can now say that I've spent around 200 hours on Oblivion (2 games across 2 360s); I just keep going back to it. The Shivering Isles expansion was disappointing but I still love the game itself. The game I am currently playing is LittleBigPlanet, it's just so much fun. It's very well made, it's utterly charming, the physics are very impressive, it's just a really good game. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. |

Reviving of the thread! I'm a hopeless MMO addict. I've played a whole bunch over the years, from the original EverQuest, the defunct Earth & Beyond, Star Wars Galaxies, EverQuest II, and now Star Trek Online. I started playing EQ2 in high school, around the time of PotC coming out I believe (actually, I think it was before, but I have strong memories of being in the Sprawl in Freeport with my Necromancer, and having the Aztec Medallion next to me on my desk), and I ended up dropping it a bit before college. Well, I've gone back and reactivated my account and am playing it now, and it is no where near as hard as I recall it being. I have no idea if this has to do with just getting older and better at these sorts of games or if they just made it a lot easier (they have simplified it, definitely, but whether or not they have to the amount it seems easier for me, I don't know). It's rather fun. Then there is my true love, Star Trek, and that MMO, which is great. I mean, okay they nerfed my profession and have completely killed off ground combat, which is what I excelled at, but that being said, I still love it, and I love flying around in my ship and being a captain in Starfleet, or killing the enemies of the Empire. Definitely my favourite game. |
