I'm Stormy, I used to be Bloody Mary Sparrow on Crossing-Blades. As I've said before, most of you probably won't remember me, anyway, because I rarely posted over there. I'm sorry it shut down, but I'm glad to be here instead!

I'm pretty much your average shy, geeky girl. I liked pirates and nautical lore long before Pirates of the Caribbean came out, but the idea of Johnny Depp as a pirate increased my love tenfold. God bless Captain Jack. :worship: Anyway, I'm from southeastern Virginia, on the Chesapeake Bay, so the pirate stuff is pretty big here anyway.

I'm 23, and I tried college - really, I did - but it just wasn't for me. I'm just sorry I wasted so much time with it. I was miserable sitting in three-hour classes all day long (and usually well into the night, as well), so I decided to quit school (at least I graduated high school - advanced diploma and all!) and work full-time. I'm just so much happier staying busy and working. I work at a bakery/coffee shop/cafe type place - locally owned and operated. It's nice, it has a sweet, small town feel to it, and I adore everyone I work with. The only thing that sucks is my hours - I work from 4 AM (some days 3 AM) to 12:30 PM or so. I'm an insomniac, so getting up at that time is often quite hard. I'm usually just starting to slip into a deep sleep when the alarm goes off. And the pay isn't so great, but all in all, I'm happy, so I'm not going to complain (much).

I'm also one of the only non-comic-reading comic book geeks I've ever come across. I'm a huge fan of all the superheroes - but Superman is my favorite. I'm a big fan of the movies and all of the TV shows, but "Smallville" is my favorite so far. I watch it faithfully every Thursday night, even though this season hasn't been quite as good as some of the older ones.

And I'm a huge fan of the Muppets (Rowlf is my favorite ;) ). I used to watch the older show as a kid, and I love all the movies - but Muppet Treasure Island is my favorite... Pirates and Muppets, could it get any better?

More of the geeky stuff - I'm a movie buff. Big time. My all-time favorite movie is Back to the Future. And Jaws - actually, most anything that Spielberg directs or produces is pretty great (except A.I. - not even Gigolo Joe could save that one).

Oh, and another geeky thing - I'm into Harry Potter, though not as much as I used to be, and the first forum I ever joined was Fiction Alley. As such, I'm very big on proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, the works. They're very strict over there with the rules, mainly because there are so many people in different countries (and speaking different languages) who log on, and the more people type like this: "LyKe OMG DrAcO n HaRrY r soooooooooo HOTT n i wannna MeRy em BoTh cuz ther SOOOOOO HOTT!!!!111!!!!!" the harder it is for non-English-speaking people to be able to translate. Besides, netspeak is just annoying. So I'm very big on speaking properly and staying on-topic, and I can sometimes be a little harsh on others who aren't so concerned with it. The occassional fangirl squeeing I can deal with (because, let's face it, we're all fangirls deep down ;) ), but pointless posts about how "HOTT" someone is just irk me. I'm glad to see in my initial perusing of Parley that no one around here seems to do that crap.

Oh yeah, and I have a tendency to get a little wordy sometimes. If I start to ramble, just politely tell me to hush, I'll get the picture.

I like all sorts of music - pretty much everything, really. My favorites tend to be Matchbox 20 and Rob Thomas, My Chemical Romance, Styx, Kansas, Bad Company, Journey, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith... But I'll listen to basically anything but rap. Even some country is okay. (But only some!)

I'm slightly morbid and have a rather macabre sense of humor - I'd fit in wonderfully with the Addams Family. However, I'm also quite an optimist - I will always find something to be glad about. There's always an upside!

And I'm also a total mess, and it's late, so now I need to straighten a bit and get my booty to bed. I just hope I can sleep for once. Without nightmares. Eesh.

So that's me in a nutshell. Well, basically, anyway.
