Now movie tie-in games don't have a brilliant record. The last Pirates games was good fun but hardly a great game. This may not be the best game the world has ever seen but by Jove, it looks fairly awesome. AWE game video. AWE game article. This is the Xbox 360 version, there will also be versions coming out for the DS, PSP, PS2, PS3, PC and the Wii. Will |

Meh... The Wii version will be fun, but all the toher ones, I don't know... Like you said, games based on movies don't have a good track record. Even if it looks good... I don't know... The X-Men game looked good, but we all know how that turned out. |

Another game? it was to be expected, the film's a two parter and the DMC game had such an abrupt ending because of it, I wouldn't mind another one, as long as there's more characters this time, and maybe that stupid drunken swagger being toned down a bit when Jack's being burned, him dancing back into the flames when I'm trying to move him out of them is so annoying. <_< Oh, and looky, the apostrophe is back?! Is that Disney not wanting to make a movie about Jack Sparrow having to fight off Unicron and Galactus as they spread across the universe devouring all the worlds over countless galaxies, and only one pirate can stop them both? shame, I was really looking forward to intergalactic war, but that title makes more sense with that apostrophe, so hopefully Disney has grown some intelligence and decided to keep it.

Looks good ('Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword' is a bit off and dark), but like you said, videogame adaptations of films don't usually pan out too well. Only really good ones are Spider-Man 2 and Return of the King. Well, RotK isn't that great, but its fun. Spider-Man 2, though, is one of my favorite games of all time. Web-sling around all of Manhattan and do whatever you want interspersed with fighting Shocker, Rhino, Doc Ock, Mysterio, and teaming up with Black Cat? DROOL. |

I have both DMC and AWE PSP version, and although I'm not a huge gamer, I think the platform was fantastic. This would undoubtingly be biased, due to the magnificent lover of Pirates of the Caribbean that I am; I was utterly hooked to the AWE game. The best feature was that you could unlock several characters and replay the levels as them. The fact that they behave as Sparrow is hilarious and provide hours of entertainment. I was upset that Norrington wasn't available as an unlockable character in the PSP version, but he is on the Wii. I absolutely adore this Wii advert Pirates of the Caribbean At World's End Wii Commercial TVCM |

The AWE game was pretty cool, I was disappointed by the lack of Norrington too, why wasn't he playable? but I did notice some voice actors who I don't think were in the game, I'm sure Ragetti never spoke, he was hardly even in it, but it was fun to hear Teddy as so many officers, I could only kill them as Will, or Lizzy, I feel dirty to kill English people as anything other than an English person, Jack doesn't count since he's just pretending.

I was so desparately disappointed in the lack of Norrington love in AWE the game that I did some research. Here's a wonderful link to screencaps and video dialogue of Norrington in PS2 game. The voice actor was Julian Holloway, but I thought he did a great job ^w^ My favourite quotation is: "Perhaps you can't even see me. It would appear that way."
I found that little confession hilarious XD Such honour, such honesty, only kill the English as an upstanding English character Huzzah! =3 |

He had that fight on the wheel, which is probably his only appearance in the whole game, a shame, I was really hoping to unlock him, but why is he on the PS2 version and not the PSP? that's not right. Oh, and is it just me but is Beckett's character model really bad? I still say the best line was Jack's Han Solo quote in DMC with "and I thought they smelled bad on the outside", that had me laughing so much, curse my nerdiness. I sometimes forget how many playable characters are English, but to have an American kill an English person isn't right, I have to keep my honour and only have English kill English, so I usually play as Will if I have to replay those levels. |
