Path of Survivors Courtyard; Temple of the Sith'ari - Planet of Tel'Shak

Posted Image

A man in a black robe walked along the cobblestones of the great courtyard of the Temple, moving past several students and knights in the midst of conversation. Known as the Path of Survivors, the great courtyard had been named for those that had survived the effort to wipe out the people of the Sith'ari before their arrival on Tel'Shak. The man moved about the courtyard swiftly yet never looked up at those around him. Moving to the statue of Lord Corrin Fel, one of the founders of the new Order, he stopped and glanced around, waiting for someone. Pulling a small communication device out of the robe he clicked it on and spoke softly, yet firmly.

"Darth Karrak, I require your presence in the Path of Survivors. There is a mission of great importance that the Emperor requires your expertise to see through. Do not keep me waiting."

Not waiting for a response the man clicked off the device and clasped his hands behind his back. High Lord Decan Zeth, Lord of Shadows, closed his eyes and waited for the Knight to arrive, hopefully he didn't take too long for the Lord had much to do.

"Darth Karrak, I require your presence in the Path of Survivors. There is a mission of great importance that the Emperor requires your expertise to see through. Do not keep me waiting."

Akton's eyes did not open. Silence again filled the small meditation chamber as the comm clicked, ending the message. Under his knees, the stone floor was cool and hard, polished to a shine. Again, his thoughts drifted, taking him away from his physical form.

A slight shift from the corner of the room caught his attention, and his expression showed his annoyance before Narria even spoke.
"Master, shouldn't we..."

She was cut short by a raised hand from the silent Anzati. Sighing with disgust, he rose to his feet and turned to face his apprentice, his dark eyes flashing.

"Never again disturb my meditation, woman." He commanded in his monotone voice, revealing not a hint of malice. Without awaiting a reply, he then strode past, a small wave of his hand opening the door. With only a flick of a finger, Narria was in tow, and the pair made their way from Akton's private quarters, and out into the dark street.....

Darth Karrak stood looking into the court yard for a long moment, taking his time to contemplate the possibilities that this meeting might provide. A long moment that ended all too soon, for he could only speculate. Whatever it was, it was of the Emporor's decree. and his decree was law. Straightening his shoulders, the Sith strode boldly onto the Path of Survivors, casting a cold glare over any who looked apon him. He knew who he sought, and finding him was not difficult. Alone, before the great statue of Corrin Fel, stood High Lord Decan Zeth, Lord of Shadows, his hands clasped behind his back. If the High Lord had noticed him, he showed no sign of it, and so the Anzati stepped forward, keeping a respectful few meters between them, and spoke in a low voice.

"You called.....?" He demanded, though keeping up a certain respect for his superior.

*Heh, these young ones think they know everything. Foolish.* Decan thought to himself as he sensed and then heard Karrak speak.

"Yes Karrak, good." Without looking up Decan pulled a datapad from under his robe and floated it over to Karrak. "You and your company are being tasked with a special mission that could decide the success or failure of our future operations in the Tapani Sector." Decan paused and pulled a holographic display from his pocket with a small map of the northern Tapani sector being displayed with a dotted hyperspace land being shown from Tel'Shak to one of the planets.

"This is the planet Lupani in Melanthia Province, or what used to be House Nidantha space." (Karrak knowing that House Nidantha had joined up with the Sith'ari in their travels to Tel'Shak). "Unbeknownst to the Tapani there exists a undisclosed hyperspace lane into that sector from our home here in Tel'Shak."

"You are being given a Nemesis-class Assault Corvette that has been heavily modified to head into this system and beyond to gather information on the defenses of the sector as well as figuring out what all has transpired in the sector over the past several years. You may go about any way in gaining this information, including hiring pirates or smugglers if you so wish, but you must avoid at all costs in revealing who we are and what our final goal is. Is that understand?"

Karrak's brow became a dark crease, lines marring his smooth, pale face. It was little information to go on, with his directive quite vague. He considered asking for more details, but dismissed the idea immediately. He was told exactly what the Emperor wished him to be told. And that was all that he needed, he thought to himself, as a Dark Knight of the Sith'ari.
"It will be done, High Lord." Was all he said as he offered a stiff bow to the Master's back. Without another word, he turned on his heel, and strode away, considering his new mission.

He met Narria at the entrance of the Path, his human apprentice falling in step beside him as he continued on without any indication of acknowledgement.
"Call in the men. Grek Company has a mission." He commanded simply, handing her the datapad he had received. "Direct from the Emperor. So let's do this right."

One Hundred men and women stood in lines of ten before a small platform Karrak claimed, just outside of the Hanger Bay. Inside sat the transport that would carry them to the Nemesis. Before the armored elites, Ten Dark Knights, their eyes on their commander, with looks ranging from respect, to indifference, to veiled hatred. No one spoke. No one moved. Silence hung over them all as Karrak's dark eyes looked to each and every face before him.
Finally, a slight grimace masked the Anzati's face.

"Today, we serve the Emperor directly! His will guides this mission! We, you, have been chosen, because you are the elite!" He shouted harshly, looking for any signs of weakness or fear. "Today, we leave this world, for the Tanapi Sector, to discern what events have unfolded on a certain planet of import! No one may know what we are, or what we seek. Should we find combat, and do not doubt it likely, you will fight! You will defeat all before you! Or you will die!"
Again he paused, letting this sink in. "I suggest the former. You all aren't easy to replace." He added with a slight smirk, his best attempt at humor.

Raising his chin proudly, he stepped from the platform, falling slowly to the ground. "Knights, get your squads to the Nemesis!" He finished, his hands folding behind his back, and watched the organized procession make its way into the large building, judging everything and anything, including his own apprentice, leading the 1st, his personal guard. Still, he was not sure the course of action he should take for this mission, but they had a long hyper trip ahead of them. Plenty of time to think. Plenty of time for things to fall into place. The force would guide him....
A slight grin touching his face, barely a twitch of his lips, the Dark Knight followed, making his way to his new ship, and what might be a very lucratively rewarding mission.... The Emperor would see his worth. This, he knew, was already fact.

Planet of Lupani; House Melantha Space

It took four days for the Nemisis-class Assault Corvette Devourer to make the jump from Tel'Shak to the plane tof Lupani, a planet in House Melantha space. The Devourer's crew had been given a few additions, with a full intelligence team (five team members) and three House Nidantha members being added to the crew and tasked with assisting Grek Company in their mission.

Upon arriving in the system the Devourer exited hyperspace at 100 SU out, trying to keep the hyperlane a secret from prying eyes. The captain then had the ship do very passive scans to see what all was in the system, though information was sketchy at best. It looked like there were a number of system patrol craft in system as well as what assumed were a couple of fighter patrols. One thing that was clear on the scans were two stations orbiting the planet, though the sensor operator was unclear just what these stations were.

Karrak stares hard at the faces before him, 19 in total. 10 Dark Knights, his apprentice included, the 3 representatives of House Nidantha, the Captain of the Devourer, and his new intel team. The room had been silent for long enough that a few shifted uncomfortably, but no one had deemed to speak....

At the head of the long, durasteel table, the Anzati had remained motionless, cold eyes seeming to judge each and every one of them, as he did every single time they gathered.

Finally, the silence was broken.
"I want to know what those stations are for...." Karrak said gently, his eyes flicking to the new Intel team.
"As this Planet will be our first stop, I want this to go smoothly...." His dark eyes shifted to Darth Tuija. Seeming the most able to blend with a crowd. The Sith'ari Really were an easily identified people, he considered to himself.
"Tujia. Your squad will assist with this. The 15 of you will descend tot he planet. Learn what you can about the stations, the Planet, and anything else of import, including the identity, and ability to contact, any underground figures. Pirate Crews, Smugglers, Shadow Syndicate Representatives... Use your imagination, and do not disappoint me. If you require back up, or extraction, it will be seen to. Find yourselves Civilian garb, and travel light. Small arms only. You will already be suspicious enough..."

Karrak then looks to the Captain, who's name he could not be bothered to remember as of yet. "Captain, I want a shuttle prepped at all times. There will be alot of coming and going from this vessel."

His eyes briefly slid over the Tapani in the room, wondering what use he would get out of them.....But whatever it would be, it wouldn't be right now.

"Dismissed..."

Space around the planet of Lupani:

After grabbing civilian cloths (which plenty had been provided) the small team selected for intelligence gathering boarded one of the four Boldhawk-class Assault Shuttles provided to the Devourer and quickly left the shuttle bay of the corvette. It took several hours for the shuttle to close the distance to the planet due to the fact that the pilot was trying to be rather sneaky and went a longer route so that it didn't look like they were coming in from the middle of no where.

As the shuttle entered scanning range of one of the stations (30 SU) they received a communication coming from one of the stations. "Unregistered shuttle this is Station Casico, you don't seem to have a flight path please state your destination and cargo."

While this was happening the crew could also now get a better view of both stations and saw that they looked to not be militaristic at all but more civilian in nature. Several transports and freighters could be seen going to and from the stations, with many of them heading to the surface of the planet.

Darth Tuija frowned, leaning over the cockpit comm for a moment before an idea formed in her mind. "We may be taking a detour..." She mumbled to herself, and opened up the communications.

"This is Captain Tuija of The Star Skipper, Casico, our apologies. We were knocked off course, and are in need of supplies. Destination, Soterios, meaning to visit the Capitol. Cargo, 15 sentients. Requesting permission to dock planetside to re-supply and stretch our legs. It's been a long trip, Casico, and my people could use the fresh air."

Letting go of the button, she bit her lip, breath held, until a reply was given.....

Tuija didn't have to wait long as she received a reply within a moment "Soterios? Kriff you went completely the wrong way. This your first time flying and navigating or something? Anyways you can land .. umm docking bay 19 in Lamx, sending you the data now. You are going to need to file a flight plan though, so a House security team will be meeting you there to do so. Other than that have a nice day oh and get a better navigator!"

A moment later a data packet was received and flight information for the docking bay was uploaded. The Sith'ari team now had a way to land on the planet, they just had to deal with a House security team one way or the other.

Tuija smiled, despite the looks cast at her from the pilot and co-pilot seat. She didn't care, it had gotten them to the ground.

"Mistress, what about-"
She raised a hand to silence them, still grinning. "Let me worry about the ground crew, my dear Raja. Just make your way to Hanger bay 19."

Opening the comm, she replied. "Thank you, Casico. I will be sure to reprimand my Navigator. Captain Tuija out."
Tossing a wink at Raja, Darth Tuija then makes her way back out of the cockpit, adjusting the lightsaber beneath her brilliantly colorful robe. Honestly, she wasn't sure what she was going to do, once they got down there, but Karrak had sent her, she believed, because he had decided she was the best for the job. And she would not miss this chance to gloat her success to the others....

A starport on a unknown world:

The shuttle went past the stations and about ten minutes later entered the atmosphere of the planet known as Lupani. Heading to the southern continent they find a decently sized city, with several starports located on the east side of the city. Finding the hangar bay isn't hard due to having the information transmitted from the station and set down several minutes later.

They can see a refueling team and a small team of House Guards, numbering six, and a man in an officer's uniform waiting for them. Once they descended from the ramp of the shuttle they would be approached by the officer. "Greetings, welcome to Lupani. I am Lieutenant Wadan of the House Guards. You failed to file a flight plan and thus that brought up a flag. Will you allow us to search your shuttle?"

Tuija met the team with a bright smile. "We appreciate the generosity, Lieutenant Wadan, and our apologies for the inconvenience. We have come a long way after our hunting trip, and would request a good Cantina that we may spend our true-gravity time in. I think" She added with the slightest wave of her fingers, "That you will find everything in order on the ship. I will leave a couple of my men, to help your search go as smoothly as possible."
