Is it possible for a plane to crash and sink in the ocean and the cabin remain airtight and dry?

What I'm getting at is is it possible for a passenger's cellphone to remain dry and functional once the plane is underwater? There are reports of families being able to successfully call through to them cellphones of passengers. None are answered but the significance is that the cellphones are still working.

Then again would there even be cellphone reception at the bottom of the ocean? It's a shallow sea in that area but still, it's very far-fetched.

I hope the plane is found soon so the families can get some answers and closure. The grieving process will be far more drawn out if they're holding on to a glimmer of hope. That's what I'd be doing: desperately hoping the plane had safely crash-landed somewhere and they're waiting to be rescued.

I hope the plane was taken to another planet by aliens who will use the passengers for slave labor.

There was? Well at least the passengers might have had some Kiwi Mango Mint Vodka cocktails before they vanished.

I love Asian people. Why are you even asking such an offensive question? "Slanty eyes" is a horrible thing to say.

Huh? I've always been fond of Asian cultures and I feel lucky to live in such a multicultural country.

Stop trying to cause trouble.
