I received a boquet of flowers on Sunday and they're in a vase on my desk. They smelled sooooo good for the first few days, but now they're starting to get that old flower smell.

I'd love to regularly buy flowers to keep in a vase but they're actually kind of expensive, especially if you want a big bunch with different flowers in it.

They brighten a room up too. I've never been the type to bake and fill the house with yummy cake smells, but I could be the type to have flower arrangements around.

Maybe I should leave it for 40 or 50 years though.

I love having flowers around.

I, unfortunately, have to buy my own flowers. Sob sob. :-(

But they really do make such a difference to a room. I never buy the big bunches because they are really expensive like you say. I usually just buy a small bunch of tulips/carnations/daffodils or whatever for like £3 or so just to stick in a small vase on my desk. I've always liked the idea of being a florist.

From where I stand
I can see the curvature of the Earth
And I want to make it flat
I will play, the sky is black

Mmm, florist shops always smell so sweet and clean.

My, erm... partner sometimes comes home with flowers for me. On Sunday they were to say thank you for looking after the house.

I read a book a few years back either by Ruth Rendell or Nicci French, where the main character was a florist. She'd get up really early and go to some florist market and pick out fresh bunches of flowers to sell in her shop. I can imagine doing that, getting a latte on the way and walking around the market choosing pretty flowers.
