Elle Bee was a little bird who lived in a hole high up in a tree. Elle Bee liked her home as it was nice and warm and cosy and she had narrowed the entrance so that only she could enter her nest. Elle Bee liked having a home all to herself. Elle Bee would wake up naturally every day and take her time getting ready for the day, there was absolutely no need to rush. The great Bird in the sky had provided Elle Bee with all that she needed. There was no need to fly from the nest and rush about in a frenzied manner all day. Yes life was good Bird had provided all the animals not just birds with everything that they needed to survive. Elle Bee had her warm secure nest rent free, she had her feathers to keep her warm and when they aged and fell out new feathers automatically appeared. Every day was such joy that Elle Bee couldn't resist the desire to sing with happiness that another day had come! When Elle Bee was properly awake and refreshed and not a second before, she flew up and out of her nest and landed on a nearby branch and looked at the sun and was happy. Then she flew to a stream and had a nice cool drink of water then she hopped up on to a stone and said to herself "time for breakfast, behold the great table set out for me and all animals by Bird. Praise be to mighty Bird who dwelleth so high up in the sky that not even the eagles had seen Him." However, Elle Bee was a clever bird with a reflective mind and she had noticed though she tried not to that there was a species of animal that was deeply unhappy and never sang with joy that Bird had given the world another day. Elle Bee didn't know what these creatures were only that they were large and unhappy with aggressive hateful faces and loud harsh voices that made even the crows shudder. These miserable animals always seemed to be in a great hurry they were perpetually rushing about but all their activity just seemed to make them more tired and miserable. Elle Bee didn't know why they behaved like that didn't these crazed animals know that Bird had provided everything for them, for all life? [continued] These ungainly creatures prided themselves on their intelligence but Elle Bee the little bird couldn't see what was so intelligent about rushing around all day and making yourself ill. What was so smart about spending all day doing something that you didn't like with people you didn't like and having no security or peace of mind? Elle Bee didn't pay rent on her warm and snug hole in the tree. Bird had provided the nest and all the sticks and twigs necessary to keep the hole warm and cosy in all weathers. What a lucky bird am I thought Elle Bee I am glad I am not one of those clumsy ungainly creatures that have no cost free protection against the cold wet and rain. Elle Bee didn't like those ugly lumpish creatures so not wishing to make herself unhappy she flew to the very top of a tall tree and sang her song of joy to the sun and to life and most especially to Bird the maker of all things.
