The thing about doing anything wrong that seemed to a person that it was a step in the right direction is that first, when you do it, you feel amused by the fact that you decided to go that far. Then, after a while, you begin to rationalize why it seemed like such a good idea, so therefore you do it again. Later, it becomes almost habit-forming or second-nature. At this time, we may note that Hakuro Kuroda - alias the Hatto-san - was otherwise decent with academics and such, but there were some subjects that he just found entirely tedious, His brain slid off from concentration. One time, dozing off caused him to hit his head loudly when he slipped off of leaning on his arms. Today, one a rather nice day, the hatted-and-coated young man decided that he would just be 'tardy' for a boring class and instead head upstairs to hang out on...the roof! During this time, no one would even by up there. He could just have it allll...to himself. Wonderful. |

Name; Amy Rabe. Age; 29. Occupation, Teacher. sizes 36-24-36. The Black haired woman had stepped out, she had a free period for once and her preparations were taken care of. This was when she noticed someone else in the hall. Looking up, her red eyes fixed on him as he sneaked up to the roof. the hat and coat were definitely not regulation. so she followed him up, remaining incredibly silent she followed after him it wasn't until after he made it to the rooftop did she make her presence known by clearing her throat. The wind kissed them blowing her waist length Ponytail gently behind her. Her striking and strange red eyes fixed on hips, as she put her hands on her hips. her outfit of course consisting of a suit with a skirt. she gave a look of displeasure, that was somewhat softened by her glasses. "excuse me young man, but what are you doing up here while class is still in session." she said this with a hint of anger in her voice. She seemed like a bomb, a bunch of fire and doom just waiting to explode from her relatively petite form. |

See? This was just a little piece of alright, wasn't it? He got upstairs onto the roof and there's a nice day going on too. Nice blue sky with the occasional little cloud pushing on by... There was even a refreshing breeze. 'Course, he would have to think of something to keep himself occupied. If simply chilling were enough for him on occasions like this, he'd just sleep. And if he were going to do that, he may as well stay in bed, right? That made sense. Though, maybe this was a good time to collect himself in regards to that Otherworld... Unfortunately, Hakuro's line of thought didn't get much farther than admiring the day when his reverie was broken by a curt sort of throat-clearing sound, one clearly designed to gain the attention of nearby people. Hakuro's face went from relaxation to puzzlement as he turned to find out who else was up here with him. "Excuse me young man, but what are you doing up here while class is still in session?" His mind, which had initially been racing to concoct something between an excuse and a smart-alecky response came to an abrupt halt when he saw who it was that he was talking to. This was a moment - a person - that you aptly describe as 'Whoa', a young adult who was quickly becoming a show-stealer to his brain. It was unexpected to see someone such as this right here and n- Hold on a minute, Hakuro! Didn't you hear something about this on the forums? He did, he was sure of it, but he couldn't quite remember who...but...judging from her question, that meant she was...faculty? Yeah, that must be it! ...which of course meant that he was in hot water now. Ah...whoops. Hakuro overcame his initial confusion and addressed the young woman. "I'm sorry...you're the new teacher here, right? I just..." Heck with it. Go for brutal honesty, Hakuro. You've only so much to lose here. He sighed, lowering his head for a moment. "I just needed to get out. Not all of it, I swear. Just certain parts of it." |

Her eyes softened as she stepped forward. there was a clear concern in her eyes, obviouisly she was some kind of bleeding heart. "I see..." her voice was soft, like notes from a clear bell. Brushing her bangs to the side she walked up to him. "If so then what is bothering you? is it problems at home?" she asked as if greatly worried. the compassion she showed seemed overwhelming. It was as if she was a girl who cared much more about the spirit of the rules than the wording. "i understand if you don't want to say anything,..." she trailed off a bit. However her intense red eyes never once diverted from his. |

His head returned to normal when he heard the tone of her next words and her footsteps approaching. Normally, this was where a teacher takes on the stern 'This isn't like you' or 'What are you thinking?' lecture, or perhaps words to that effect. If you really want to know, Hakuro was not exactly the picture of perfect attendance in Japan either. It was a matter of fact that while Mr. Traveler here DID further his education, his decision to transfer out coincided with moments like these. And yet...he couldn't exactly do that here. Not with the Shadows and the Otherworld and all. That said, not only her tone caught him off-guard, but so did her line of inquiry. "If so then what is bothering you? is it problems at home?" In fact, his surpise and confusion was perhaps a little too palpable, as she might've mistaken his demeanor for one of an unwillingness to speak. And it was right then that he actually noticed the eyes. They didn't seem like they were red, like Anri's intense glares. They were red, and she was looking at him in a manner that equated to...what? Trying to figure him out? Rooting him to the spot? Or indeed, the concern that she was voicing. It was at this point that Hakuro felt that...certain cunning interest of his coming into play again. He smiled and shook his head. "No troubles at home, really. Not only do I get along with my parents, but it'd be a little hard to have trouble with them all the way back in Japan." Ravencroft catered to all kinds, after all. "It's really just that...I've spent so much time in my life finding diversions to keep my mind occupied that when I have to pay attention to a class that doesn't hold my interest, I get listless and my brain glazes over." Glazes over like it's old TV static. His trouble was an undisciplined mind, one that sometimes wants to be anywhere but here. |

Her heels clicked against the roof as she stepped forward, seemingly not bothered by the chill air as she removed her glasses and deposited them in her chest pocket. "your brain glazes over huh? you know you won't get far in life being that callow. you should at least be able to pretend to be interested." she said this as she walked past him and put her hands against the railing. "you know i really should be giving you a stern talking to but I've never been good at those and i don't think you care." she sighed as she turned to lock her eyes with his, her stare was intense, piercing red eyes that seemed to penetrate any attempts he would have at deceit. "i get the feeling that you have bigger concerns than most students, call it intuition, so i will say this, i'll overlook it this time but you really need to focus on your studies. If however there is something... bigger going on please let me know, you'd be surprised at how much this old lady can help." she said with a gentle smile, but her gaze was still as hot as flame. |

"your brain glazes over huh? you know you won't get far in life being that callow. you should at least be able to pretend to be interested." "Hey, not for lack of trying, you understand." He had sort of a 'Hey, don't get the wrong idea here' expression on his face as he made Standard Hand-Flail Gesture #3, That was the one where the hands are raised somewhat defensively and wave back and forth as the subject dissuades the other person from a mistaken impression about the subject. In short, Hakuro was saying that he DID try, just...that things don't always work the way we want them to. The teacher had now walked past him to the railing, looking out with no glasses on. Strange...were they just reading glasses? She seemed somewhat more youthful with them off. "you know i really should be giving you a stern talking to but I've never been good at those and i don't think you care." He wanted to say something there, but before he could utter a word, she fixed him with a gaze that he found all-too-familiar. No, she wasn't like Anri, but she had that sort of skill with the eyes, especially for having that color... "i get the feeling that you have bigger concerns than most students, call it intuition, so i will say this, i'll overlook it this time but you really need to focus on your studies. If however there is something... bigger going on please let me know, you'd be surprised at how much this old lady can help." She had managed to put a full-stop on the usual Hatto-san stuff, he'd grant her that. There was something about her that was...different. Nevermind what the internet said. He felt there was a bigger concern right here. He had to wonder about this teacher... Perhaps he could work something out. Hakuro recovered from his initial off-guard-ness now. "You're right, you know. I shouldn't be doing this. I've a friend who'd probably beat me up for it. And maybe we should talk, Ms...?" He knew that if he thought hard enough, he would remember that the new teacher's name was Ms. Rabe, but one thing our Drama Club member here remembers in life is that you should never steal somebody's thunder if you're not prepared to run with it. Hakuro didn't know just how much thunder she HAD, so it was best to let her have it. |

Ms. Rabe. Should be easy to remember. And you are?" she asked she hadn't the chance to meet the kid before so it would be good to know his name. after he gave his name she continued. "And what do you feel the need to talk about?" she asked as if prompting him to talk, her eyes continuing to pierce him. It was easy to see how she got the reputation. her body and eyes were simply striking. her hair was dark, almost with the appearance of a raven's feather. She turned leaning against the railing giving him her full attention, and accentuating her own appearance in the light. She crossed her arms waiting for him to continue. Giving her a somewhat impatient and professional look. |

"Ms. Rabe. Should be easy to remember. And you are?" Ah yes, that was it. That was the name mentioned in the forums. "I'm Hakuro Kuroda, sometimes called the Hatto-san." He said this last part with a smile and a slight tip of the hat. She had turned to face him now while leaning on the railing. Hakuro was no longer feeling rooted by her gaze because he realized he wasn't seeing anger. She could be angry. She said even that she should be, but she wasn't. No, after the initial shock of it, he realized what it really was: Ms. Rabe wanted to know. Her eyes sort of demanded it. They seemed to say 'It would be alot better if you just tell me'. "And what do you feel the need to talk about?" Actually, alot of things seemed to be indicating that. Hakuro was going to just head back to class and say 'Tell ya later', but...he hadn't exactly been having the best time with the problems at hand. You know... The BIG problems. Running for his life, Persona super powers, Shadows everywhere, Hatto Smash, and so on. Where do you start on something like that? Do you even dare tell someone who only wants to help? Well, there was the smart way to do this and there was the movie way to do this. The movie way was where the character tells all, waits for results, and then is suprised when nobody believes him. The smart way was...to start it off with things that the human level is willing to accept. So Hakuro, despite all Drama Club practice, did just that. "It's the murders... You know the ones. The first one happened right here on campus. I was there. Torn up body, held where it was in chains, no witnesses... It bothers me, how it could possibly happen? I mean that, literally, how was it physically possible? Even as we saw it, and the others followed, I couldn't help but look into it." He had really worked on that when it happened, and he got no results...technically. Gotta remember that he immediately leapt to the supernatural as a logical answer to the problem even before he knew anything about Shadows and Personas. "It's all so shockingly real when compared to my classes, and a little surreal." Edited by Nyarlathotep, Jul 26 2015, 03:17 PM.

Her expression softened even her eyes took on a sympathetic light. "I can understand that. this is supposed to be a place of learning and opportunity, having it polluted by a murder is beyond toleration." she said, "And its not like you've been prepared for such realities, such terrible events happening so close to home, its a wonder anyone feels safe at all in this city." she let out an empathetic sigh. "Were you close to any of the victims" she spoke up again her voice full of concern and empathy. "Its not easy to accept such realities, I wish it didn't have to be this way... I arrived shortly after the murder too so, it's a terrible way to prelude my entry into the school faculty." she nodded her body language shifting from a look of a professional to that of a sympathetic person. someone he could open up to. She seemed to understand, even though this business of the murders was only a half-truth in terms of why he was out of class. The other half was, of course, entirely because he was who he was, but let's not dwell on that, okay? Mind you, to say that it didn't affect him in some way would be a lie, as the answer he gave to her next question would clear up. "Were you close to any of the victims?" "I tend to pick up alot of people I keep in contact with, sometimes caught somewhere between acquaintance, friend, and someone I get information from. I did that alot in my travels across Japan. Now, some of the people I knew are gone..." He had been trying not to think too hard about that, buuut...it came out now. "It's not easy to accept such realities, I wish it didn't have to be this way... I arrived shortly after the murder too so, it's a terrible way to prelude my entry into the school faculty." "Unless of course, you're a breath of fresh air to the people around you. That always helps. I suppose I wanted to get my mind off of that stuff too. OR so on it to the exclusion of all other things. The point is...it hasn't been an easy year." Hakuro was facing down with his own thoughts right now, thinking about how he promised to try and do something about this, and while he was still in the rabbit hole, he hadn't really made real progress... "Me a breath of fresh air? yeah i'd like to think of myself like that." she gave a smile as her fiery red eyes softened, she began to play with her long ponytail. The sheen of it made it look like the coloration of a raven's feather. she understood his statement. "You should tell em about your year, and all of the crazy stuff you've been dealing with. I bet it would be a relief to unload all of that pent up thinking. Just let me know alright?" she said with a surprisingly cute head tilt. her voice almost mesmerizing in its softness. she honestly looked like at this point the model teacher. kind caring and willing to bend the rules for the good of her students. |

"Me a breath of fresh air? yeah i'd like to think of myself like that." Yeah, like a raven... Huh, what? Oh, sorry, loss of concentration! Where were we? Ah yes. Ms. Rabe seemed to have cooled whatever jets had been running with that glare from before. This was definitely the side of her that people were talking about. She was nice, and she had a certain fire about her, and - let's just face it - the '8' wasn't just idle boast. She had it. "You should tell me about your year, and all of the crazy stuff you've been dealing with. I bet it would be a relief to unload all of that pent up thinking. Just let me know alright?" "It's worth a try, but maybe now isn't the right time. I should go back to class, try to pay attention. But if you could think of a better time of day that works to both our advantage, that would be fine, right?" Well, sure! She was available for all kinds of sessions, right? |

With a smile she gave him a card with her contact information on it. "it's alright, just contact me when you need to talk. otherwise i have work i need to do also..." she locked eyes with him again as fiery as before. "If i catch you cutting class again, ill be sure to find some way to punish you..." she said with a strange focus on the word leaving him to consider what she had said. with that she walked off, giving the distinct sense of there being more to her than meets the eye. /exit SL+1 Magician |

"it's alright, just contact me when you need to talk. otherwise i have work i need to do also..." She handed him a card, he gave her a "Thank you, Ms. Rabe." before she flashed him a look all of a sudden and may as well have said 'Beware, beware! His flashing eyes, his floating hair!' because her tone and gaze had caught him by surprise again and suddenly made him very agreeable for the moment. "I'll remember." With that, Hakuro moved to get back to class... EXIT! |
