Lord Squishy, Official PRR Secretary.
Though internally Rei felt a pang of defeat already, his external reaction to the girl's reply was to act as though he hadn't made an error in the first place. Certainly he wasn't too stupid to ignore it, but at the very least if he treated with the disdain it would have normally been met with, it seemed to dull the gravity of the blow to some extent. At least, it remained numb in this manner until the conversation shifted, only then did it seem the pride began to repair itself as though it was some kind of autonomous being perfectly capable of fixing its own wounds.

Though it really wasn't so. It was merely that the shift in conversation allowed Rei to ignore the holes for a moment, long enough to be simultaneously taken aback by the notion of his home being a romantic place and somewhat disdainful of it. Yes, the house provided a nice view of the city regardless of the time of day, but that was about it. Other than the large window that provided that portal into nothingness, it was certainly more cramped than a mansion, regardless as to how much "utility" had mattered in its furnishings and construction.

But still, the manner in which Claire had put it wasn't worthy of ignoring. Rather, the bluenette gently ran his fingers through his hair as though it was out of place and met her statement with a small smirk,

"I hope you'll think so, once you've actually seen it."

Then the more apparent of his mistakes became apparent, the idea that Runako Takeda could have been -no, probably was- going to be present for their little game. It wasn't so much that she would have disliked the company her son kept, but it was simply that her mannerisms were... embarrassing at best, at least within the confines of their own home. Otherwise she was perfectly respectable, similarly stoic and demanding but certainly respectable.

Rei answered as he took the drink offered to him, opening it without necessarily taking a drink until after he'd finished,

"If she is there, I'm sure she won't mind you. She would be overjoyed at the idea, actually. Though, you may be bombarded with questions. I certainly hope you don't mind."

A small smirk crossed the bluenette's face at the final statement, only to be replaced with a rather playful pout. Suppression ensued, and yet despite that he seemed to don some level of charm reminiscent of that which he had worn the evening of their first meeting, just before they had uhm, spent a long time together. Gingerly he leaned forward, sipping some of that dreadfully sweet drink of hers before replying,

"How sad, Winter is the only other season I enjoy. Though I'm sure we can think of ways to keep warm, can't we?"

The soft drink as not as sweet as would be expected. it was more like a light sparkling juice. She gave a mischievous smile. "I know how to handle awkward questions and situations with grace, my pedigree and upbringing are excellent, as you shall see." she said as they began to approach the address, the car coming to a slow stop. as he mentioned the whole remark about keeping warm.

"I see, well then don't make a promise you might not be able to survive." she said with a sadistic smile as she slid towards the opening door. "Shall we?"
