They had very large windows in the corridors. It looked almost like the place was filled with giant paintings everywhere... If you look at them from a certain angle.

Pam had been surprised again and again by observing through them and not being able to see clearly the end of the Institute's lands. She felt excited with the prospect of having such a huge place to explore in the many months to come.

Oh ... And and everything was so tall! Well, not only the buildings. The trees were pretty big too. She could have a good view of the garden if she climbed on some of the thick ones to the left... Unfortunately for her, lightning and wood do not mix very well. It was the only thing in the rain that left her tremendously disappointed that day. Pam turned the next corner and stopped her thoughts about the weather for a minute, enjoying the clear view of the entrance gates by the third floor's glass. She put her hand against the smooth, cold surface, approaching it so that the shadow that she made against the material made her reflection on it almost disappear, clearing her view . The girl looked at the top of colorful umbrellas moving over the large concrete sidewalk, until they were closed by their owners approaching the front door. It was a beautiful sight, though somewhat dimmed by the gray tone of the rain.

There was a single dark blue cone that was not moving along with the flow, however. Its owner stood still right at the entrance of the gates, looking around. She could not see his expression very well ...
"... What is he doing there?"
He will soak to the bones if he stays much longer at that downpour. There was a bit of wind too... That little shield can't possibly defend him from all that water. He looked to one side and the other. Looking for something? Speaking on the celphone? Waiting someone? Whatever it is, it would be much easier to simply enter the building first.

Feeling a strange sensation of curiosity and something more, she decided to go down the stairs and talk to him if she could.

The cane-wielding boy was dropped off at the corner, the school only a short walk away. Travis' first attempt at a tour of the school was cut short when he got wrapped up in a fine conversation with a member of the music club, so he had found time to squeeze in a second attempt. He took a few moments to clamber out of his mother's glossy white sedan, Theodore in one hand and a rather elegant gray umbrella in his other. After finally getting out of the car, onto his feet, and saying his momentary good-byes to his mother(Katherine had decided to stay home for this trip, Travis thanked god.), Travis started in a nice, brisk stride towards the school's main gate. The umbrella alone was enough to keep the rain at bay, but Travis had decided to layer up a little bit; bringing along a fedora and long-coat to match his umbrella.

He paid no mind to some boy who was seemingly standing still at the gate, so he didn't take note of his activities or words; Travis simply proceeded inside the building without a second thought. He took a moment to recall where he had left off on his previous tour, remembering that it had stopped outside the music room when he had popped in for that conversation with Miya. So, after momentarily looking for the stairwell which he had previously forgotten the location of, he took a step up onto the first of many stairs...

-Only to be pushed down by an oncoming student.

Travis, looking back on this day, thanked god it was only the first step; had he been any higher, the consequences would've likely been more severe upon landing. He let out a rather loud yelp as Travis experienced his short fall down the staircase. His first thought after landing was that this was a planned attempt upon his life, so his natural response was to prepare for battle. He grabbed the lower end of his cane and was ready to wield it like a bat should a second strike arise. He looked up at his potential assassin, a fire ready to be ignited in his eyes should he be thrown into a fight for his life.

Pamella walked quickly down the stairs along the central handrail. The quickest route was to follow the smallest rotation after all.. But those stairs in circular shape ... Was precisely the kind she most hated. Because ...
* foot slips *
These steps ... They become narrower and narrower the closer they got to the center of the ring. She had a few accidents with them as a child... Worse that this thing, in her humble opinion, only spiral staircases.

At least, she had a second to register in her mind, this time she was holding the railing so she would not fall too hard. With some luck, she would just jump two or three steps ... Near the end of the stairs.

She was not exactly counting on the fact that there would be someone putting their feet down there at the exact moment of her tragedy, however.

She had just time to yell an exclamation rather loudly, hoping to warn the person (that should have been a scream of "Look out!", if she had time enough to say it). Her step em falso made her entire lower body slide wildly forward, flung by gravity. Pamella was now trying to avoid hitting her back on the steps clinging tightly to the railing as her feet still sought the floor. She squinted in the fall and the sole of her right foot made contact with something a split second later. Much to her misfortune, that had not been the ground. She felt herself pushing something away with impact, and the noise of a body that was not hers falling to the ground. "Oh no ...!"

Half a second later, the girl felt her hip hurt when hitting the ground.
Everything happened in a couple of seconds. Maybe not even that much.

When she opened her eyes she found herself three steps from away the bottom of the stairs. Her arms still clung to the railing just above, her legs weirdly spreaded in search of support. A fedora hat rolled in the distance while the young man down there let out a moan of pain. She made some effort to try to support her back straight again and, perhaps because of the adrenalin, she succeeded in spite of the pain. The girl held out a leg to the ground floor, trying slowly to get back on her feet.

Are you okay ...?!
Are you hurt? Can you move?
...Need help getting up? Here! I'll...

"I. .."
She froze.
The phrase remained stuck in her throat... For the person down there was armed. The young man was still on the floor just a few centimeters away from her, wielding a cane and was obviously ready to brandish it. He stared into her eyes for just a split second, but... What was that hatred she felt coming through them? Was he mad at her? Scared, she herself shrinking into the floor.
"... I. .. I'm... So-sorry ... " she managed to say in a weak voice. "Please don't..."

The boy's grip around the cane loosened as he gave his "assassin" a quick look. She sounded as though she could barley harm a fly, and her appearance didn't quite convey the image of a hired hit-woman either. In fact; he must've seemed to be the more threatening of the duo at the moment, seeing as though he was seemingly arming himself and the fact his eyes bordered reflecting bloodlust. He felt a little bad now; this young woman was simply heading down the wrong staircase at the wrong time.

He didn't feel too injuried from the fall; the only thing that really hurt was his bad leg, it felt as though it was on fire as a result of the burning pain that he had received upon landing. If he wasn't injuried, why be angry at this random passer-by? It made no sense to hold a grudge, so he should just get up, brush himself off, and clear things up before they got out of hand. He slid his cane to his side, so he could grab the correct end as he stood up.

He attempted to speak in a calming tone, as to calm the shaken student a little if possible. "No, no; I should be the one apologizing, I should've paid more attention a noticed that someone was coming down the stairs." he started, giving his bad leg a light rub in an attempt to quell the pain a little. Alas; twas to no avail, so he now gave the student his full, undivided attention. "Are you alright though? I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if I learned I caused someone any undue harm" the boy asked as he approached the student with an outstretched hand should she need any help standing up, his limp more prevalent due to the fall.

Pamella saw his eyes frantically fixing at several different points. Her face, some indefinite point to her left, back to her face, somewhere on the stairs ... Seeming to have arrived at some sort of conclusion, his arm holding his cane fell slowly and his breathing quieted to a normal pace. It was only when the thick line that had appeared between his two eyebrows disappeared altogether that she remembered to look away from him. The boy placed his cane on the floor next to him and stood up, brushing the coat and the back of his leg with his free hand.

"No, no; I should be the one apologizing, I should've paid more attention a noticed that someone was coming down the stairs." he spoke, seemingly calm. “Are you alright though? I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight if I learned I caused someone any undue harm" the boy asked as he approached the student with an outstretched hand.

A couple of seconds later, she smiled and chuckled incredulously.
"Haha, what are you saying?" she shook her head.

A small bubble of relief had grown somewhere inside her, and Pamella found her voice again.

"Look, I'm glad you're not angry, but please do not apologize to me that way. It is you who got a flying... sweep kick?" Pamella rolled her eyes as she spoke, as if thinking very hard about something "... I wasn't exactly following the etiquette and safety rules that my parents would approve as I went down the stairs either." She then reached out to him and accepted his help to get up. Her hips complained a bit with the sudden movement, but she held in a grimace.
"If you really feel like apologizing for something, you can apologize for scaring me a bit. I thought you'd hit me with that."
She pointed the cane, but then looked happily back at him as if dropping the subject.
" ... How are you feeling? Any bruises?" Pamella blinked, suddenly distracted by something dark and rounded that she could see over his shoulder. "Oh! Right, I saw your hat falling before... " She said, walking around him to catch the small object on the ground a few meters from them. She turned around and handed it back to him with both hands.“Here you go. I.. Think it's clean. *chuckle*” she said apologetically. "I'm Pamella by the way. Pamella Bolivar. Sorry again."

The situation was diffused; the student took his hand and he helped her up. She complained about Travis apologizing, the possibility that she could've been struck by Theodore, et cetera. She continued to ask him if he felt alright, if he had any bruises; however, to only be distracted when she noticed his missing hat. The boy was finally aloud to speak up when she presented him his hat and her name, Pamella Bolivar. "Sorry again." she ended as Travis slowly grabbed his hat with one hand, cocked his head downwards, and donned his hat in a rather dramatic fashion, sliding his hand across the front end of the hat's brim like a stereotypical mobster.

"No need to apologize; all's forgiven by this point." he said, brushing the top of the hat off, taking care of any leftover dirt, dust, and debris that may have been missed. He then decided to immediately get to the heart of the matter. "So; why the rush, are you meeting someone for a tour of the grounds or something?" Travis asked, giving he bad leg one last feel over, just to make sure it got out of that fall perfectly fine.

(OoC - Sorry 'bout the short post, couldn't think of anything else to add and it was 1:35AM when I wrote this out :P )

(OoC - No worries; I didn't write enough info for you to work with now that I think about it. And sorry for being so late. XD I'm having to draw a lot of stuff for my classes this week and they are eating up my free time, I'll still try my best...!)

The boy assured her once again that all was well, putting his hat in a quite different fashion that made Pam's tiny smile increase slightly, eyebrows curving now in obvious curiosity. He dusted off the hat one last time with his hand then asked casually: "So; why the rush, are you meeting someone for a tour of the grounds or something?"

"Meeting ..." she repeated the word, and then her mouth paused in a shape of a small 'oh'. She glanced down for a moment, then back at him, searching for the words "Oh no no... I came to explore the school by myself. I don't quite enjoy guided tours. I feel like I'm spending precious time finding out where the chemistry lab is when I would truly like to be exploring freely elsewhere. "

The girl smiled at him a friendly way. She spoke in a cheerful tone, but sometimes there was a little pause between sentences. "Nah. I I saw someone who caught my attention down below. *pause* Ah ... Not in a rude way! I wasn't checking out people or anything like that." she quickly added, waving her hands. She paused again, and ... "You see, I could not help noticing because he was outside with that wall of water falling for a good two or three minutes ... It was a sore, drenched thumb with a blue umbrella." The girl nodded thoughtfully "I could not find a single reason for someone not be inside the building with this weather if they can avoid it." Almost like making her point, the sound of thunder shook the glass of the nearby windows. "...I mean, if someone is waiting for a taxi, he can at least stay in dry area to do that, right?"

Pamella put a hand on her hips and looked at some point in the ceiling. Then, she stared at the lad, the other hand rubbing the back of her neck.

"I dont know ... It's mostly just me wanting to see what he's doing. Or at least ask him to enter before he catches a cold..."
(...)

Pamella peered through the glass doors on the ground floor, scanning the surroundings by the entrance gate. But there was no person with identifiable blue umbrella.
"... He's gone. 'Guess he was waiting for someone after all?" she muttered.

(Ooc: I thought it would be helpful for you to know that the man is no longer there. I usually put a (...) in parts that I would like to develop so that the story reaches the text that comes below it.)

Travis, being the patient, observant boy he was, listened to Pamella's explanations, giving a nod here and a "Mhmm" of acknowledgement there to show that he was paying attention. Okay; she doesn't enjoy guided tours, she seems to care for those around her, even a simple stranger who she feels would be better off standing outside and not in the pouring rain. Travis processed all of these thought uninterrupted while she spoke, giving his signs of listening every now and then. He could've sat here all day and listened to her speak; had his train of thought not been derailed when a mighty crack of thunder managed to shake the windows with it's power. This caused the boy to jump a little and let out a light yelp.

"I don't know ... It's mostly just me wanting to see what he's doing. Or at least ask him to enter before he catches a cold..." the lady Bolivar pointed out. "Well..." Travis said hesitantly as he pointed at the glass doors nearby that offered a clear view of the area near the front gate. A quick inspection showed that there was no one there anymore. "He appears to be gone now..." he said, pointing his head back in Pamella's direction. "... He's gone. 'Guess he was waiting for someone after all?" she muttered.

"Maybe so... or maybe he's watching us now?" Travis said in a rather teasing tone in an attempt to lighten the mood. Don't get him wrong, Travis completely believed Pamella in her claims of the boy at the gate, hell he was now briefly recalling seeing the boy as he walked in earlier; he simply wanted to shift the mood to a brighter, more happy one. He snapped his head upwards; looking directly up the staircase, an obviously-fake scared expression on his face. "M-M-Maybe he's up there right now, l-l-listening in on us r-right now!" he lightly shouted, his voice really selling the cheesiness of his fear, the tone he spoke in making him seem like a D-List horror star.
