The weather was sunny and warm, this worried the teen walking down the street, thoughts of impossible things happening.

This is odd for fall... Far too strange!
If it stays like for too long, there going to be forest fires and burning forest will lead to destroying houses.
People living on the streets, I would be the only to live on the street since of my terrible luck.

These thoughts were running in the of the new student, he run his hand through his slicked hair, while the other hand was playing with the rabbits foot around his neck.
Conrad was his name, he was as pale as a sheet from the impossible thoughts in his mind.

He read of this ritual that will bring him luck, he span in place, three times.
gaining a few strange looks from bystanders.

After he span he was a little dizzy, but the guide did say to do that before going to a new place for good luck.
"I don't want bad luck today...pleeeeease?!" He preyed out loud which causes some of the students to walk faster and give him weird looks.

Because of his dizziness and him not paying attention, he stepped into the only puddle on the street, which was close to his destination.
It was deeper then it looked, he stepped in it, it completely soaked his shoe, that good luck ritual did nothing... Nothing! "Why do you too this to me?! Why did I ever do to you Lady Luck!?" He cursed out loud, which causes more students to walked quickly; really quickly.

He pulled out his foot out if the puddle, with a look of defeat, today will be a terrible day isn't?
As he walking towards the school he was mumberling good charms, and holding onto the rabbits foot for dear luck.

I wish at least to know am lucky for someone else, right now it feels like Lady Luck making me her punching bag. Was the thought he was thinking, filled with annoyance for his luck.

Lian walked down the road to her new school humming along a simple tune. She enjoyed the unusually warm august sun that seemed to stall for more time before winter would claim the land. Like usual, she had her head in the clouds and only peripherally noticed a person cursing and making a small ruckus.
Going on about the different subjects she had today, and checking mentally if there was anything more to add to her homework, the petite chinese girl only stopped short when her eyes caught something shiny.

"Oh! How lucky!", she exclaimed in joy and bent down. Some fairy had made her look down just in time! What great luck! She picked up a small coin from the concrete floor and happily examined it, ignoring the people voicing anger at her sudden stop.

It was a penny! Lian held the slightly rusty coin up towards the sun to admire the bronze shine. Then she symbolically made a gesture as if spitting on it thrice. That was how it was done originally to cleanse it from evil influence, but today it was used as a good luck ritual. Lian smiled at the thought of that and remembered the second part of the ritual.

The girl with the short black hair finally looked up from her treasure and looked around aimlessly. She could just give it to anyone, but maybe someone she knew was around.... But wait. That guy over there, wasn´t he just cursing and thrashing about? She could see why. He had walked into the ONLY puddle on the whole road! Lian wondered a little while watching him and finally chuckled. The way he moved and his general aura of... nervousness reminded her of a bunny. Now the only thing missing was that he took out a pocket watch and mumbled "I´m late!".

Taking her Lucky Penny with a little resolve, she headed over to him and braved enough courage to talk to him. Despite being older than her, he seemed harmless.
"Excuse me, I couldn´t help but notice your slight misfortune. I just found this penny, and tradition says it will bring more luck if gifted to another person. To both." She smiled openly, but not too friendly for a stranger at the older boy. She didn´t want to frighten him. Ha, just the thought, her frightenig someone! But still... He seemed on edge and she knew that feeling.

Conrad sighed, at least it was warm out, or else he might've to give someone a lucky person's foot.
He shuddered at the mere thought, he has to be more careful, more watchful and villigant of his safety, so that he will not get sneaked on by dange--
"Excuse me."
His thoughts were cut when a small voice surprised him, but he was brave enough not to scream and run away, but brave like a rabbit and only got scared half to death unlike his three forth to death, and jumped to look towards the voice.

He sighed, seeing it was only someone whom probably wouldn't be able to hurt him...much...hopefully.
The girl spoke up again. couldn´t help but notice your slight misfortune. I just found this penny, and tradition says it will bring more luck if gifted to another person. To both."
She smiled kindly, Conrad was speechless nobody has ever giving him a good luck charm without hearing his plight, and this was his first day, and good luck for both? Mother of god...

He didn't know what to say, "T-thank you, I always have terrible luck when am with others... I-It would be nice to have good luck for myself as will." he said quietly not really sure how to reply, since if he too forward about his luck granting abilities, he might cause the wrath of Lady Luck.
This must be super awkward, like if he was a superhero, he would be awkwardman with the power to make everything filled with awkward silence.

"Thank you, I'm awkward by the way....wait, no it Conrad! you're a very swift life destroyer Lady Luck.
"Sorry about that am not used to getting good luck charms, what's your name, since I rudely forgot to ask?" He asked her in a polite tone of voice, his mind is full of thoughts of how this conversions could end terribly.

That was too much, when the boy jumped in shock, Lian couldn´t hold it anymore and hid her chuckle behind her hand. In the next second she felt bad for it though. She didn´t know about him, maybe he had serious paranoia and she was laughing at it...
To quickly cover that up Lian gave her introduction too.
"Please, don´t worry yourself. Everyone can use a little blessing of Fortuna from time to time. My name is Fei Lian, I´m a freshman in Ravencroft." She looked at his own Ravencroft uniform. He could be a Junior or a Senior, judging by height and possible age.

"Where you here for school open day, Conrad-shi?" Originally, Lian had intended to hand the penny over and then be on her way again, but Conrad seemed like a nice person, so she motioned for them to keep on walking to school together.

Music flowed to Aarons ears from the earbuds of his Mp3 player, filling his mind with thoughts. What did the song writer intended to tell with his song? How many had listened this song and asked the same thing? Or did anyone even care? Aaron took the earbuds from his ears, and showed them in his pocket with the player. They would tangle, but he didn't mind it.
After school, he would go to Shottori-Sensei's dojo, so he had his training gear (sweatsuit and sneakers) with him. They were in the bottom of his bag. Sensei said last time, that he would taught something different today. When Aaron asked what it would be, he only smiled mysteriously and ignore the question. He was good at keeping the suspension...

Aaron's trail of thought was interrupted by loud yelling from behind him. It seemed like that brown haired boy had stopped in the deep puddle in the middle of road. Kind of impressive, since it was only puddle in the whole road. Boy yelled to no one particular, about how Lady Fortune had crudge against him. All the students seemed to avoid him, except one small girl. She gave the boy a penny, saying it brings luck. This made Aaron feel kind of guilty. He had no reason to feel so, but yet he did, and he didn't understand why. That small girl tried to help other person, who she didn't even know. Aaron wondered, if someone would have helped him in the past, would things have turned out as they had?

Aaron decided not to just stand aside, as so many had stood when he was being bullied (this guy was bullied by bad luck, but still). He took his sneakers from his bag, took off his leather shoes and put sneakers on. Then he walked to the boy, who was back turned at him. Aaron tapped him gently to the shoulder, and offered leather shoes he was now carrying.
"Here, take these. They might be few numbers too big, but it's better than walk with wet shoe." Aaron said. Though his expression was the usual blank one, there was caring tone in his voice, that surprised Aaron himself. Maybe it was because he knew what it was like to walk in wet shoes, when his shoes was thrown in river. During winter.

The young girl, seemed to giggle at Conrad's shocked reaction, it does happened from time to time, most times it hurts to get laughed at. But she seems too nice to laughing out of malice, he scratch the back of head in embaressment.

She introduced herself to Conrad,"Please, don´t worry yourself. Everyone can use a little blessing of Fortuna from time to time. My name is Fei Lian, I´m a freshman in Ravencroft" She such a nice girl, most people usually back away quickly when he talks to someone, Lain kind of act like someone he knew, Emily.
It's nice to be given a blessing, he thought.
"It's nice meeting you Lian, Like earlier, my name's Conrad the human rabbit foot, as I call myself." He replied back to her with a smile, most people kind of unnerve him, but lain was okay so far in his book, will anyone's if their give him a good luck charm.

Lain spoken up again, "Where you here for school open day, Conrad-shi?"
The opening day? The gala?

Before Conrad could speak up, something tapped his back.
He froze in place for a second, then looked behind himself quickly, to make sure it wasn't one of those elusive early day mugging and or kidnapping.

But sighed relieved that he wasn't holding a gun or knife. especially a cloth covered in chloroform.

But a pair of shoes, leather shoes to be perceive. Was he letting letting him borrow them.
...
I-Is Lady Luck being fair to Conrad? For once?
He felt like crying out of feeling like he was getting good luck for once, in years.

The fellow with the shoes spoke up.
Here, take these. They might be few numbers too big, but it's better than walk with wet shoe" the guys said, with a straight face, but a caring tone of voice.
Conrad was speechless, the penny was Lady Luck gift for today isn't!

He grabbed his shoes, Conrad tried to keep calm, but he had a huge smile on his face.
"Thank you, I'm Conrad, what's your name?" When was the last time he felt so lucky?
it was a nostalgia feeling, a good feeling.

Yes he was a nice, clumsy, friendly boy and Lian had to smile at his antics. She was a little surprised at the entry of the other boy, but the act of kindness made her beam at him. That was something she could not have done, and the way he looked it was a little uncomfortable for him too.

"How nice of you!", she exlaimed at him and wondered why he had pulled out from the mass to help out. He looked rather withdrawn, and his blank face reminded her of a story she had once read about a frost king...

Lian took out her cell and checked the time while the two introduced each other. When they were finished, she nodded to Conrad with an apologetic smile. "Excuse me, but I have to head to classes now. I hope the penny brings you luck!"

The reaction of the boy was unexpected to Aaron. When he saw Aaron, he was about to cry out of joy. Well, rather for seeing shoes Aaron was offering. But the fact that he didn't seem to mind Aaron's scary outerior, was something Aaron wasn't used of.
"Thank you, I'm Conrad, what's your name?" The boy spoke with slightly pitched voice.
"Aaron." He replied, slightly confused. When was the last time someone he didn't know thanked him?
"How nice of you!" Said the girl. Lian was her name, if Aaron had heard right. She too was smiling at him, and didn't seem to mind his outerior. Aaron wondered, that maybe there was something different in himself, rather than differnce in the eyes of others.

"You did far more than I did." Aaron said to Lian, still holding his normal face. Man can walk without shoes, but not without hope. Then he turned his attention back to Conrad.
"Your shoe will dry faster if you take off it's insole, and put it hanging outside of your bag. When you don't need my shoes anymore, you can leave them to janitors room. I'll find them from there." Then he heard Lian speak about classes. Aaron checked his watch. He had 5 minutes before class starts.
"And I'll have to run too. Take care." He said to the Conrad, and started sprinting towards the school.
While running, he noticed a wierd feeling. He didn't understand what it was, but it felt good. Someday he might realize, that it was the feeling he gets, when he helps others.

The newly introduced young man, appeared slightly confuse by over Conrad's reaction.

If only he knew the full extent of Lady's luck hatred of Conrad,

"Aaron." The youth told Conrad, said person would've weep if it wasn't for the awkwardness that would be caused by doing this that.

"How nice of you!" Lian exlaimed, towards Aaron, who couldn've agreed more.

Now that Conrad got a better look at him, he was kind of scary looking, but who cares, Conrad doesn't, anyone who is willing to give up a good pair of shoes to him in his terrible luck is a saint in his book.

Aaron and Lain exchange a quick sentence between each other, then Aaron looked toward him, than quickly instruct him to, "Your shoe will dry faster if you take off it's insole, and put it hanging outside of your bag. When you don't need my shoes anymore, you can leave them to janitors room. I'll find them from there."

Conrad unknowingly had thoughts of how Lady luck could destroy the guy's poor shoes, and their look nice too.

But shake his head if he stays away from others, until his own shoes become dry, their will be safe, thank you convoluted loopholes. "Thank you again, Aaron, Lain, nobody helped me like this...often." He expressed delighted by the supposed bad beginning of the school year, but it looking up, to the ninth degree and higher.

Lain pulled out a cell phone and looked at the time, and give them an apologetic smile,

"Excuse me, but I have to head to classes now. I hope the penny brings you luck!" She has no idea...
... How late was it? But first.
"oh Lain, before you leave. I own you and aaron something, for each of for kind act!." " Conrand told her
"how about tea, or something? Aaron's shoes should be dry by then. So how about you two?"

Aaron himself pulled out his watch, and replied back with, "And I'll have to run too. Take care." And with that he hastily dash to school. Conrad waved him off, hoping he heard his plan.

Has to be always a string, huh, Lady luck?
It's hasn't been this good since; Emily.

Conrad looked towards Lain, wondering what she will reply with his plans with those two.

(Okay edited, should be a better then before.

Lian had turned to leave already as Conrad called out to her again. Curious, she turned around and smiled at his request.

"You mean after school?" He was really kind-hearted! She hadn´t expected something like that. After thinking on the matter for a moment, she nodded enthusiastically. He didn´t seem like a bad guy. So, there was no harm in that.

"I would be delighted, thank you Conrad-shi! Shall we meet at the entrance this afternoon?"
They quickly determined a time that fit for everyone - they seemed to all be in different grades - then Lian bowed again and said she really had to go now. The bell would ring any moment and so she turned around and ran towards the gates, a smile on her face.

Aaron slowed down a little, when he heard Conrads offer. He turned around, and raised a thumb as a sign of acceptance. He had a technique training later that evening, but he didn't see that cup of tea (or coffee in his case) would do any harm. Besides, that way he could get his shoes back without a risk.

After making sure that Conrad and Lian understtod his voiceless reply, he turned around and started running towards the school again.

Lain repied to his ruquest, Conrad was glad that they didn't mind his request, he was worried about being a bother. But this is a good change from his normal meeting new people.

The three made a quick plan, meeting up after class, Aaron agreed silently, with only a thumb up; simple yet says everything needed to be say. He needed to learn to be simple, like that.

"Sounds like a plan, see you two then."

Conrad waved goodbye to the pair, Lain left with a smile across her face, and Aaron left in a rush not a talkative one is he? but he nice and that all that matters to be perfectly frank.

Why is Lady Luck being nice to him? maybe that good luck ritual he did. earlier did work!
Doing that every morning from now on!

The bells of the school ringed through the air, with a simple tune, he gotten distracted and forgetting the time and need to rush.

He ran to the school quickly, he cursed his luck as he ran off.
But for a first day, it could've been much worse, and he couldn't wait to get tea and say thank you better to the pair, but first; school.
