He had entered in the normal fashion, just a Japanese young man in his hat and trenchcoat as per usual. However, for this occasion, he decided to spice things up just a tad and give this event a bit of class. Even though it was not necessary for him to do such, he did like to give it a try every now and again, just to be different. What do we mean? Well, he stepped area and found a place to hang up his coat and hat...to reveal that Hakuro Kuroda was dressed to kill. He was in a nice tuxedo and undershirt, tie and everything. It could have been any black-clad gentlemen, be it Bond or Roger Smith. The idea was that he wanted to do it, and be awesome doing it. "Well, now that I'm here, it's time to mingle. The thing of it is, I barely know anyone here, so this is the time, the night to make myself known." And he was doing it while de-hat-ified. And in that lay the question... Would he even be recognizable without his accustomed attire? Possibly. Faculty who had seen him wandering around and learned of his eccentric habits - such word was getting around, after all - had asked him to at least take off the things while in class, which was a fair request. Now...perhaps he could get in a few acquaintences to practice his gentlemanly words upon. There was no better practice for Drama than in real life. It was something to do, anyway, a fun diversion that made the night even more interesting... |

"Leon come on!" "No come with me Leon!" "G-girls!" Near the entrance there was a group of girls picking and pulling a blonde with a pair of red goggles in his hair. By his arms like he was a doll of sorts. There as about 10 different girls trying to gain affection and dance with the blonde. That was when Leon saw a japanese boy walking by. Seeing an easy way out of the group of girls Leon raised his hand and said in a loud voice. "Yo! How you doing Dude?" Of course Leon didn't know who it was. He was just trying to get away from the horde of women surrounding him however he could. He just hoped he hadn't gotten the attention of someone who might possibly hate his guts or something or leave him to his fate. "Been a while man, how you-HEY THAT'S MY HAIR YOU'RE PULLING! OW!" |

"Yo! How you doing Dude?" Ara? There had been some sort of commotion to the left of him involving a bunch of girls and one guy stuck between them. Blonde guy suddenly called out to him out of the blue, causing Hakuro to stop in mid-step and look over. It was a scene that would evoke pity, or perhaps envy. How do you measure the luck of a an who gets all the girls, but can't handle them all? Is this how Bruce Wayne felt sometimes, billionaire bachelor of Gotham City that he was? This guy didn't seem like that, just immensely popular. He was calling to him for a reason, though. "Been a while man, how you- HEY THAT'S MY HAIR YOU'RE PULLING! OW!" He was looking for a way out of this mess. Well, he' already heard the man's name, so with an arms-wide-open gesture, he turned to him and - pleasant smile planted on his face - spoke in his best friend-at-a-party voice he could muster... "Leon, it's been forever, man! Popular with the ladies as always, I see. Speaking of which..." He gave a bow to his entourage and spoke like Sean Connary. "Good evening, ladies. My name is Kuroda, Hakuro Kuroda." There, that should give him something to call him by other than 'Dude'. He then reached in for Leon's arm and tried to pull him away from the throng under a false pretense. "I need to borrow him, if you don't mind. Important things to talk about." |

Oh thank whatever was looking out for him that day. This guy he just called out to randomly answered his prayers and gave him a helping hand. Though Leon could tell that the guy was jealous of all the attention he was getting form the girls. Still Leon owed him for getting him out of this jam. Leon moved away from the girls who all gave a group sigh and awwwww. Leon turned back to the girls and did a small bow, his right arm crossing his stomach. This made them all go from sad to giddy and excited within the blink of an eye. "Don't worry Ladies I will be back. Now what is it that you wanted to talk about Hakuro?" Leon played it off as if the two knew each other and followed the guy along. When they eventually got out of earshot of the girls Leon let out a sigh of relief. "Thanks. I owe you one. Seriously I would have ended up dancing with all of them if you hadn't bailed me out. Name's Leon KuraKaze, as you've picked up already. Charmed to meet ya Hakuro." Leon had begun to relax sightly, but he knew in the back of his mind he'd end up being stalked and pulled around by the girls again. Or a different group. Leon was just cursed and lucky at the same time unfortunately. "What you see in TV about the charming handsome guy with all the ladies is NOT as easy as it looks like. They just don't give you any privacy." |

"Don't worry Ladies I will be back. Now what is it that you wanted to talk about Hakuro?" "Well, there was a problem with the thing about last week you were telling me about and I, naturally, had to look into it..." He made conversational drivel that sounded like something important, but it was all deliberately-vague double-talk and nonsense leading to nothing at all. Much ado about it, one might say. It helped that he threw in the occasional Japanese to keep things interesting. Hakuro, at least, had made some attempt to learn how to act, since wheeling-and-dealing and making connections happened to be one of his big things in life. "Thanks. I owe you one. Seriously I would have ended up dancing with all of them if you hadn't bailed me out. Name's Leon KuraKaze, as you've picked up already. Charmed to meet ya Hakuro." "Some of that wouldn't be so bad, but I take your point." "What you see in TV about the charming handsome guy with all the ladies is NOT as easy as it looks like. They just don't give you any privacy." "A real-life James Bond would be in misery. I'd ask about the goggles, but then I'm the one walking around in the hat and coat myself, most of the time. Hatto Ken Ko-to, or otherwise known as the Hatto-san. Most people don't know me outside of..." He trailed off. A strange thought occurred to him just then. It was true. The chances of many people - especially in this part of the world - knowing him outside of the fedora and the trenchcoat, outside of his Hatto attire, were very small. He was maybe a bit more distinctive here in the U.S., but not as much in Ravencroft. The effect was largely the same. sudenly, there was devilish grin on Hakuro's face. "Say, Leon. How good are you at impersonation?" |

Leon gave Hakuro a look that pretty much said 'You have no idea.' When Leon said he would have to dance with the girls, it normally meant into the fifty's. Which means a tired Leon shared around like a cheap whore to dance with girls who couldn't get enough of his attention. "Hakuro I'ma be honest it's not lucky when you got a fanclub. They all want a piece of their, well, eye candy. And I'm too nice to say no. Ever get puppy dog eyes? How irresistible they are? These girls are masters." Then Hakuro brought up Leon's goggles. Looking up towards them he let out a small chuckle. Everyone who didn't know the reason asked and he didn't mind. It was a fun story anyway. And one of his most prized possessions. He didn't mind talking about them. "My goggles? Present from a close friend. Gave them to me while I train so I didn't hurt my eyes. Martial arts tend to not work out so well if you can't see. And that's a nice little nickname for yourself but I don't think I'll remember it or use it outside of a joke." When Hakuro asked about his impersonating skills all Leon did was sigh and scratch the back of his head. Not that long and this guy was asking him to impersonate someone? Wait... "If you're about to suggest what I think you are, I'm game Mr. Kuroda." Leon had his own smile on his face basically saying Game On |

"Hakuro I'ma be honest it's not lucky when you got a fanclub. They all want a piece of their, well, eye candy. And I'm too nice to say no. Ever get puppy dog eyes? How irresistible they are? These girls are masters." Hakuro's expression went from slight confusion (because he still had a few issues with english and "I'ma be" was slang) to something of a 'Yeesh' look (from his description of himself as eye-candy to be fought over) and finally to a failed attempt to hold in laughter as he went on about the puppy-dog like look. It wasn't in offense to the boy and he said so imediately after. "I'm sorry, but I thought of what'd be like, refusing them in a cool manner and making them want you more. You poor guy!" He sympathized, really he did. When describing the problem as he had, it made Hakuro realize that it was nothing to be envious of. Too much popularity killed famous movie actors. They did things to take the edge off and it took too much. Still, the bit about the goggles made sense, though he knew someone who might find that a bit weird. Well, whatever. It wasn't really important. If it protected his eyes, then it worked, and it'd come in handy during shop classes too. "If you're about to suggest what I think you are, I'm game Mr. Kuroda." "Yes, indeed, my dear Felix. Follow me." Where to? To the coat-racks! Stepping lively, the young man led Leon over to there and - just out of sight of most people - presented the telltale hat and coat of the one whom he had been saved by. Hakuro was in high spirits now. "The thing is, I wander around like this alot. In Japan, I love to travel and make a spectacle of myself, hence the nickname. Even here, I've been around like this alot, but when I'm out of the things...admit it, I seem pretty normal, run of the mill, nothing too special. If I'm right, putting on this hat and coat will make you less-seen as Leon KuraKaze and more like Hakuro Kuroda, the Hatto-san. Uhhh...pocket the goggles, though. That's your big tell." |

"It's a curse. A wonderful curse at times I fear." Leon followed Hakuro over to the coat rack. Leon could tell the idea the guy had planned and Leon hoped to god that NO ONE saw him or else there would be a stampede through the halls chasing him. The though would be funny no doubt there but not for Leon. It always turned into another marathon until he gave the girls the slip. Luckily he was rather quick on his feet. "If this works I will so help hook you up with someone if you want. Or buy you lunch. Whichever honestly. And you're right I should pocket these in....The many pockets." Leon removed the goggles from his head, slipping the coat on at the same time. It fit right, or well enough for Leon to move in if he had to book it. He placed the goggles in one of the pockets on the inside of the coat and patted them to make sure they were there, taking the hat and placing it on himself. "That's quite the rep to gain using simply a hat and coat. Want to be a detective or something when you get older? Well how do I look?" |

It's been a hard day's night for Leon, so let's do something about that wholey-recognizable self, hmm? Sometimes, a fellow's gotta cut loose and stop being who he is. That's the life of the Hatto-san, because being Hatto was cooler by far. It demanded nothing, save for a good time to be had by all, and he generally manages on this front. Thus, he took the coat and gave it a try, noting his own personal thanks in advance. "If this works I will so help hook you up with someone if you want. Or buy you lunch. Whichever honestly. And you're right I should pocket these in....The many pockets." "Yeah, I like to be able to hold things in there. It's a great convenience, having what you want and surprising people with what you've got. But uhh...I don't really know anyone, and I kinda' like to get to know everyone. It's how I get around in life, maing connections and taking chances." As Leon removed his goggles and put on the hat, Hakuro had pulled out a two-headed fake quarter he'd packed in his own tux pocket, right next to a real quarter. He'd gotten this off of Sherry when they first met. She was a funny one, funny and cool, and even more sleight-of-hand than he was. "That's quite the rep to gain using simply a hat and coat. Want to be a detective or something when you get older? Well how do I look?" Hakuro took one look and, with a manic grin, began to make certain bowing motions while shouting "Sugoi Hatto-san!" for a moment. Once he got up... "I'll hang back so that you can be me, and then I'll blend in like an ordinary person, okay?" |

"convenience. Sure okay whatever works for you dude." Leon personally didn't like having too much on him and he could feel that a coat like this would slow him down in a run. Which would make him feel bad as this seemed like a special coat to Hakuro. So he would try his best not to get it, or the hat, damaged if he could help it. That and he was more likely to lose the hat over the coat anyway. "Getting to know people here will be easy. Follow me around and you'll have people swooning over you trying to get to know you. I guess you could call me rather popular. It would help with a start anyway." Leon scratched his head but immediately stopped. That was another sign of his and he would have to keep his idle scratch from happening as much as he could. Leon was about to say something but Hakuro started BOWING to him. What in the world?!? The glances going his way were kept form Leon's view simply because he tilted the hat. He gave a smirk to Hakuro as he began walking away. Maybe this would work, maybe it would. Who knows? "Alright let's see how this works. If this fails we're both in trouble. The girls....Well let's just say they wouldn't take kindly to trying to help me escape." |

Okay, not everyone worked to the same style, obviously, but then again the Japanese investigator in the trenchcoat and hat was also a very definite thing over in Hakuro's side of the world. He just emulated it is all. As for how special it was to him... Well, it was certainly sentimental value. He'd had them since he was a child, oversized and everything in the beginning, and carried on his tradition in the name of the Really Bored Kid of Okinawa. But in all honesty, if he lost it or had it irreparably damaged, the mourning period would be short, followed by a new hat and coat. "Getting to know people here will be easy. Follow me around and you'll have people swooning over you trying to get to know you. I guess you could call me rather popular. It would help with a start anyway." "Well, not right now, you won't. You'll be that Hatto guy with the funny remarks and the information at his fingertips. Remember to flip coins if you're making a tough decision. I do. Good luck!" He let Leon go an waited for a while before he slipped away in a different direction, whistling to himself. Perhaps a quick move over to the snack bar while keeping a watch on the Hatto Leon from the corner of his eye. For now, Leon was the Hatto-san. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Of course, as they say, clothing makes the man, an when you have a particularly-recognizable sense of attire about you, people tend to focus upon that first, and THEN things like the face and such. More than one person would have seen the trenchcoated fellow in the hat walk out into the open while the tuxedo'd Hakuro was more in the background. One in particular was a girl with black hair and glasses who - earlier - had not been able to find Hakuro. Completely missing the Hakuro nearby as she got a drink, Anri spotted the Hatto-Leon and jumped to the wrong conclusion...for now. However, she wasn't approaching yet, because might've been busy and she wanted to finish her drink. |

"Funny guy in a hat. I really am doomed if that's the case since my charm with shine through. Unless, well, you have your own charm that I'm unaware of." Leon then struck a Micheal Jackson pose just to make people look at him and roll their eyes, to keep the views off him. Seemed to work considering people let out loud groans. Leon was easily able to get through the crowd and walk near the door without as much as a glance. Holy crap it was working. Rather than heading outside Leon went back onto the dance floor and started dancing. He could dance and the jacket just made it, well, far more awesome with the movements Leon was doing. Leon was basically doing Micheal Jackson moves while combining other dance moves. |

He was having a good old time on his own for a moment, getting a little something to eat and drink, when another guy came up to him without warning. This was the brown-haired guy that had come into the place with Anri before, someone who knew Hakuro. "Hakuro, you're here? When did you step out of the trenchcoat?" "When I came in." "When you came in... You're pulling my leg." "No, absolutely not." "But...wait, I just saw- You can't be h- Just who in the hell did I see breaking out those sweet moves on the dance floor?!" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Who indeed, Hakuro mused innocently, leaving the other fellow in suspense. But nevermind them, Leon was now going the full Hatto now and drumming up Hakuro's own reputation, for better or worse. Actually, that much was entirely debatable, as he had attracted the attention of a pair of glaring eyes, eyes which spoke of recognition...albeit mistakenly. Anri had seen him and was waiting for a moment to see if there was a proper time to approach him, but then perhaps that was impossible. So, to heck with it, he was a friend so he'll understand, right? However, it was from behind that Anri approached, thus Leon would be surprised to hear... "I was unaware that you were an accomplished dancer, Hakuro-kun." Oh shit. |

Leon's dancing was catching the eyes of many. Some were amazed while others shaking their heads. Either way Hakuro's attire was catching the attention of others. Leon figured he would keep dancing for a few minutes more before heading off the dance floor. That was when he heard a voice behind him. Leon's dance stopped mid-way, his right hand holding the hat in a downward angle while his left arm was outstretched. Looking over his shoulder, keeping the bill of the hat low enough to hide his face, Leon only showed a smile. Leon did a horrible impression of Hakuro's voice to try and get away with it. "I am a man of many talents. Some only come out when they're needed so I decided to show off a few. Seems it attracted someone at least." Then a thought hit Leon's mind and made him pause. He didn't know this girl's name. At all. Which means if this girl knew Hakuro then...Uh oh. Leon chuckled a bit knowing that his guise might be up soon. "Since we're here on the floor, want to dance?" By this point Leon lifted up the hat slightly more revealing his full face, showing he isn't Hakuro. Leon's good nature took over at that point as he pulled the hat down more. |

"You did what? Does that even work?" "I admit, it's a longshot, but I like to play the odds." The other guy shrugged at the non-hatted Hatto-san. "Well, if that's the way you want it, that's how it's gotta be. 'Scuse me, but I'm actually staffing with a co-worker, so see ya." He walked off, leaving Hakuro to his own devices. So, he wasn't just here for Anri, eh? Who was this co-worker he mentioned and..really...what was it he did here in the first place? Strange fellow, that Shiro Kunekawa. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Now granted, she hadn't actually known Hakuro for that long, but there were certain things about a guy you notice immediately, certain quirky habits that make an impression right off. And Hakuro? He had a number of them. The first andd foremost, however, Leon had already. He was wearing the clothes and making a spectacle of himself, hands down. It looked like a Hatto and it just about sounded like a Hatto, but was it a Hatto indeed? "I am a man of many talents. Some only come out when they're needed so I decided to show off a few. Seems it attracted someone at least." This seemed off, really. What Hakuro tended to do was be a bit showy, whatever it was that he was doing. He'd mentioned that it was his desire to be a more odd person, to hold nothing back if it can be entertaining and fun, because he got bored easy. That being the thing, would he really only show off some moves when necessary? That didn't seem like him, but then...she didn't know enough about him, just enough that she could trust him for having done her a good service. Yet...there was something else wrong. If nothing else, he knew something of her situation, how her life was, but had not asked how she was doing in that. Her reason in coming over here was to talk to him, because she felt comfortable around him. Right now, though...something seemed out of place. "Since we're here on the floor, want to dance?" Wait a minute! The face, the hair, the eyes - all wrong! It wasn't Hakuro, but she could tell that it was his his hat and coat. Instead, there was a light-haired boy wearing his trademark clothing. Why? Anri's expression went from surprise to anger, a glare setting in as she took...a fighting stance! "If you were him, you would know I don't dance. In fact, you don't look anything like him. Why are you impersonating Hakuro? If you did anything to him, you will hurt a great deal tonight." |
