Well that wasn't what he was expecting. The girl had turned hostile when Leon showed his face which meant the girl knew the guy. Normally when Leon was threatened he didn't have any reason to worry but the issue with this was the stance looked refined. Leon could tell this girl had some sort of training which meant Leon would have to be careful even if they did get into a fight. Which Leon would try not to make happen.

"Woah woah woah! Easy! Hakuro's fine! Rather not fight someone in the middle of a crowd. That and I would feel bad if I hurt a lady."

Leon's signature head scratch as he stood there in front of the girl. This was a bad situation that could turn worse because if he started fighting then his disguise would be ruined and that would mean the horde of girls who Leon got away from chasing him and this new girl.

"Sorry if I startled you with his clothing but he's helping me move about with drawing attention of unwanted eyes. Mainly the girls. Well certain girls who just want to rip my hair out for their private diary or something."

Even while in such a relaxed state Leon still was ready to defend himself if he had to. He didn't have the skills he did because he slacked off. Though in all honesty he'd just grab the girl's hand and bring her in for a dance to lighten things up.

"With that said allow me to introduce myself. Leon KuraKaze, charmed to meet you. Now if I may inquire what's your name?"

"Woah woah woah! Easy! Hakuro's fine! Rather not fight someone in the middle of a crowd. That and I would feel bad if I hurt a lady."

"I would make sure you wouldn't."

Crap! She clearly appeared to be skeptical about his initial explanation and reassurance, plus she was very confident in her abilities. Anri rarely boasted, so when she DID...it wasn't. Ya follow? She was talented, and Leon would recognize right off that this was so, and that she could be deadly serious at times. Fortunately, his NEXT explanation held more merit.

"Sorry if I startled you with his clothing, but he's helping me move about without drawing the attention of unwanted eyes. Mainly the girls. Well certain girls who just want to rip my hair out for their private diary or something."

Her face had gone from that stern glare to confusion, and then over to wonder. Was that the sort of think Hakuro would do? He was a goodd person, if a little unorthodox. Okay, he was actually alot unorthodox, but that was not the point. What the point IS...is that she abandoned her fighting stance in preparation to believe what he was saying, because Anri realized that...she generally accepted that the hat and the coat were him, and that was a rather nasty faux pas on her part.

"With that said allow me to introduce myself. Leon KuraKaze, charmed to meet you. Now if I may inquire what's your name?"

"I see... My apologies, Leon."

She gave a quick respectful bow.

"My name is Anri Fuyunaito... I mistook you for him because, maybe like everyone, he's most-recognizable in those clothes. That was obviously the point, and I overreacted. Hakuro is a friend, so I would feel obligated to deal with something like this."

Namely, that someone would steal his things and pretend to be him, a natural assumption that was...well...wrong.

Well that died down quick. No fighting, no Leon getting hurt and causing a large stampede upon the poor girl. But it was easy for Leon to see that the girl was well versed in unarmed combat if she declared that Leon wouldn't hit her. Seems that he may have found a training partner but that thought would be for later.

"I might have to try my luck on that at some point. Not that many people here can keep up or hold their own against me. Again sorry for the unintentional deception. I wanted to walk out but it was an urge to dance that I couldn't resist. Especially when no one would recognize me."

Sometimes a guy had to let loose to get around. But Leon felt a little awkward when the girl bowed, introducing herself. But that's mostly because he as an American wasn't used to Japanese tradition of bowing as respect. Scratching his head once more Leon's tone went into one more of a relaxed and unstartled state.

"Charmed to meet you Anri. And that was the point of this whole get up. Make people think I'm him so I can either leave or move about without drawing as much attention. And don't worry I'm not, how you say, going to hold a grudge or anything against ya for your reaction. I got a friend who I'd get just as angry over if I saw something similar though if I saw someone with her jacket I would fear for their life."

Leon's face gave a sort of fear look to it when he mentioned his friend, like he had seen it personally and it wasn't pretty. Still he felt somewhat bad for almost getting into a scuffle with Anri. And then Leon's brain clicked.

"Well I know you said you don't dance but..."

Leon quickly took Anri's hand and knelt down on his knee, looking up at her.

"Would you care to have this dance?"

"I see... Well, I would enjoy sparring, as I often practice."

The boy, Leon, was pleased to meet her, and a nice person apparently as he wasn't blaming her for her reaction. Strange, though... Who else did he know that would have such a violent reaction as her? And for what reason? His expression there, though displayed briefly, spoke volumes. It was one of those things that he obviously didn't like to see happen that often, or at all, yet..this was a friend of his, apparently. Still, once he was passedd that, he had a question...

"Well I know you said you don't dance but...would you care to have this dance?"

That...caught her off-guard. Anri didn't realize it, but she backed up a half-step as an instinctive reaction to...to what? She didn't know. Was she so afraidd to trust that she'd balk at an offer in a public place from someone that a friend of hers had decided to help? Speaking of which, it wouldn't seem wrong if it looked like she was doing so with Hakuro, but...she still wasn't a dancer.

"I...don't know. I've never tried..."

"Guess I'll look for you at a later date. A spar would be fun."

Leon noticed confusion on Anri's face. He was about to ask but decided against it mostly because he didn't want to pry since the two just met. Leon was more of a gentlemen, he waited till at least the third date. Or least when he got to know someone better. Watching Anri back up Leon was startled. Did his request scare her? Or something else?

"Sorry if that was sudden. And don't worry, it won't be that hard. Just move your body a bit, sway. Think like you're fighting expect you're not attacking someone, only moving your body to the rhythm of the music."

Leon tilted the hat and looked around. He could tell she was uncomfortable with the idea. Leon didn't want to push her but figured he should at least try to help her. One of his charms anyway, helping others overcome their fears.

"If you don't want to dance we could go hunt down Hakuro. Whichever works for you but think of learning to dance as training, getting to know the person you'll end up sparing against later on."

She...wasn't sure why the reaction had happened, to be honest. It...wasn't like the last time. It wasn't...but for some reason her mind had switched on paranoia and that's just how it played out. Fortunately, it didn't last, as her mind had recovered an there wouldn't be anything further on this for the moment. Leon's reassuring words seemed to make sense...because he mentioned rhythm. That was actually very important to a Fuyunaito's fighting style, to be able to pick up and act on the rhythm of your opponent. The night now seemed more possible to work with.

"It's okay, actually. What you say makes alot of sense, so I'll try it..."

And so, she began to follow his instructions...and she appeared to adapt to it quickly.

Leon smiled as he led the girl to the dance floor and started, well, wildly dancing again similar to the style earlier. It took him a minute to realize it would be difficult for Anri to follow his steps in such an attire. Giving off an apologetic laugh as he rubbed the back of his head. Tilting the hat, he grabs Anri's hand and leads her into something more suitable for her attire, just doing simple body swaying to the music before taking her into a sort of ball room dance mixed with a hip hop beat.

"So how long have you been here? School or city whichever you wish to tell if anything at all. I've been here for a few years only coming here because they actually allow Japanese Kendo practice here. I always wanted to give it a try but most places don't exactly allow sword fighting."

Leon's voice near the end started to sound dull, like he was annoyed with the idea that most didn't allow Kendo. But a sport that allows people to physically beat each other with sticks in a school? Oh wait there's hockey, Leon had forgot about that.

"Hmm...I gotta ask now that it comes to me what kind of style do you fight with? Might as well do a little research, ya know?"

It wasn't actually THAT hard for her to follow the moves. Anri was something of a prodigy for being precise and capable physically, so long as it wasn't something that required raw strength. Dancing was something she was never into, but she didd have aptitude for it, at least. Even still, Leon changing the pace did help her anyway. He seemed like an alright person, so long as he didn't try anything that was out of line. If he was a true gentleman, though, that would never even come up.

"So how long have you been here? School or city whichever you wish to tell if anything at all. I've been here for a few years only coming here because they actually allow Japanese Kendo practice here. I always wanted to give it a try but most places don't exactly allow sword fighting."

This seemed to catch her attention, her interest even. She answered quietly, though.

"I haven't been in this country very long, though I studied hard to understand the language. Do they really have that here? I enjoy martial arts and kendo, in fact. I'm very skilled, and consider it a pasttime, if not a discipline of mine."

She remembered actually enjoying it before it was ever needed for anything serious. It brought a smile to her face to see how pleased her family was with her abilities. To be able to practice against her brother, or even her mother, was a great joy because she could feel her abilities climbing alongside them. Now, however, it was more...serious business...ever since that day...

"Hmm...I gotta ask now that it comes to me what kind of style do you fight with? Might as well do a little research, ya know?"

She thought on this. How best to explain? It wasn't a simple answer...

"We do not have a...set style, per se. We were taught to adapt existing styles to our needs, for it all to revolve around our core discipline...which is to seek the rhythm of your surroundings and work within them. Learning this, any strike can be quite formidable, as it is adapting to your foe."

There was no harm in telling him this. It takes a long time to work on that, even when you're good. It has to become an instinct or it will seem too forced and cause a slip-up. The best styles are the most difficult ones to master.

"Not long huh? Well you'll get accustomed to it. Noticed you followed along quite well with the dance. And yeah. They got both a martial arts club and armed martial arts club. I help the younger students with Kendo, Judo, and Karate. Rather skilled in all three if I say so myself but never sparred with someone who actually has a higher understanding of martial arts than I do besides the Sensei. Though most people would call me a brute in Kendo because...Well I have a bad habit of not knowing how to hold back."

Leon spoke slightly softer with the last part, a sign of him knowing one of his weaknesses and detesting it. It is true he accidentally injured a few students during club time but most came back because they wanted to try their luck against him again. It was fun. Speaking of fun Leon was enjoying himself here as well.

Leon listened to her explanation. So it was an adapting style. Leon's face formed a grin hat basically said "Challenge Accepted". He was already liking this girl and they haven't even known each other for very long. But compared to her Leon felt, well, unaccomplished. For starters he felt like he had fallen behind such a person who Leon believed might be younger. She also seemed to hold more discipline in her form just from the brief glance from before.

"So a fluid style huh? Be a change of pace from around here. Most students who join up want just the raw power from martial arts, thinking that they can take people out with simple chops or punches, throws even. Luckily I use a more defensive unarmed approach, waiting for counters. Kendo on the other hand I have a more aggressive approach while retaining the awareness I use in unarmed sparing. One of the better things I've been told by my Sensei's is that I seem to have eyes everywhere, able to predict and see the next moving coming my way."

In all honesty Leon's style was more of counters and power strikes when he had an opening. He always watched and used his opponent's mistakes to his advantage or found ways around certain strikes or movements. But once he had the advantage he pressed it until having to back off or getting the decisive blow.

"It would be fair to say that I do not hold back either, never hold back...but for different reasons."

She had a moment of looking like something she thought about bothered her, but she shook it off. Anri was a strong girl. She did what must be done. Even if the one it's being done to is a friend of the family, someone she once trusted and could never be trusted again... Never... The thought that brought her back to it was Leon's interest in the clubs. She had to get in on these. It was important that she continue to expand her abilities, highly important...or possibly an obsession. Anri did like, however, that there were people who would fight in this school.

"That's impressive, though you're right. Power is nothing in the hands of those who don't know what to do with it. I do not have power...but I am skilled. It would be...enjoyable to train against someone I'm not familiar with. However, I mut ask that you do not act like Hakuro during those times. That sort of reputation would get him hurt."

She wasn't...overly-confident, or trying to belittle the boy with the skill that she has focused on into the exclusion of numerous other things, but she did know what she was capable of...and Leon sounded like he was rather skilled himself.

"Sometimes ya need to know restraint. But I understand if you got your reasons."

Leon caught onto her look before it vanished. Something about what she said bothered her but they just met each other so he didn't want to pry. Not just yet anyway. He still had other things on his mind at the moment as he dance with Anri. She was cute but if the popular crowd saw this display and with Anri as capable as she sounds.....Yeahhh disaster.

"Trust me. I wouldn't act like Hakuro outside of this moment. I got to roam around free tonight with his help so I wouldn't do anything to get people after him for it. Now if I threw off the hat and coat then I might punch someone if they provoke or attack me but with this attire I'd just dodge."

Leon hoped that Hakuro was atleast about to dodge things if he couldn't fight. If not...Well Leon would make him seem more badass and not someone to mess with. It could work both good and bad so either way it could end up poorly for Hakuro.

"I agree with ya on that one. Training with someone you've never trained against gives you new insight. Especially since I change styles every fight, switching up in the middle of one to keep my opponent guessing. "

He understood that her reasons were her own and wasn't judging her. Interesting. Alot of people appeared to be respecting that around here. That was good... Furthermore, it was nice to know that he understood about the position of not making a friend of hers look bad or anything. Though...what Hakuro coul do in a fight, she never knew. Anri never tried to fight him, but...he did seem to be the dodging type. One thing, however...

"I agree with ya on that one. Training with someone you've never trained against gives you new insight. Especially since I change styles every fight, switching up in the middle of one to keep my opponent guessing. "

Anri raised an eyebrow.

"Every time? That sounds a little compllicated. How any styles do you use?"

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hakuro seemed rather pleased with himself as he drank his drink. This is the second time he'd intervened in Anri's life. The first was to recognize the name of this poor quiet girl he'd met and return to her a most precious thing: Her family. And now, by chance, she was dancing with a boy in his coat and hat that seemed to capture her interest. He hoped that one would work out well.

"Say, aren't you Hakuro Kuroda?"

"Uhhh...no? I'm just part of the background color."

He looked at who was talking. It was one of Leon's girls...but more than that, Hakuro recognized her as one of the girls from the halls that he met while searching for the main school office.

"I've seen you before, usually in that weird get-up. If you're here, who's out there?"

"Oh, that's my stunt-double."

"You have a stunt-double."

"Just for one night. I wanted my presence known, but I also wanted to class it up a bit."

"I see. So, where's Leon? You were talking to him."

"He's talking to an old friend."

Yes, he was, but Hakuro didn't exactly say WHOSE friend it was.

As Leon continued to dance with Anri her question made him pause for a moment. He wasn't even sure how many styles he actually used that had real names for them. He personally just called them what they were used for when in a match or otherwise. Though he could answer a bit since they had about the same style all around.

"If they have real names I don't know but I have a style depending on the type of fighting I need to do. Evasive, aggressive, defensive are a few examples. I have about two or three variations of each style as well so if people have seen it before they might expect that same style. Switching up keeps them off balance and works out in my favor."

Leon hoped it didn't sound too complex or complicated. He tried to explain it the best he could simply but even he didn't understand his own styles at times, simply going with the flow of the fight and using what he believed to be the best option.

"There's also just the simple 'Go With the Flow' style where I just do whatever I think needs to be done."

She blinked at that.

"We seem to be more alike than I thought. I met another who fights tonight. He seemed nice. Perhaps we should all join these clubs."

Well, that much just seemed logical, at least. If Leon was really that talented, then perhaps he was the ideal person to train against and focus her abilities on an even greater scale. If nothing else, it would keep her abilities from fading, something that she had been worried about. So...was this a case of Anri finally coming out of her shell? Somewhere among the people here, another young man smiled.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

"So, who is he, your stunt-double I mean?"

"Huh? Oh, just some guy I met."

"He's not that delinquint we met when I saw you first, is he?"

"Nah, though I think you're being too hard on the guy."

After all, he wasn't so bad a person, really. Just a bit bothered by people who judge him too quickly.

"I'm already part of them so I wouldn't mind showing you and this other guy around. Introduce you to people and all that. Just don't get too, how should I put it, aggressive. The teachers here take injuries on other students rather serious."

It was true. Leon had left a few bruises and in one case a broken arm from a hit that was too aggressive and he was already on thin ice with the stuff. Now if he introduced people who were just as aggressive it could turn out worse.

"Ya know I never did ask, where did you and Hakuro meet? You two seem like you have some history if you were ready to kick my ass for wearing his coat."

The thought still scared him but Leon mostly didn't want to be seen and if he was fighting out on the floor...Well let's just say some of his fans might recognize his style and come after him. Which would spell trouble for Hakuro. And possible Anri.
