(This is set BEFORE "We want... information" by about 3 hours or so.)

The first technical day of school was, as always, a boring one. Sadly, that was one of the very few things that had never changed for Rei Takeda, even now, even in another country. Therefore, the young man had entered his homeroom, introduced himself, and then made his way to the roof while the other students flooded the hallways, on the way to first period.

Of course, it did not take long for him to fall asleep while there despite the thoughts that turned in his head obnoxiously, like a multitude of gears grinding against one another to the point where it filled the entirety of the world around them with sound.

>>>>>>>>>>>LUNCH TIME>>>>>>>>>>>>

Despite the fact that Rei had been napping on the roof each and every time he could since his last year of middle school, he simply could never sleep through the lunch time or "end of the day" bells. The former of which caused his eyes to flutter open.

The blunette let out a groan as he sat up, quickly shaking his head to clear the grogginess whilst simultaneously taking in his surroundings with an exceptionally apathetic expression. One that turned to a smile when he thought he was entirely alone...

(Poor OP, could not think of anything.)

The first proper day of school at Ravencroft High was an interesting experience, especially when compared to the school he went to in Japan. Then again so was living in an apartment in America without your family, thought Sora. Right now though he was walking around the school during the lunch period, trying to find the most quiet spot to eat everyday. Sadly most of the more obscure locations to be alone seemed to be filled with students in this school, so on a whim he decided to go for the most obvious spot, the roof.

To his surprise the roof looked empty when he opened the door. The only person there was a guy with oddly blue hair who looked like he had just gotten up. Ignoring him, Sora walked over to the rails and began to lean on them, glad to find a place that was quite and offered a great view of the sky.

(Good lord this post is bad...)

Rei's ears picked up on the sound of approaching footsteps, though it did not seem to be those of a big crowd and therefore, he paid no mind to them and stood, moving to look over one of the railings at the world below.

As he took in the sights, he heard the footsteps growing in volume, until eventually he was joined by a Japanese looking boy that did not bother to speak, which in turn was something of a blessing considering how groggy he felt and therefore, how little he wanted to interact with others.

Adjusting his glasses, the bluenette reached into his pocket and became immersed with his phone, namely some of the pictures of the gala's dead body he'd copied over from the internet that morning. Eventually it came to a point in which the male decided that simply staring at it would not allow him to come to any sort of conclusions about it.

In short: He needed information.

So, he turned to the other boy and spoke in the usual tone: one of standard apathy and intelligence with hidden cold tinges here and there. It was not in his nature to speak, especially regarding such types of information.

"Hey, did you hear about the body at the opening gala?"

It was a direct question, one that did not require any sort of familiarity and clearly implied that the thin boy simply did not wish to establish any sort of friendship. It was all business to him.

(It's a terrible post, I know.)

Sora was pleasantly surprised when the blue haired young man decided to ignore him. Seems like he also came up here for some peace and quiet, Sora thought. He continued to stare up into the sky, mulling over all that had happened since he arrived in Rockport, when the young man decided to ask him that particular question.

The chained up dead body. It seemed to be something on everyone's mind as of late. Not that Sora would blame them. He too was worried about it. It had taken a lot of talking with his parents to even convince them to let him stay here after the body had been found. With the way the blue haired man had asked the question though, it seemed less like he was worried about it and more like he just wanted to know more about it. Unfortunately for him Sora didn't know much about it at all. He had left for his apartment shortly after it had began, and it was the news report he saw that allowed him to even know that it had happened.

Letting out a sigh, Sora turned to the other guy and said to him, "I have heard about it. But I don't know much more about what happened besides what was on the news." Turning back to the sky he put forth his own question. "Why ask that sort of question anyway? It seems like an odd topic to bring up."

(Hey you're posts are miles ahead of mine.)

The other Japanese boy's response didn't seem to garner much of a reaction from Rei, who had ceased looking at the crowds of students below and had instead opted to look out at the sky. Inside, however, he was extremely annoyed with such a fact, considering that meant he had not found a source of valuable information as he'd first thought. Regardless, their shared want of solitude seemed relatively nice, and even a little intriguing.

To the other boy's question, the bluenette yawned and stretched before turning his gaze towards him. For a moment, he thought of how to word the response he'd prepared, though that took several seconds and created a moment of blissful silence, silence that was soon shattered by his calm voice,

"Well, I'm curious. I wasn't present at the time, I had to do..." A few images of that night flashed before him for a moment, and he cut himself off abruptly, taking a few seconds before finishing with,

"Other things. I'm Rei Takeda, by the way."

(Thank you for the positive feedback, Euph, but don't sell yourself short.)

It was another day at school, and lunchtime proved itself to be more challenging everyday, hiding from Kate had turned into an everyday activity. Today, Yoshima thought maybe he should have his lunch in the ceiling, even though it'd probably be full of people he was sure Kate wouldn't go all the way up there.

The door to the rooftop opens slowly with a creek, Yoshima slowly creeps his head outside, checking to see if the environment was safe for some lunchtime. With the corner of his eye he spots two guys standing close to the railings, one of them had a weird icy hair color. He decided to approach them.

"H-Hey..." He stuttered, hoping to not be interrupting anything. He soon recognized that the bluenette was Rei.
"Oh hey, it's Rei, you might not remember me, we met at the beach the other day. Yoshima, remember?"
He turned to the guy next to Rei and introduced himself.
"Yoshima Nakayama, nice to meet you," he said with a slight bow, "So, uhhh, I hope I'm not getting in the middle of anything, but what are you two doing all alone up here? It's kinda lonely isn't it?"
He thought for a second how ironic his question was because he himself went to the rooftops hoping it'd be empty, but he'd rather not tell them he came up here to run away from a girl on a wheelchair.

(My posts are usually around this lenght if not a bit more, sorry.)

Hearing the slight pause in Takeda's reply made Sora curious on what had happen, but the way the blue haired guy said it made it clear that the topic was one to avoid. Some things are best left unquestioned, Sora thought. Looking towards the clouds, he was about to reply with his name when another young man walked though the door to the roof. The young man, who introduced himself as Yoshima Nakayama, seemed to know Takeda. Turning around and giving a slight bow back, Sora said to the other two, "I'm Sora Hikari."

Looking over to Nakayama he said, "No you are not interrupting anything." Looking down on the ground below he added, "This place is quiet and rather calming."

(Sorry that it took so long for me to post. And sorry again that it is crap.)

The sudden appearance of Yoshima was met with a relatively bored expression, as with all things. However, when asked if he remembered, the bluenette nodded and allowed himself to recall some of the things everyone did while at the beach.

Regardless, those thoughts soon faded away, being replaced by both Rei's attempt to compile a decent answer to Yoshima's question that wouldn't seem "odd", and the introduction of the other boy, who identified himself as Sora Hikari.

With a bit of disdain, and an adjusting of his glasses and the uniform he felt was overly tight, Takeda exhaled and began to speak in his usual stoic and polite tones, tinging it with disdain for Yoshima and perhaps a bit of ire. In Takeda's own mind? The boy was the first uninteresting male he had encountered since Japan, and Rei's own dislike of both other men and uninteresting things provoked his tone as he replied,

"...I enjoy the solitude of this place, the songs of the birds, the cool breeze, and the view of the people below. It's very tranquil. Why did you come up here, Yoshima-san? Did you by any chance wish for peace and solitude too?"

Finishing his response, Rei adjusted his glasses once more and turned the majority of his attention on the boy, awaiting a response that could possibly diminish the disdain or annoyance he felt, the latter of which was primarily suppressed and laced with the typical respect, etc.

(Apologies if this post seems "bleh", I just realized I hadn't really established Rei's "Other guys are... annoying, especially if uninteresting" thing.)

Yoshima stood with his mouth agape, Rei sounded much, MUCH colder than what he remembered from that sunday at the beach. The tone and words he used hinted of disdain towards him, at least Sora had been nice enough to give him a proper reply.

"Y-Yeah... I did come here for the peace and quiet... I'm hiding from a girl in wheelchairs... It's a long story, all you need to know is that we must NOT meet under any circumstance," he said. He felt maybe that was a bit more than everybody else needed to know, but he had to talk about something, anything, the atmosphere was really heavy up there.

"So... Nice weather huh? I still can't believe a person died in the school grounds."
(...)
"I wasn't here to see it, but a friend of mine who was said that it definetely looked like it was murder, doesn't that kind of chill your spines?" Yoshima said, supporting his back on the railing.

"He kept going on about wanting to find the killer and wanting to put a stop to it himself, I on the other hand just hope none of us are in danger, I still get the bajeezus scared out of me when i hear a weird noise around the school. It's so creepy. What do you guys think?"

(Sorry it took me so long to post, I thought it was still Euph's turn but it was actually my own... OTL).

Sora was intrigued at the talk about the beach near the town. It might be an interesting place to check out now that the summer months where ending. He looked at Nakayama as he explained why he was here. The story for why he ran would have been interesting, if he actually cared about those sort of things. But he didn't really, so he decided not to pry.

After hearing the next thing he brought up after the comment on the weather, Sora let out a big sigh and turned back to the sky. After a slight pause he turned back and said, "It is rather unsettling to have that happen during the grand opening. But there isn't much we can do." Leaning back against the fencing he added, "Having it brought up constantly isn't going to change anything either."

(I really can't wait until his walls start coming down.)

The reaction Yoshima took from the tone Rei had used was... well, to be frank it was vaguely amusing to the bluenette, who found it funny that out of all the times he'd used such tones, both in America in Japan, Yoshima was of the first to notice, or at least show some kind of reaction to it.

After the younger student gave his reason for being on the roof, Rei gave a solemn nod and adjusted his glasses, and donned a curious expression. Of course, that was what had made Yoshima interesting, that one factor, but that was firstly, not something that would continue and secondly, not something that Rei himself felt he could understand, like many others. Why run from a young girl, especially one that could be in need of assistance?

"I see, but you two will have to meet eventually... maybe not right now, but eventually."

Next, to the weather comment and Sora's response, the student merely proceeded to run his fingers through his hair and straighten his uniform coat. It hadn't been since his initial tour with Claus that the boy felt such annoyance with how short and generally tight the uniform coat felt in comparison to his regular attire.

Regardless, the boy quickly ignored the weather comment in favour of what came with it, that was to say the murder. Of course, that was what he and Hikari had been discussing, and it was likely also something that he had intended to look into later that day. As a result, Rei quickly found his disdain fading, though the general coldness was still there.

"Your thought process is... amazing, Nakayama-shi. It was clearly a murder, yet you needed to rely on someone else's word. Not to be ignorant, but I believe that the news of such a thing was plastered all over the internet and the television...

Regardless, I think this is interesting, yet the only logical solution..."

Rei adjusted his glasses. Should he tell them? Considering he'd already come this far it would be rude not to, and even though he didn't exactly like other guys it was simply common courtesy, same with the mostly polite tones and speech patterns, despite the disdain and coldness mixed in with his tone and demeanour.

"It was not possible. Firstly, the event was large enough that it seems unlikely someone would not notice it, or someone carrying and/or dragging it to the location. We must also note that the staff were likely setting up for the event hours prior and would have noticed the rattling of the chains used to string the body, or they would have seen the culprit setting up for his little display."

Realizing just how much information he'd revealed, and how he'd gotten carried away, the bluenette let out a rather deep sigh and proceeded to adjust his glasses once more, before turning and looking down over the railing for a moment, then back to Sora and Yoshima.

"Regardless, I'd rather we change the subject and try to avoid talking of that. It's as Hikari-shi said, speaking of it will not change the events that have transpired."

Yoshima scratched the back of his head, this mood was awkward, not the awkward type where he'd feel embarrassed, but the one where something just didn't fit, Rei and Sora looked like a couple of complete outcasts seeking some time alone on the roof, and that was understandable because things could get pretty loud along with the other people downstairs, but they just had this... Feeling to them, like they were trying to avoid a subject and yet not having anything else to talk about.

"Are you guys even having fun up here? This place is boring as heck and both of you don't seem to enjoy company much, so then what do you in times like these? Shouldn't you try a bit harder to at least pretend to be a bit sociable to the point where you don't scare everybody around you away?" He questioned in a slightly annoyed tone, "I mean, COME ON, it's obvious you were talking about the murders before and want to avoid the subject, but do you seriously intend to just stand there all day staring at each other's faces with no expression at all?"

He ended his rant in a long sigh. It's not like he was in position to judge them, but he'd make a damn effort for those two to at least grow a likeable personality.

Sora simply stayed quite while Takeda went over what he knew about the murder, as well as some of the oddities about it. Now that Sora thought about it, nothing really added up. It made him wonder just what could have gotten the body where it was without anyone finding out. But constantly thinking of the event wasn't going to help anything, if anything it would hurt his studies if he spent too much time on it. He also stayed quiet during Nakayama's rant about the way both he and Takeda where acting. Looking over to Nakayama, Sora replied to his questions with "I intended to simply stay up here and enjoy this lunch break in relative peace and quiet. If that sounds boring to you then whatever." Walking over to the door he continued with, "Anyway I am going to head to my next class while the hallways are clear. See you guys around." With a small wave he walked through the door.

(Sora has exited stage left. Sorry about slowing this thread down.)

During the whole of Nakayama's rant, Rei simply stayed quiet and allowed his irritation to build up, to the point where cracks began to visibly show on the surface. Namely in how his stoic expression turned into a perfect, thin line in comparison to what it had been moments prior.

As Yoshima finished up, the bluenette gave a solemn nod to himself. Yes, he certainly didn't like him. First he was uninteresting and now he was being a ranting imbecile, though Rei could've likely forgiven those facts due to the fact that Nakayama was simply trying to get them to do something interesting... but it simply didn't happen immediately due to Sora's leaving, which in turn eliminated any reason he'd have for staying on the roof.

Moving to the door after Sora made his departure, Takeda calmly opened it and then proceeded to adjust both his glasses and coat, standing there for a second or two before turning to the other Japanese boy and speaking in a rather uninterested, distant tone,

"I am not asocial, it's merely that interesting individuals are those I prefer to speak to, and people like Hikari are interesting, but forcing them to talk would drive them away... I simply came here because I sought peace, nothing more."

He paused for a moment, let out a deep exhale and then continued, unleashing the irritation towards Nakayama's original uninteresting nature, his rant, and Hikari's departure in one icy torrent. Of course, doing such a thing seemed to cloud his thought process and made him prone to hypocrisy,

"If there is anyone that should be sociable, it's you. Hiding yourself from someone is simply pathetic, as is making assumptions about others based on their actions, words, or things of that nature."

Of course Rei wasn't exactly true to everyone, hence the apathy and super-stoicism, and naturally... all he could do was make analyses about other individuals, since that was how he understood them. Most of it simply boiled down to assumptions though, hence the hypocrisy in that statement.

The bluenette soon turned from the doorway and proceeded down the stairs, feeling his apathy return to him as he moved farther and farther from the rooftop. Naturally, Rei couldn't help but reflect on how stupid he'd been, not only to let such irritation out but to feel it in the first place, for such foolish reasons.

(Exeunt, Social Link... go?)

After everybody had left Yoshima let out a sigh, even though he had only 5 minutes to each the lunch he had forgotten about. He sat on the ground and clasped his hands together with an annoyed face.
"Time to eat."
He opened his lunchbox and inside were two tomatoes and half a sandwich... This might have been yesterday's leftovers.
"Maybe I should go to bed earlier so I stop making dumb decisions in the morning... I'm tired of tomatoes," he said taking a bite of the sandwich.

"That Rei guy is so bitter too *muchmunchmunch* I'm not scared of little girls... I'M NOT SCARED OF LITTLE GIRLS!"
...
He may have yelled that a bit too loud, for now he should return to class before anybody noticed he wasn't there.
