The Home Economics room was filled with students and kitchen necessities that were just begging to be used. The supervisor for the club was standing in front of class, taking a count of how many club members were here today. Masato was the boy who sat by himself in the back, paying attention to the teacher as she was about to give out instructions. "Today, I want to assess your cooking skills. There's plenty of things in the cabinets and fridges. I don't care what you make, but make sure that you're doing your best. I'd like for everyone to work with partners since a lot of you probably don't know each other," Said the teacher, giving a smile that caused students to immediately get out of their seats and get into groups. Sadly, because he didn't know anyone in this classroom, Masato was without a partner. The boy walked over to an empty station with plenty cooking utensils by him. The male thought that if he was by himself in a station, then an odd person out would hopefully come to help him. He looked into the cabinets above and was amazed by the amount of ingredients he could see. It was as if they wanted to make this classroom as close to an actual restaurant as possible. Hell, this place was better than Masato's kitchen at home. With all of these things in front of his eyes, it was hard to decide what to make. |

Lysander waltzed into the Home Economics room, his iPod headphones in his ears and his hands in his pockets. Sure, he was late, but he didn't really care. He had to discuss something with a teacher, so the one in charge of Home Ec should understand. He removed his headphones and spoke quietly to the teacher, a charming smile on his face. She simply smiled, nodded, and explained the task. So, he had to find a partner to cook with, huh? Lysander took a slow look around the room, noticing a few girls giggling and looking at him. Hmm...nah, they were all probably going to partner with each other. He kept looking around, trying to find a decent person to work with. And then, he noticed someone rather...interesting. A brown-haired, brown-eyed boy, standing by himself at a station. He smirked slightly, walking over and pausing a few feet away from the boy. He didn't recognize the boy, so he probably wasn't in the same homeroom. He had seen the boy around the fourth floor, though, so they were most likely in the same grade. "Hey, need a partner?" he asked, a slight smile on his face. He looked the boy over. Hmm...somewhat skinny, about 5'11", definitely cute. |

Masato was still looking at the ingredients, as if he was memorized by them. It was the voice of someone talking directly too him that brought his attention elsewhere. Turning around a bit quickly from surprise, Masato was greeted by a long blonde haired gentleman. He was slightly taller than himself and had blue eyes. It looked as if this boy wished to be partners with Masato. Trying to be polite, the brown haired boy gave a small smile to the other. "Yes, thank you," He said. It was then that he noticed the other's eyes looking up and down his body. Why was he doing that? Could it be that....no. No. He was just going to pretend that it didn't happen. The last thing he needed was his cheeks being bright red and be embarrassed. "I'm Masato, who are you?" He asked while turning back towards the cabinets with the large variety of ingredients visible. "What would you like to make?" He asked because he didn't mind cooking anything in particular, and he didn't want to upset the other by cooking something he didn't want to cook. |

Lysander smiled slightly at Masato, moving behind the station. "I'm Lysander, class 4-B. As for what I want to make...Hard to say. With all these ingredients, we could make practically anything. What kind of food do you prefer making? We can play to our strengths." he replied. Lysander was glad he was pretty good at cooking. One of his servants wasn't exactly...well...Most of her food has Mystery Food X potential. So, Lysander did most of his own cooking, learning from books and cooking shows and occasionally a tutor. "I usually do seafood and vegetable dishes, and I'm okay with desserts too. Most of the stuff I cook is either French or Italian dishes, though." he added. He was contemplative for a moment, looking around the room. He was curious if there was any fresh fish here...If there was, he could probably whip up something to knock the teacher's socks off. Plus...he maybe felt like impressing Masato with his own skills. |

"I can make a lot of Asian dishes. I don't really specialize in anything so...I could make dessert and help you when I'm done," Said Masato. A little farther away, some girls could be seen opening a refrigerator that was filled with different kinds of fish. Meanwhile, the teacher was going around the classroom with a cheerful expression. She was asking the different groups what they were planning to make. Some said chicken, others said cake, and the boy hoped he misheard one of the answers as salad...She then came to Lysander and Masato's station. "What do you two plan on making?" She asked. "I'm going to make...dango," Said the brown haired boy, coming up with the first thing that came to mind. "And you?" She asked Lysander afterwards. |

Lysander nodded slightly as Masato spoke. Asian dishes, huh? Made sense. Masato was a Japanese name. He smiled. "Sounds good to me, Masato." he replied to the brunette. When the teacher came around, she asked what the two boys were going to make. Masato had spoken first, saying dango. Lysander was a bit confused, as he had no idea what it was and had never had it before. But, Masato wouldn't have said he'd make it if he wasn't good at it. So, Lysander put his faith in the brown-haired boy. The teacher turned to Lysander and asked what he was going to make. He was quiet for a moment, looking around the room as he eyed the wide variety of ingredients before he smiled. "I'll be making...cognac shrimp with beurre blanc sauce. Provided you will allow me to use the two different types of alcohol. I'm hopeful that there is a dry white wine, and some cognac as well?" he said, a somewhat confident smirk on his face. The teacher looked a bit surprised before smiling slightly. "We have both in the cabinet. Just don't use it all." she replied. "As you wish." the blonde said. |

Once both of them had told the teacher what they planned to make, Masato went to the cabinet and searched for the ingredients he would need. After a few seconds of searching, he finally managed to find a bag of kinako and a bag of black sesame seeds. He took out both bags and placed them onto the table. Afterwards, got a bag of sugar and got a few spoons. He put two tablespoons of kinako into a bowl and mixed it with one and a half tablespoons of sugar. He continued to mix until the powder looked nice and soft. Next, he put the same amount of black sesame seeds into another bowl with the same amount of sugar into a bowl and started to grind it. The teacher, done with questioning the dishes other students were making, started to play music from her computer which was heard from the powerful speakers beside it. It sounded quite cheerful, and it had fit quite wonderfully for the current period of time. Every so often, Masato would look towards Lysander to see how his dish was coming along. Lysander took his time to gather the ingredients he needed. Shallots, a dry white wine, lemon juice, heavy cream, butter, white pepper, plenty of shrimp, salt, and the cognac. Getting the necessary tools, he got to work. Working swiftly with two different knives, he chopped the shallots and deveined the shrimp, adding the shallots, white wine, and lemon juice into one saucepan. In a nearby skillet, he put in about 5 tablespoons of butter, letting it melt while he worked on the beurre blanc sauce. He would have to leave the shallots alone for about 10 minutes, then lower the heat for about 2 minutes. He was hard at work and focused...but, of course he was still a man. He did take the occasional glance at Masato, just to make sure he was doing okay. "How's your stuff coming, Masato?" he asked. |

Once the sesame topping was finished, Masato took out a bag of rice flour and went to the nearby fridge to look for some tofu. When he walked towards the fridge, he could hear Lysander asking how his dish was coming along. "It's coming along well. How's yours?" He asked as he opened the refrigerator and took out the silken tofu. Masato brought it back to his table and put on a pair of nearby latex gloves. The brown haired boy dumped some rice flour into a bowl and put in the tofu with it. He then started to mix it with his latex protected hand until it became a fine dough. The boy then went to fill a pot with some hot water and put it onto the stove, waiting until the water came to a boil. "Is there anything you need help with?" He asked the blonde. |

Lysander smiled slightly, still working on his dish as he added the cream to the shallot mixture and letting that simmer while he returned his attention to the deveined shrimp, placing them in the skillet with the remaining ingredients, minus the cognac. When Masato spoke, the blonde looked up from the skillet, a smile on his face. "Mine's coming along fine. It isn't a very complicated dish, so it's hard to mess up. Well, I'm sort of wrong on that one. I'll only mess up if I screw with the cognac. I'm more tempted to drink it than use it. But I don't think drunk cooking is allowed. Not sure if it's illegal, but I'm pretty sure it's frowned upon." he replied to the brunette, checking on the beurre blanc sauce he was working on. Good, it was nearly done. It was going to need to simmer for a little bit though. "You think we get to eat what we make, or do we have to eat someone else's stuff? I'm sure yours is fine, but...I don't exactly trust the rest of the people cooking in here." he added. He could clearly see two girls having issues with making a cake, and...How the HELL did a guy manage to set a SALAD on fire?! The boy was now being scolded by the teacher as she dumped the salad into the sink and turning on the water. "Ya know...never seen a salad get set on fire. How do you think that happened?" he asked, looking at Masato. |

As Lysander told Masato about his dish, the boy could smell the scent of it in the air. From the smell, it looked as thought the meal was definitely going to be quite appetizing. Masato was shaping the dough into small spheres until he could smell something burning in the air. He looked up and saw the girls the blonde was talking about. Why was a salad...on fire? Masato just stood in place, starring at the situation. "How did they....?" The boy questioned himself, a look of confusion covering his face. It took him a few seconds to get over the situation and continue making the dough into little spheres. "Maybe they're using a recipe we've never heard about...?" Masato replied in a confused tone. |

Lysander chuckled a bit, looking at the boy who got in trouble for setting a salad on fire. "It's either a new recipe or he's a fucking moron." he replied. With a quick check of his dish, he smiled slightly. The beurre blanc was nearly ready, and the shrimp smelled amazing. Yeah, they were ready for the cognac. He had selected a cognac based on the rest of the ingredients, a rather old cognac made by Rémy Martin. He was slow to add it, making sure there was no burst of flame. Good...good...nice and slow...Perfect! He just had to let it sit for a moment, and then it would be done. He looked over at Masato's work, admiring it. Masato was pretty good...here's hoping it tasted good. He shivered slightly, thinking of the Mystery Food X probably waiting for him at home. "Think the teacher would let me take this home? I'd rather not eat whatever poison Rose has waiting for me...Felt bad for giving it to Tobias." he said, looking up at Masato's face. |

Masato felt a little sorry for the boy that was being scolded by the teacher, but he had to continue on with his dish. He placed the balls of dough into the boiling water and went to get soy sauce and mirin. He put an equal amount of those two ingredients and sugar into a small pot and started to cook it over the stove. He made sure to adjust the distance from the pot to the stove in order to prevent the sauce he was making to burn. While he was cooking the sauce, the blonde had asked Masato if he thought he would be allowed to take his food home. "She might let us take our food home since," Said the martial artist. He then realized the boy had talked about people known as "Rose" and "Tobias". Were they family members of his? Even though he didn't know them, Masato decided not to be nosy and continued to look after the sauce he was making and the dango balls in the boiling water. It wouldn't be too long until he dessert would be complete! |

Lysander checked the shrimp and smiled a bit. Yep, there were pretty much done! And the sauce was just about done too. Snagging a plate from nearby, the blonde dumped the shrimp onto the plate, smiling a bit as he turned off the burner. With a quick stir for the beurre blanc sauce, he deemed it good to go. So, shutting off the heat for that as well, he poured the sauce over the shrimp, taking a tentative sniff of the dish. It smelled amazing, probably one of his best dishes yet. He looked over to Masato when he heard the brunette speak and smiled slightly. "Well, here's hoping. I'd rather not get poisoned..." he said, shaking his head slightly. With a wave of his hand, he beckoned the teacher over. "Finished your dish, Mr. Walker?" she asked, looking at the plate Lysander had prepared. "Yes ma'am. Please, feel free to try it yourself. I'm sure you will enjoy it." the blonde replied. With a slight nod from the teacher, she grabbed a fork and took a shrimp, taking a bite. Her eyes widened slightly, and she smiled. "Excellent work, Mr. Walker. It tastes divine." she said. Lysander smiled, and he managed to restrain a smirk when he saw the teacher's cheeks darken with a slight blush. Looks like he was having 'that' effect on her. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, ma'am. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do." he said, smiling. |

From how it sounded, Lysander had finished his dish. It definitely looked better than some of the other dishes that the students made. When Masato turned his head away from the teacher and the blonde, he noticed that the dango balls were floating on top of the water. Yes! That meant they were done and were ready to add the toppings. The brown haired male filled a bowl with cool water and placed the balls into there. Giving them a few seconds to cool, he went to get a tray for them as well as some skewers. "These came out well," The boy said to himself, carefully placing four dango balls on a single skewer. Once he had around 6 sets of skewers, he started to put the toppings on them. Masato covered two of them with the black sesame powder, two of them in the kinako powder, and covered the two leftover with the sauce he made a few minutes ago. When all of the skewered dango were on the tray, the teacher came to him. "Are you done, Mr.Fukuda?" She asked with a smile on her face. The boy nodded silently, the teacher's smile getting bigger. "Would it be alright for me to try one?" She questioned. "Yes," Replied Masato, watching her pick up one of the sauce covered dango and taking a bite. "Mmmm!" She sounded. "These are good." "Thank you," Said Masato. |
