Elijah's eyes focused upon his current piece, charcoal art. Though in only the beginning stages, his concentration was practically indestructible. The entire school and all of it's student could vanish and he probably would have been none the wiser. The swipes he made with the vine charcoal were quick with little pause in between. Although hard to see in it's roughest stages, Eli already knew what he wished to do with his piece. With each stroke the image became more clear, a woman from behind as she twisted he body, reaching out towards the viewer. Cloth and hair were drawn in an almost haphazard fashion at first, but it created a feeling of wind, of energy. Realism with an impressionistic touch. He paused to observe the early stages of his work, critiquing his creation. It wasn't perfect, nothing is for that matter, but he wished to improve it as best as he could. He focused on anatomy, honed in on the wrinkles of the cloth as he tried to find imperfections that which he could fix. But it was getting harder to observe closely with all of the loose charcoal that rested itself over top of the piece. With one quick blow, a puff of black dust flew off the page, granting instant clarity. But it seemed he wasn't really looking in the direction he did such, he nearly hit someone with his cloud of charcoal. He looked up quickly, making sure he caused no harm. He saw a boy, a boy with long blond hair and bright, blue eyes. Elijah couldn't help but feel... something. After a moment of eyeing the situation, he finally spoke, "My apologies, I hope I didn't harm anything. I was too focused to realize>" he said with a nervous chuckle that clung to the end of his sentence. He hoped all was well, he would feel terrible if he had hurt the boy's feelings. |

Lysander sighed, staring at his canvas...which was currently completely blank. He had NO idea what to paint, and he was going insane. He had a bunch of ideas, but he couldn't paint any of them. He sighed, leaning back slightly...right as a cloud of black swarmed his vision. He coughed, waving his hand to get the cloud out of his face. He turned his head as he heard a male voice speak up, apologizing for the charcoal. Lysander had an insult right on the tip of his tongue, when he saw the boy's face. Well...hello handsome. Pale skin, short auburn hair with sideswept bangs, and violet- no, more like a pale blue- eyes. He was skinny, but not anorexic-looking. Definitely attractive. And artistic, too. He managed a brief glimpse at the boy's picture, and it was definitely impressive. A woman in charcoal, reaching out to the viewer. A beautiful piece of art, both the picture AND the artist. "It's fine. No harm, no foul. I haven't even touched the canvas yet, so nothing to ruin. Impressive picture. Windswept, delicate, and definitely a wonderful work." he said, smiling slightly. |

A subtle sigh of relief emitted itself from Eli's lips when the boy said no harm was done. He glanced to his work when the boy had pointed it out, complimented it even. Eli wasn't very used to praise, so it was a little awkward, but still appreciated. "Oh thank you," he said unsure of just what he could say. "I'm still pretty new when it comes to charcoal." He paused for a moment, he wasn't sure if it was just him but he could have sworn he caught a... look in the other boy's eyes. Eli tried to tell himself he was just projecting, but couldn't help but hope it was what he thought. He decided an introduction was due, "I'm Elijah, but you can just call me Eli." he was so close to extending his hand for a handshake, until he realized that his hands were blackened with charcoal. He tried to laugh it off, "Well I would shake your hand, but I have charcoal all over my hands." Upon saying such he got up to wash his hands at a sink that was right next to the two of them. Luckily he hadn't even touched the compressed charcoal yet; unlike vine charcoal, compressed doesn't come off very well. "So have you been at Ravencroft for a while?" he asked trying to keep conversation with the boy. His back was turned away from the boy, but he could comfortably turn his head to see the boy in his peripherals. |

Lysander chuckled slightly as the boy- Elijah, a rather nice name- introduced himself, nearly shaking the blonde's hand before Elijah realized his hand was covered in charcoal. As Elijah rose to go wash his hands, Lysander managed to discretely check out the brunette's behind. Yep...he liked what he saw. "I'm Lysander. Most people call me Lys." he replied. Turning his attention the canvas before him for a moment, he tried to think of something, twirling a paintbrush around a slim finger. He needed inspiration...Hmm...perhaps Eli could help in that area? Ah, no, no sex in school, that was a rule here... Well, rules were meant to be broken... "I just transferred here, actually. Came from a school further north. Dad decided to send me here, since this school has an amazing reputation. Well, the sparkling reputation probably got a big splash of paint when the body got found on campus though." he said, glancing up at Elijah. Of course, Lysander wouldn't go into detail about WHY he had transferred. So he had broken a rule and slept with a teacher...For the record- SHE came to HIM. |

Elijah listened to the boy's words as he dried his hands with a paper towel, leaning against the counter. It seemed he wasn't the only new kid here as he had originally assumed. "I am new here as well. There is a small town just south of here." His words seemed to exhibit a sense of indifference. He never really cared for the town, or the people who called it home. Frankly he was glad to be one of the lucky few who managed to escape that trap of a town. But he had little choice, it wasn't like it's residents -or even his family for that matter- would accept him for who he was. But he forced his thoughts to focus on the present, the murders that have been occurring had hit the news, and talk of it seemed to penetrate every aspect of Rockport. School was no acceptation. "Yeah, it is rather odd. I wasn't here for the first incident, but I could imagine it came as a shock." His words were a clear understatement, but the empathy was more than evident in his tone, if not anything else. He wasn't exactly worried that he will be the next victim, his thoughts were too occupied with the victim's that had occurred and their families. Eli decided that dwelling on such will not make anyone feel better, some students who were glancing over looked... uncomfortable with such discussion. "So Lys, any plans for the canvas your working with?" It was currently blank, and luckily enough free of the charcoal that rained upon it. Just about anything could become of it, and Eli was curious as to how Lys will proceed. |

Lysander smiled slightly as Elijah spoke. He was somewhat multi-tasking: both paying attention to the brunette's words and also paying attention to the brunette's rather attractive mouth moving. He was enjoying chatting with this boy...Ah, he asked him a question. Better answer him. "To be totally honest, Eli, I have no fricking clue what I'm doing with this. I have a bunch of ideas, but I don't know what to go with. Besides, I've been working with ink and skin mostly lately. Working with canvas is a bit of a change-up." he replied. Sighing slightly, he spun a paintbrush around a slim finger, gazing at the blank canvas with a look akin to annoyance. He was getting ready to throw the canvas out a window, but he wasn't going to do that. He knew better than to waste materials. But...what to paint? For a brief moment, Lysander glanced up at Elijah for a moment. Hmmm... Now THAT could work. "On second thought...I think I know what to paint now. I just needed a little bit of inspiration." he added, a slight smirk on his face. |

He heard subtle music playing from the teacher's computer as she quietly filled out paperwork, paying no mind to the students. It was subtle, almost becoming ambiance with the rest of the quiet chatter as the others worked on miscellaneous projects.Eli gazed that the canvas with the boy, understanding his frustration. He too has endured lapses in his creativity as well. They are particularly annoying when you have the drive to create something. He hoped he could provide inspiration of some sort, but wasn't quite sure how. Lys turned his attention to Eli with a smirk forming across his face, claiming he has just got a bit of inspiration. Elijah raised an eyebrow in confusion, wondering what the boy had meant by his words. But then it hit him, he wishes to do a portrait, it seemed. But he decided it was best to play dumb. "So what do you have in mind?" he asked as his eyes glanced to the canvas and back to Lys. for some reason he felt like there was more to it. As if Lys wished to draw Eli in the very same manner they said in the movie Titanic; Like of of his French Girls. He wondered what kind of consequences would become of talking to such a boy. His parents words still rung in his ears. He wanted to be himself, he wanted to be happy, but it seemed like Eli always has managed to find reasons that he could give himself in favor of the contrary. |

Lysander continued twirling the paintbrush around his finger as he looked at Eli. He wouldn't deny that Eli was attractive and would make a good model for a portrait. The problem was...most of Lysander's portraits turned out a bit more 'risque' than what the teacher would deem appropriate for school. "I was thinking a portrait, but I tend to make myself look a bit too...princey, in self portraits. So, I figure a portrait of someone else would be a good idea. But...I kind of have a bad habit when I do a portrait of someone. I tend to...what's a good way to put it...Well, to be blunt- When I do portraits of other people, it turns out like the cover of a trashy romance novel." he explained. Trashy romance novel cover...yeah, that sounded about right. "And the ones that don't turn out like trashy romance novel covers usually turn out really well. Well, considering my line of work, they kinda have to. I am an artist after all." he added, still playing with the paintbrush. Hmmm...good idea or bad idea to ask Elijah to model...It was sounding like a good idea in the blonde's head, but he was unsure what the rather attractive brunette would think of the suggestion. |

Eli nodded, realizing that he was in fact correct. He wasn't sure just what would be asked of him if he did in fact agree to the request. How would he be asked to pose? Would any clothing... have to be removed? He felt a little uncomfortable about the idea, but he knew they were at school, so how bad could it really get. "Well I suppose I can help you out, if you want." He said hoping he won't come to regret his words. He kind of felt like he owed the boy for what he has done earlier; the cloud of charcoal. "What is it you need me to do?" He looked around for a suitable spot for them to continue. There was a plethora of spots for people to create still-lives of various objects as well as open spots with stools for drawing people. Luckily for them there was an open spot right in front of where Lys was. A suitable spot for just about anything really. Elijah's eyes glanced throughout the room. He heard the subtle shuffling of pages coming from the teacher's desk, she was oblivious to the students who were working. The song on the radio switched to one that was a little bit more atmospheric than the last. He didn't recognize the artist, but she had a very nice voice. A few students were still preoccupied by gossip to draw anything, occasionally glancing their way before continuing. He wonder just what they were talking about. He had good hearing, but they managed to lower their voice to barely a mumble. Although the specific's were difficult to pinpoint, the subject was obvious enough; they were talking about them. |

Lysander smiled when Eli spoke, stopping his twirling of the paintbrush. "Really? Thanks, Eli, I really appreciate it. As for what I need you to do...Hmmm..." he replied, glancing at the canvas once more. How should Eli pose...? He noticed that Eli seemed slightly distracted, and glanced over at the people who seemed to be gossiping. Ah, had they gotten some strange idea in their heads? Oh, wait...these people probably knew who Lysander was. Did Eli not know? Well, he didn't say his last name in his introduction, so the brunette probably didn't realize he was talking to the son of a senator. Lysander shrugged a bit, shaking his head. "Ignore the gossipers, Eli. They're wasting their own time with idle chit-chat when there's art to be made. As for how to pose...just be yourself and relax. Don't worry, I'm not gonna make you do anything weird." he added. Making sure he had all the paint he needed, Lysander tightened the hair-tie in his hair and smirked slightly. He was ready to go. He just needed Eli to pose and then he'd get started. |

Elijah smiled slightly when Lys accepted his offer. Now that that much was out of the way, the next step was determining how he should pose. Eli looked at the canvas with Lys, wondering what would make a good composition. It seemed Lys noticed Eli's distraction. The gossipers from across the room, they couldn't have made it more obvious that they were the subject matter in their discussion. Lys told Eli to ignore them, which he did although the giddy laughter they emitted was hard to tune out of his mind. He took a deep breath as he walked up to a stool, and sat down on it. He rested on foot on the stool's frame itself while the other one relaxed on the floor. His forearms rested on his legs as he leaned forward ever so slightly. It was a natural pose, simple without creating an uninteresting layout. Minimalism has it's perks at times. He looked at Lys, hoping he proved himself to be a good enough model "Any suggestions?" he said sounding a little self conscious. He was putting himself in a position that required him to be observed really closely. The thought of having ever single shape of your body analyzed was a little bit nerve-racking. |

As Lysander prepared his paints and brushes for the portrait he was about to paint, he turned to attention to Eli to see what pose the brunette would go with. Hm...pretty natural, rather simple. "Hmmm...keep your chin up, okay? The light on your face looks good. And try smiling." he suggested. Mixing a few paints together, he took a quick glance at Eli and smiled at the dark-haired boy slightly. This painting HAD to turn out well, with such a handsome model. "I'm not going to be a dick like some artists I know and make you not move or not talk throughout the whole thing. Once I get the major stuff done, you can move around a bit. That alright?" he added. |

Eli raised his chin in response to Lys' suggestion. Eli took this moment as an opportunity to study the boy who was drawing him. For the most part he tried to avoid excessive amounts of eye contact. He didn't quite know how to react around boys, especially those he found attractive. He studied the boy's features in a manner that he hoped wasn't obvious. His piercing, ice blue eyes caught his attention first; which was soon after followed by the golden hair that framed his features. If Elijah was given the opportunity, he wouldn't mind drawing Lys. Lys said that after a certain point, Eli would be free to move. "Alright, thanks." He smiled slightly, but didn't move a muscle. Eli decided to continue their conversation as Lys was painting. "So I remember you said that you are used to drawing on 'skin and ink'. Do you make tattoos?" There was an evident level of interest in his voice. Personally, Eli liked tattoos when they were well drawn. There was something about putting something that is meaningful to you on your body in a way that is more or less permanent. |

Lysander smiled at Eli as he started to paint, mainly keeping his eyes on the canvas. Occasionally, he would glance up at the brunette, smile slightly, and continue to paint. "Mind keeping that smile on for me? It suits you better than a neutral expression." he asked. The blonde kept working on the painting, glancing up when Eli asked him if Lys did tattoos. "Yeah, I do. Well, I'm learning. I'm an apprentice down at Rock Solid Ink. I've been an apprentice there for a little while. I've only done some of the smaller tattoos so far, occasionally a full sleeve. I've done more tramp stamps than I would've wanted, but I'm getting paid a good amount of money for what I do, and I enjoy it." he explained. He noticed that Eli was avoiding a large amount of eye contact and chuckled slightly, smiling at the brunette once more. "Relax, Eli. I'm not gonna bite you. Well...not yet." he said. |

Elijah's grin expended slightly in response to the compliment. The boy focused on the canvas before him, concentrating on his artwork. Eli watched the way he dipped paint, and covered the service of the canvas with his paint. Although he couldn't see the piece itself, there was a certain way he moved, a certain way he carried himself as he painted, he seemed to be very skilled. He confirmed Eli's question about tattooing. Perhaps it helped his for as he painted, beside the change in medium and tools, it is still fairly similar. Both of them require a steady hand. Elijah tried not to nod as the boy listed the various tattoo types although he couldn't help but to grin a bit more, like the compliment beforehand, upon the mention of the tramp stamps he had to make. But all in all, he seemed to like what he did; and as far as Eli was concerned, that was all that matters. "That's good, it's unfortunate how rare it is to like your job. I work as a barista at the coffee shop in West Rockport. I have no complaints personally, since I am paying to be here." He stopped himself there, something was holding him back from going into why he was paying, much less why he was here in the first place. His palms were sweatier that he would have cared to admit. Lys must have noticed his discomfort, because he told him to relax. But his eyes widened just a little when he had a follow up comment. "Is he... hitting on me?" he wasn't sure what to say, what to think. So he just stayed quiet, nodded in response to his need to relax. He hoped he didn't look like a deer in the headlights in the eyes of Lys. |
