Jenny seemed to be thinking hard after Isaac's last comment. Did he say something wrong...? Hopefully he didn't step on any toes with anything he said, though he couldn't quite think of what could make her think like that. She let out a short sigh and said "Did somethin' bad happen last festival?". Isaac was a bit relieved that it wasn't really anything he did. However... it seems that he'd be talking about it no matter what. "Well that's..." he said before pausing for a bit and looking down a few times. Scratching the back of his head, he wondered the best way he could say this. After a short sigh, he said "Well it was at the opening ceremony for the school about a month or two back. At the fireworks display at the event, there was a... dead body.". He cringed a bit a the mention of the dead body but continued, "It was all quite... gruesome. I don't know what could drive anyone to do such a thing, but hopefully it won't happen again." Recalling that event had more or less made any happiness on his face disappear, his expression noticeably gloomier than before. Though... why didn't she know about it? It was all over the news shortly after the incident... "I don't remember seeing you at the ceremony though... Why's that?" he said, a curious tone getting into his voice. Not that he was suspicious but the thought of something like a murder had given him a short spot of paranoia. |

"Th... That's horrible." Jenny's voice rang with a mixture of disdain and anger at the revelation that a dead body was found during one of the school's festivals. She'd done thorough research before coming here, and she had never come across any gruesome reports of any sort of foul play sounding incidents, especially on school grounds. Her reply fired off so fast that it was even over Isaac's question which she very well heard, but glossed over as her mind ran rampant at the thought of some murderous deviant somewhere in the city. The polarity of her moral compass wouldn't let information like that just go with a "too bad, so sad" mentality. Jenny was angry, and she would be for a while before that fire would die down. The concerned look on her face faded and was replaced with a furrowed brow and a gleam of heated hatred shining in her eyes for whoever committed the crime. But then she remembered Isaac asked why he didn't see her at the festival. It brought her out of her angry state some as her eyes returned to normal, her brow became relaxed. Jenny had to take a moment to compose herself before answering, lest she freak him out with a fiery tone in her voice. Inhale. Exhale. She felt better, enough to answer his question. "I've only been going here for a week or so, and I've only been living in the dorm for a few days. I had to stay at a hotel until they cleaned out the dorm room they wanted me to have." Oh hell! What if the dorm room belonged to the victim? The mind of Jenny Halberd ran rampant with the thought of a spirit hanging around, and the wards she'd have to create to have the spirit pass on; there was work to be done when she got home later that afternoon, that was for certain. Of course, she couldn't be certain that was the case. "Was the victim a student?" This would be the best way to calm herself. As long as Isaac said, "No.", then she had nothing to worry about. If his answer was yes, she had some more questions for him. All in due time, she had to remind herself. All in due time. |

"Th... That's horrible." Jenny said, this time far less happiness in her voice. In fact, there may have even been some anger there. She took some time to take a few deep breaths. Isaac didn't know she'd take it like this... "I've only been going here for a week or so, and I've only been living in the dorm for a few days. I had to stay at a hotel until they cleaned out the dorm room they wanted me to have." she said, a bit more calm and composed this time. "Ah, I see..." Isaac said. He shook his head for a moment, there's no way this girl had anything to do with it. No, stop thinking such stupid thoughts... "Was the victim a student?" Jenny said, snapping Isaac out of his thoughts. The victim... Not much information was revealed to the public by the police, if any was revealed at all. He was there though, so perhaps it wouldn't be impossible to recall from memory... Closing his eyes, he tried to remember the gruesome sight he saw that day. He cringed a little upon just trying though eventually he was able to get an image of the scene from the festival. The victim... he wasn't able to tell much, he wasn't even able to tell if it was a guy or a girl but one thing was for certain; Whoever they were, they wore a bloodstained Ravencroft uniform. Which means that the victim was indeed a student. "...Yeah. It was a student." Isaac said a little reluctantly. The talk of murders was certainly unsettling him to say the least. How much longer was this subject going to last? |

Rage. Rage was filling her stomach like smoke fills the sky during a forest fire. The fact that someone her age had been brought to an end on what was supposed to be a happy occasion made her stomach turn. She did well at keeping those feelings locked inside; her chest heaved with a deep breath and her face bore no emotion - if she were to express herself, there would be a lot of yelling, cursing, and all-around anger emerging like bubbling crude. It took her a while to process what she had been told and did so with breaths similar to her first, but with less severity. "It sucks." Jenny muttered in a flat tone. Grief like this always made her heart heavy, and would certainly explain some of the feelings she was having around campus. There were certain areas that made her feel uncomfortable, as if something couldn't accept - or didn't know - that it was time to just move on. No, she couldn't share that information with Isaac, at least not yet. She shook the thought from her head, an action that may be perceived as Jenny denying any creeping thoughts about the situation Isaac had explained. "Would explain some of the feelings I've been having, though..." She muttered out loud, repeating her thoughts aloud as if to confirm them, but she did so accidentally. Her eyes grew wide and her breath drew in as a gasp. Oh no! Now he was going to think she was off her rocker. Jenny's attention redirected from Isaac as she spoke to her feet with her lips tucked into her mouth. Though she had explicitly thought about not revealing information like that, it seemed like divine powers decided otherwise on her behalf. |
