It was cold outside. To be expected, it was getting closer and closer to winter in the city of Rockport. And Ravencroft High, in all it's glory, was... Boring. At least, that's how one student would describe it. And that student was currently laying on the roof and staring at the sky, smoking a cigarette as his mind wandered. He had black hair, left loose and rather messily reaching his shoulders, and pale skin. He wore the school's uniform, although he seemed to have lost the tie somewhere and left the shirt partially open, revealing something written in curling black script on his chest over his heart, as well as using the jacket to protect his back from the cold roof. He briefly closed his eyes to enjoy the cold wind blowing, trying to relax. This boy was Luca Fiore, recent transfer from a school in a different country- Germany, to be precise. He yawned, mumbling something under his breath in Italian as the boy stared at the sky. He also had a black bag with him that he was currently using for a pillow. "Still have time until class ends...maybe I'll skip the next class, too." Reaching behind his head to dig into his bag, he pulled out an apple and started tossing it up into the air, catching it in one hand, and repeating the cycle. Damn, he was BORED... |

With a loud bang, the door to the rooftop burst open, hit the wall and bounced back a little. Cathy gave it another kick just to hear the satisfying noise again. Her pretty face was distorted into a gloomy scowl and her shoulders were pulled up, giving her the appearance of an animal on the hunt. "Fucking Hell!" she exclaimed to herself. "They should be glad I just leave class and not punch that bitch in the face!" Deep in thought the girl stalked to the small maintenance shack on top of the roof without looking left or right, her heeled boots clacking angrily on the ground. She was furious and needed to vent, and there was only one thing that calmed her when she was like this. In a flourish, Cathy jumped and pulled herself up to the shack, swung her legs up in the air and concentrated to get the right stance for her handstand. Holding the position a few seconds, she then slowly, carefully let down her legs backwards and bent her body to come to stand again. Her short parka rode up and the cold autumn air hitting her midriff made her shiver a little. But she´d get warm soon enough. The girl leaned into a stretch, thankful for her tight but flexible pants. That was exactly the reason she wore them, anything else would hinder her body movement too much. It was a pleasant side effect that they showed off her body really well too. The feeling of straining her muscles and bending her body to the maximum, going a little further every time, pleased her immensely. All these stupid, boring classes just kept her from having fun, caged her inside the building and forced her to sit still. Sitting still was not a thing Cathy was very good at. "Man how I wish something interesting would happen in this hellhole for once!" she spat absent mindedly while lowering into a new position, her palms touching the ground. |

His silent musing was interrupted by a rather loud banging sound, which was quickly repeated. Grumbling, the dark-haired boy opened his eyes, revealing them to be a pale shade of green with a yellow ring around his pupils. He sat up, scratching the back of his head as he listened for the cause of the sound. Female voice, angry. Heeled shoes...judging from the density of the sound, they were boots. The steps were getting louder...she was getting closer to him. He sighed, glancing around from his spot behind the maintenance shack and spotted a girl on top of said shack. She seemed to be...stretching? And she wouldn't stop talking...He sighed, shaking his head slightly and removing the cigarette from his mouth. "Hey, some of us come up here to sleep! You wanna stretch like that, ragazza, go to the gym or something." Taking a brief puff on his cigarette, he laid back down on the roof, blowing the smoke into the sky. "Besides, yelling up here is the easiest way to get caught. Not exactly smart to yell where anyone with good ears can hear you. Rumoroso ragazza... [Translation: ragzza= girl. Rumoroso= noisy] |

Cathy stopped short in her excercise and turned to look down at whomever was talking. The black haired guy seemed to be older than her, but she hadn´t seen him around yet. Another skipper, what a surprise! Obviously, he was here for peace and quiet, while she was here to vent out her anger. How ironic. His words were true, she didn´t want to attract a teachers attention, but the way he delivered them made her scoff. Not gonna let that tone slide so easily man. And the smoke of that damned cigarette! "Gym´s full with sweaty seniors playing soccer. I prefer fresh air." was her reply. In a quick movement she jumped down, her heels clacking loudly again. Hands at her hips she walked to the boy, bent down and plucked the offending stick out of his mouth. She threw it to the ground and crushed it. "I´ll be quiet and let you sleep, and you don´t pollute the air I breathe. Neither gets caught. Deal?" A sly, somewhat aggresssive smile played on her lips as if she challenged him to a reaction. |

Observing the girl for a minute, Luca simply shook his head. Well, she seemed fiery. But a bit too noisy. And angry. Definitely way too angry. Wait... Did she just... That bitch. She took his cigarette and stomped it out. "Ragazza, if you're trying to piss me off, you're failing." With a smirk of his own, the boy reached into his bag and felt around before withdrawing a single cigarette from the box hidden within, pulling his lighter out of his pocket at the same time. Lighting the cigarette and returning the lighter to it's place in his pocket, Luca took a deep drag on the cigarette before smirking as he sat up and blew some smoke into her face. Laying back down on the roof, he closed his eyes. "I didn't come here to sleep, ragazza. I came here to avoid people. You stretch to relax, and I smoke to relax. Unless you'd be willing to do one of the other things that helps me relax, then I'll put the cigarette out. Though..." Opening one eye, Luca looked the girl over before shaking his head. "You're too young for my tastes." |

Cathy took a step back and turned her head away in disgust. That little... First he says sleeping, then he says smoking, then what now? The girl couldn´t understand why someone willingly destroyed their body like that, which was of course a hypocrisy considering the amounts of liquor she had tasted at her precious age of 16... But yeah, in her world, smoking was a different matter entirely. She was about to spat something like that in response, but his next words caught her offguard. That... was a low blow. For a moment she didn´t know what to say to that, but quickly enough she recovered and her eyes squinted into a dangerous glare. "Hold your horses, Romeo, whoever said I´d even do something like that?" Her words were casual, but her brain seemed to have different objectives from her conscious self. She found herself subtly checking out the boy - damn him, if he hadn´t said anything she wouldn´t even have gotten the thought! And he even was pretty handsome too, with that long hair and, was that a piercing? Definitely her type. Cathy felt awkward and looked to the side to hide her face. She wasn´t blushing, but she really didn´t want to appear like she was staring. "Bet you can´t even kiss properly, not with that stinky mouth! No smoker could kiss good enough to even out the taste." Her stance became more aggressive again as she turned back to him and crossed her arms in a defiant gesture. This battle wasn´t over yet. |

Luca smirked at how the girl reacted. She was obviously surprised by what he said, that was for sure. And he managed to catch her eyeing him. He wasn't surprised. He had seen a few other girls doing it throughout the day. As she looked away, Luca smirked once more. Maybe now she'd leave him alone. ...Nope. She was challenging him? Seriously? Alright, little girl...she was playing with the big boys now. His smirk was now turning into a devious grin as Luca slowly got to his feet, his grin growing slightly as he realized he was quite a bit taller than she was. Six feet, two inches, and all of it was feeling rather cocky. "Tell me, bambina...you ever had a good kiss?" [Translation: bambina = little girl] Removing the cigarette from his mouth, he blew some smoke up towards the sky before locking his gaze with hers. "I'm not talking about some stupid, spin the bottle kiss. No kiss you give your folks on the cheek. A full on, no holds barred, REAL kiss." Luca smirked. "Or are you just some innocent little flower that acts tough but has the heart of a maiden? |

The boy got up and within moments towered over her. That was... not bad. Certainly, not bad at all. Cathy bit the inside of her cheek to stifle the satisfied grin that was reminiscent of a cat that got what it wanted. She didn´t back off, instead lifted her chin up to meet his eyes and shifted her weight to the side. Her warm brown eyes met his interesting green ones and Cathy liked the tension the look created between them. The cool wind on the rooftop picked up and tousled her hair. "If you want to 'educate' an innocent flower, I can play it coy just fine." she replied, shrugging. Heart of a Maiden? He surely was poetic beneath that rough exterior. She should be offended by the assumption, but she was interested in the game and was not going to ruin the chance. Curiosity killed the cat, right? But cats have nine lives, so to hell with it. "Or would you rather have me surprise you~?" She licked her lips, looked up at the boy and waited. She couldn´t make the first move, it was his call what happened next. Cathy was confident. But the real question was: Would he chicken? |

Luca smirked slightly, observing the girl before him. Yeah...she was DEFINITELY enjoying this. And playing right into his hands. "You wanna know what a good kiss is like? You have to take it slow. Keeping eye contact and breathing deeply." Smirking slightly, he cupped her chin in his palm and moved his face closer to her's slowly, keeping his gaze locked with hers. "You move in closer and closer...until..." His lips were just centimeters away from hers. Luca could feel her breath washing over his skin. And, once more...he smirked before releasing her chin and turning around. "You stop and leave it." Stepping back from the girl before him, he brought his cigarette back to his lips, taking a short drag on it before removing it from his lips and expelling the smoke into the air. He smirked at the girl once more. She was going to be a bit pissed... |

Cathy followed his lead, but somehow that smirk was dangerous. Something was not right here. Still, she couldn´t help it, her heart quickened a little and her lips parted slightly, he was doing a damn fine job of initiating this. And then he let go. Cathy took a deep breath to regain her composure, which had slipped more than she had intended to, but then an airy laugh broke from her lips. The girl ran a hand through her hair and just laughed. That smug face of his, ahh. Precious! He didn´t even realize... "I win!" she managed to declare, though her face had a slightly pained expression. She quickly turned it into a mean smile, her eyes dismissive. What a wimp. She had expected a better outcome. In a way, she had lost as well, but in the end it was the challenge that counted. "Such a coward. Can´t even go through with something as trivial as that. My point stands if you´re not even willing to prove it. Now I wonder if you´re the one playing it tough?" With a last, disdainful and... somewhat hurt glance she turned around, her head held high and stalked off to the other side of the rooftop, a safe distance away from him. There was a small handrail there, high enough to allow some more gymnastics. She felt colder than before. |

She was laughing? And declaring that she won? The fuck was she talking about? ...Did she just call him a coward? SERIOUSLY? Luca chuckled slightly, shaking his head as he took a drag on his cigarette. "Silly little ragazza...This wasn't some game. No one wins, no one loses." She was walking away now. Hm...now that he thought about it, he didn't even know her name yet. Then again, she didn't know his. She was definitely upset, judging from that last glance she sent him. Her face had looked...pained when she claimed a victory that didn't exist. Getting an idea, he smirked as he tossed the cigarette over his shoulder and slowly walked up behind her, moving as quietly as he could. She had walked right to the handrail nearby. Perfect. Smirking once more, Luca grabbed the handrail, trapping the girl in one place between his arms. Setting his chin on her shoulder, he grinned. "Besides, ragazza...you're fun to tease." |

Not a game. What was it then? To her almost everything was a game of some sort, especially in such a case... And she was not a very good loser. So she simply didn´t acknowlegde that she´d lost. Well, she hadn´t anyway. Brooding, Cathy didn´t realize the boy was following her until she felt his body behind her. No, around her. Her skin bristled and she tensed up, he was radiating warmth that both made her feel good and uncomfortable at the same time. How dare he get so close?! "...is that supposed to be a compliment?", she asked icily, not moving an inch. His chin was placed on her shoulder and she flinched a little at the unexpected contact. What was he trying to do now?! Cathy ground her teeth and held back her irritation. If he was trying to make her angry it was working, but she would not give him the satisfaction of showing it. "Back off, Romeo, or I might have to hurt you." Her hands clenched around the railing, her whole body ready to spring. She did turn her head slightly now, her short hair grazing his cheek a little. Her shoulders hit his chest in the movement, and now Cathy really did get flustered slightly. To play over it she tried to muster up her anger again; Could the guy decide what he wanted already? Tease her about the kiss, then come so close so suddenly, it was frustrating! "And what´s that you´re calling me all the time?! My name is Cathy" she hissed quietly. |

Luca chuckled as he felt her tense up. Aw, that was too funny of a reaction. Too bad he was unable to see her face. And now she seemed rather angry. Threatening violence, too. He wasn't surprised. "Now now, ragazza, no need for violence." He smirked slightly as she turned her head to somewhat look at him. She really was a tiny little thing...And now he finally had a name to put to the face. Cathy, huh? He had kind of expected something more...fiery. "Don't know Italian, ragazza? It means 'girl'. I would've called you bambina, but I figured you'd hit me. As for me..." He smirked lightly before moving his head and just connecting their lips together. He broke the kiss after a moment and let go of the railing, turning back towards his bag and jacket. "My name's Luca." |

"Well, excuse me, italian is not exactly -" my forte. Cathy´s angry snarl was disrupted by the light touch of his lips on hers. It lasted just a moment, but it was enough to stupify the girl. She could taste the disgusting smoke in his breath, just like she´d predicted. His body left hers and the sudden loss of warmth made her shiver, and tremble in barely contained anger. She could practically hear the smirk in his voice. This... this... A few quick steps, her boots hitting the floor loudly, and she was in front of him. Without a word, eyes squinted dangerously, the girl let her hand fly and smacked Luca square over the cheek. There was venom in her stare, but also the hint of red on her cheeks. Damnit, she could be considered a flirt and a tease as well, but she had never been treated like this. Cathy was confused! This bastard. Her hand stung a little, she wasn´t used to violence. But the red mark on Lucas cheek was satisfying enough for her to ignore it. Cathy turned around again and stalked ahead, to the maintenance shack. She pulled herself up and sat down on the rim, letting her feet dangle over the edge. "...you got some booze in there too?" Cathy asked, nodding to Lucas belongings. Might as well skip class in company, right. |

Huh...Cathy definitely had a bit of a wild streak, that was for sure. Luca could feel the sting of the slap aching in his cheek, but he refrained from rubbing the injured spot. It didn't help, he knew that much from first hand experience. Shrugging slightly, he walked back over to his stuff, looking up when Cathy spoke once more. "Booze? Nah, I'd never be able to get it out of the house. Little sister is like a puppy- constantly following me around the house in the morning before school, after school, and whenever we're home at the same time. Gets a little annoying..." He decided against having another cigarette, instead he reached into his bag and pulled out his sketchbook and a pencil, flipping through to find a blank page. From Cathy's viewpoint, she might be able to get a glimpse of some of the sketches, which were mostly of people, small scenes of scenery, and occasionally some rather interesting sketches. A serpent curling around an apple, a fox chasing a butterfly, various tribal designs, and quite a few sketches of wolves. "Need some new ideas..." |
