The colours were muted and hazy, this damnable fog was thick enough to be cut out of the air. A young woman with flaxen hair her normal bright face and hair shined even in bad weather. But today her hair was a mess of curls and everywhere, some would call it elegantly curled but she never liked her hair like this, but she could care less. Her eyes were red from lack of sleep and stress of her time in the hospital. She was clenching at a phone, it says six missed calls, four from her father, and the rest were from Molly. She looked at it with disdain. She remember that talked she had with her father, and Molly. ------- "I've seen her!" Lyra remembered yelling at her father, he looked worried but also had to keep a strong front. "You didn't see her nor anyone!" Her father forced a yell he didn't sound that angry but neither worried he need to Lyra that what she seen wasn't real, but she knew fully well it was. "I did! I seen mom... she protected me from the monsters!" she hesitated but continued her side no matter how insane it sounded. "Lyra...What do you want me to say?" Her father spoken silently his voice not sure on what to say next. Lyra was puzzled, what does he mean, he continued. "That your passed away mother saved you from monsters?" He said sharply, Lyra didn't flinched. "Leone..." Molly finally spoken, Lyra always felt guilty for her, for having to raised the brat that was her. Leone stayed silent, he didn't anything, nor did anyone else. Lyra left in a huff, she was full of emotions, but none of them clouded her memories of that night, that horrible godforsaken night. The blood, the horror, the reaper like monster. The pain and fear. She will never forget it. The smell, the dreams, her mother. When she left the front door all she heard was Molly screaming after her to come back. ------- And now she near the lake like some kind of crazy loner. The phone ringed in her hands, she clenched at it tighter, her hand was getting sore and red from holding it so tight. her father was on the caller ID with a old picture of her, her mother, and him. Molly took the picture that time. they all looked so happy, this was before her mother got sick. The phone kept on ringing, her father was persistent. The longer she looked at the photo she was reminded how perfect they all were, but her. She lost, a sad little girl who only has her appearance that make her worth anything. She's a terrible friend, a terrible step-daughter, and a terrible person. As the phone stopped ringing, she couldn't stop her emotions from over spilling. She was worthless, hateful, shallow and a terrible person. Who could ever love this terrible person. Maybe even her own mother would hate her if she seen her to be like this. That final thought finally pushed her last barrier down, her tears were spilling onto the ground. She was sobbing, it was soft yet it carried all her regrets and grief. |

Which Witch is Which?

Claus had gotten a call that afternoon. From a woman named Molly, it seemed. A Molly Hart, even. Same last name as Lyra. She had said that she was Lyra's step mother, and they had gotten into a fight. Lyra had seemingly run off. Claus told the woman on the other end that he'd find her, then hung up, jamming his phone into his pocket. Scooping his keys off the countertop, the Blonde practically charged into his car, still throwing the warm pullover sweater on as he put the keys into the ignition of the orange Mini. Where had Lyra gone? He wondered to himself, tapping fingers on the steering wheel. A worried scowl was on his face as he started driving across the roads, attempting to call Lyra's cell as he drove. He always hated fights at home. It was probably similar to Lyra. Part of the welshman's stress was of the event at the hospital. That... Thing that had killed all those people. He blamed himself for all them, yes. But other people most certainly were stressed over the recent massacre. He finished tapping in the numbers for Lyra's phone, then carefully hitting the call button. He didn't wait for any answering machine to pick up, or anyone to respond. "Lyra." He said, a serious tone in his voice, but also slightly pained. "Where are you? I was told you ran off, and I'm worried. I'm scared and I'm worried about you." He choked out. "It's cold outside, I've got my car. Just tell me where you are and I'll pick you up. We can go to my place if you want." |

While sobbing softly she felt the phone in her hand vibrated it bring her her back to reality. She looked at ID, It was Claus. She cant tell if he got good timing, or it was terrible. Without thinking she picked up the call, and listen to the voice on the other end. She stayed silent still as he talked, holding onto the phone tightly. She finally response, her emotions were over falling. "C-Claus? ... I'm by the lake..." Her voice was soft almost a whisper. "But you wouldn't believe me if I told you what wrong..." Tears were starting to fall again, "Nobody will understand...the monsters... the blood... my... mother." She was holding back tears at this point. Nobody going to believe her, doctor think it was from a biological weapon that made her memories loopy from a terrorist attack. But she doesn't cares about those lies. She knew what she saw, and she will never forget it. For as long as she lives. "I'll be waiting." She said after a few long moments of silence, and hang up. She wonder if he will show up like he says. Edited by Vagabond, Jan 8 2014, 08:51 PM.

He sighed a breath of relief as Lyra answered the phone. By the lake. She was by the lake. But he wouldn't believe her, she said... Monsters? Claus's heart raced, and he knew exactly what she was talking about. "I'll be there shortly." He said, pained to hear her sobs. Within minutes, the orange Mini Cooper pulled in to the park's roadway, off to the side, and the blonde man yanked a heavy blanket from the trunk before locking the vehicle and running off towards the lake. Lyra had seen things he hoped she never would have had to. Eventually the girl with the Flaxen Hair came into view, and, despite the current state of affairs, his heart fluttered at her appearance. The man ran up to her and huged her tight, his eyes scanning for the familiar chain that was assosiated with what he feared. Throwing the large blanket around her, he hugged her closer. "It'll be alright." He cooed, partially for himself and partially for the young woman in his arms. "Tell me what happened. I'll listen." |

She bite her lips as he spoke, her head felt lighter as she thought back of that terrible night. The mess, the ticking, her legs ached as she remember the terrible run from those monsters. Her tears fell yet again staining the cement, and she dropped her phone to grabbed her head, trying in vain to let go of vision of that night. She screamed not out of fear but at the massive screw up at telling Claus about this fuck up situation, he won't know what wrong with her, she might be fucking insane like she sounds. She rests her arms on her knees and cups her face with her hands, she sat like silently for long minutes. Than suddenly she felt something soothingly warm enveloping her, it was a blanket, and than a body wrapped around her on top of the blanket. It was nice warmth. She looked towards the warmth, and seen the face of Claus. Did he care? He must if he wasting his time on her. "Claus...?" She said with hoarse tone. "It'll be alright." ... "It'll be alright, Lyra dear...Please be strong for daddy and yourself." Why, why must this happened to her? Mother, Claus. She started to tear up, than she spoke up. "T-thank you Claus..." She said holding aback sobs, she was terrible person why is he wasting his time with her? she tilted her head closer to his chest. "I will sound completely insane to you..." He said to him. |

This was insanity. That would be all so easy to say and to blindly believe. But yet the flaxen hair of that woman who looked like her mother, was the only reason she couldn't deny what she saw. She needed to know what happened, but yet she going insane trying piece it together. She wanted answers, crying like a damn child will not get her any answers. She needed to rewind her memories back to that terrible night. It is so warm being in someone arms. She breath out slowly, calming her shot nerves. she gulped trying to gather the right words to not make her sound insane. How long has it been showing such honesty? Eh, you really are a terrible person. "I went to the hospital before it got destroyed...I caught a cold." The easy part was done. "I fell asleep in a room, I wondered what the loud noise outside the room was, I now know what it was." She continued. "And when I woken up...the door was lock by somethinh heavy blocking it...I gotten after a while...And that that when I seen the blood on the floor and the halls were dark the only sound was a ticking a clock." She slowed down trying her best to remember every detail. "Than a hooded figure came out of the dark, the ticking, it was maddening, but it left with no words nor actions...I think it wanted to tell me something, but I can't piece it together." She remember what was only beginning of the nightmare. "That was only the beginning of that terrible night..." She trailed off, she was shaking back on the monster doctor and nurses. |
