Name: Zeke Matsuda Age: 18 Gender: Male School/Occupation: Independant. Works full time as a delivery-boy for various foods, goods, etc. Clubs: None. Interests/Hobbies: Zeke likes to exercise, alot, and is a firm believer in maintaining both his body and his mind. He can often be found doing Parkour/Freerunning for his physical needs. He is also interested in analysis and data collection, on both a social and structural level. His job in life also facilitates this, and is one reason why he's so comfortable financially (or as comfortable as someone can be in Japan's economy, haha!) Appearance: Zeke is tall (6'1") but unlike his adolescent days, he's fleshed out his body to eliminate his gangly-ness. Very physically fit, he is toned and lithe, but not quite strong or buff (not like a powerlifter who can bench 400, but a yoga practitioner who can hold their own body weight with ease). His mixed heritage gives him dark grey eyes, while his hair is a very light brown. He generally colors it, to have dark roots and the length of it blonde. His hair is medium-length, and somewhat spiky, but manageable and kempt for his age. His skin is fair, nearing clear, but marred in a few places by faded scars (from falls, injuries, etc., which he wears proudly). His eyes give him the distinct Japanese look, but the rest of his features look as if they are caught in between that and Caucasian features. Zeke dresses very casually, and as such, crisp button-up shirts and polo's occasionally, and soft slacks in both occasions. He rarely wears jeans, disliking the feel of the denim, and when he is exercising, he wears simple track pants or baggy cargo sweats. His shoes for the casual look are usually "boat shoes", while exercising he prefers running shoes and occasionally forefoot-running shoes. Personality: Zeke is very down-to-earth, honest, and occasionally tries to find humor openly in dire situations, though he does consider himself a master-of-the-banter, something he picked up from his parents. He doesn't hide his emotions well, but he loves to analyze situations that are challenging, whether he decides to stick around or not. He does feel invincible sometimes, but will generally try to do what's best for the team, and feels very good when folks say they can depend on him. Rationality (not so much logic), is important to him. When using his persona and abilities, he becomes very business-like in providing support and analysis, and often evokes his parent's military-style language, not because he likes it, but because the language itself is based upon clarity and ease-of-understanding. History: Zeke is an only-child, both his parents being in the JASDF (Japanese Air Self Defense Force). Unlike most military brats, he didn't have to travel much, because, well, you know, Japan being in other countries militarily is frowned upon. Either way, his childhood was normal, if not a bit nerdy. His mother worked in the intelligence field, while his father was in battle management aboard an AWACS, so they never shut the hell up about it. He did pick up on it though, and so far as he stayed focused in school, his parents made a deal with him that he could do whatever he wanted after high school. Zeke was quick to take advantage of that. While in secondary school, he began to focus on matching his physical form to his mental form, and with the guide and mentorship of his father (who was a gym buff), Zeke began to explore physical training. His mother, on the other hand, often helped him with self-study, and though she would have preferred him go to college, she was just happy to see her son taking a keen interest in the development of his happiness. After graduating secondary school, Zeke got a job on the local economy. Though initially his friends teased about his delivery jobs, they noticed he was making more than he should have been, but he never divulged why. He learned that being a delivery boy also meant doing courier jobs, and information gathering, by way of rumor or observation. THAT was what payed the big money, and it was by learning other people's secrets and habits that he could sell the information to those who wanted it. For him though, he just simply enjoys living life, and always being busy with stuff. Weapons/Equipment/Combat Skill: Zeke's fighting capabilities are generally limited to self-defense and, preferably, escaping. He defends well, and can take alot, but does not pack much power in his strikes. In a one-on-one fight, he will try and tire out his opponent, counting on his physical endurance and agility/nimbleness/flexibility to parry and passively-counter. When fighting with allies, he might deliver hit-and-run strikes, depending on the need. Due to his exercise and parkour training, he happens to be very good when manipulating poles, and if he ever has to use a weapon, a rod or pole would be his choice. Initial Persona: Zeke's Persona is named Quaerere (latin for "Seeker"). Quaerere has a humanoid appearance, but is very tall, and instead of legs, the torso terminates at what looks like a giant radome, which is always spinning. The persona appears as a bright glowing form of electrical blues, whites, and occasionally flashes red in some places. The head of Quaerere looks like a sensor box with a visor over the eyes and a thin mouth, and its gender is ambiguous. The arms of the body span with antennas and communication dishes, the hands terminating as sensor lenses as well. The back and chest of the persona are also covered with small radomes, antennas, dishes, etc.. When used for analysis, Quaerere will sometimes kneel down with Zeke, and extend a sort of display to him, speaking with him about the situation, analysis, etc. - Name: Quaerere - Arcana: Hierophant - Drain: - - Reflect: - - Null: - - Resist: - - Weak: - - Initial Skills: Sukukaja, Analysis, Patra, Frei Roleplay Sample: "Oh honestly now, that's a big fuckin' gap!" said Zeke, the sunset to his back as he and his friend looked down the alley between the buildings. They both stood on the taller one, the edge of the roof having a slight concrete raise, and no "anti-suicide-break" below it to prevent a hapless uni-rejection from ending it all like a bird with no wings. "Don't be a puss" his friend said, about a year more experienced in this than he was. He took some steps back, looking thoughtful as he considered the distance, the fall, the landing, the wind, etc.. Zeke simply stood to the side, his arms crossed as his friend took about fifteen seconds before grinning and leaping off the ledge. Though the jump looked ungraceful, the landing was anything but. The first thing to make contact with the roof below was the forefeet of his friend. But this was but for an instant. The movement continued as the friend brought his momentum forward so that they could keep moving, somersaulting into a forward roll to dissipate the energy from the fall before it focused entirely on his feet and legs, which would have lead to injury. The roll was lengthy but successful, and the friend stood up, throwing his hands up in a quick cheer as he turned and looked up toward Zeke. He stepped off to the side and made a motion for him to do it. "Trust me man, its fine. It's a one-roller" he said. Zeke nodded, sighing heavily. He'd done alot, but this was his first. But wasn't that life? Wasn't it diving all in the first time? Taking chances? So far it had worked, and as he took his steps back and looked toward the ledge, he realized that maybe the reason it all worked out was because he had a purpose in life he had yet to fulfill. As he sprinted toward the ledge and jumped, he took comfort in believing that... |

"...does this clockwork hand follow you... or guide you?"

Approved, although I will say that judging from your RP sample, you should take better care with grammer. I'd also prefer that things like "etc." not be used in prose narration, because that just looks awkward. (In those parts of writing it's better to write it out at "et cetera." Abbreviations can look sloppy in dialogue or narration.) |
