Name: Paula "Usagi" Fujimoto

Age: 17

Gender: Female

School/Occupation: Student, Kasuhayashi 3-D Classroom; Part time worker at Strings and Things Costume store.

Clubs: Sewing (Founder), Boxing

Interests/Hobbies: Fashion and other 'trendy' topics draw Paula's curiosity, but they're really a shallow and quick way of exploring her actual interest: human relation. Paula enjoys any chance of interacting with others and often tries to visit social occasions and clubs, despite it uniformly ending in cold feet and acting the part of a wall flower unless approached.

Beyond observing how people interact and trying her hand at it herself, Paula has a deep and abiding love of cosplay, stemming from her skill at sewing and the freedom and creativity she feels it grants her. More than that, it offers her an identity to hide behind and a conversation piece to flaunt. Sewing itself bears repeating- besides being her part-time job, it's Paula's preferred way of passing the time. Initially something she picked up just so she could make personalized, hand-crafted gifts, she took to making pieces based off people, places and events.

Outside that, she has a surprisingly healthy interest in the horror genre of fiction, but doesn't stick to other hobbies too long.

Appearance: When not in a costume or following a popular trend around town, Paula's outfit is usually a simple piece with white and black coloring. Long white pencil skirt over loose black pants and shoes, a black turtleneck sweater, and white long-sleeved coat left unzipped. To add a splash of color or style, she wears ribbons, scarves, and even ties, her favorite being an orange and black diagonally striped tie with a skeleton filling the space. Notably, all of her outfit is self-made, marked with what she considers her 'logo'- a tiny, chibified rabbit's head inspired by her nickname.

Paula herself is towering in height, broad shouldered with slightly lanky limbs, her 6'7" frame being another source for her self-consciousness. She has a surprisingly good figure beneath her heavy clothing, mitigated by poor posture and to a lesser extent her pale complexion. Her long, dark hair hangs down past her shoulders like a curtain, neat and straight. She has brown eyes, a small nose, and the faintest of tiny dots across her cheeks to break up her plain, rainy composure. Paula forgoes lipstick or other makeup, but can often be found wearing a hint of a different inexpensive perfume each day. Her hands and fingers are often covered in small band-aids from nicks and blisters.

The way she carries herself also bears mentioning. She has a noticeable slouch at any given time, a habit she cultivated to reduce the impact her height has on first impressions. The only time she stands tall is when she's in a hurry or in company she's become comfortable enough in to straighten out to her full stature. Her expression tends to glaze over into a neutral thoughtfulness when listening that could be mistaken for incomprehension at a passing glance. Usually she sports a focused look when sewing and what resembles a 'hang-dog' stare when not doing anything in particular.

Personality: Lonely, meek, and self-conscious at her core, Paula's ultimate goal is to fit in wherever she can. She follows popular trends passionately as a way to involve herself with others, and even uses her keen eye for details to notice people's mannerisms and tendencies so she can adopt them as her own, though her enthusiasm and mimicry are met with mixed results at best.

In execution, her normally polite and quiet behavior suddenly giving way to thin copies of her potential friend or a list of the traits she believes might mesh well with them serves only to unsettle those around her- assuming her lack of presence doesn't cause their attention to drift away before it can get to that point. Failure only causes her to withdraw further and spend more time thinking of how to 'fix' her behavior.

For all her efforts, it's times when her attention is not focused on making friends that she becomes easy to approach and converse with. She has a naturally sweet (if often self-defeating and downtrodden) demeanor that is mixed with a passion for her hobbies and a generally warm disposition. She is quick to apologize for anything she might conceive as overstepping her boundaries and slow to anger.

Sadly, this is often overridden by her only desire outstripping her need to make friends: keeping them. She inevitably falls into her bad habits to try and analyze what they like and what makes them tick, becoming a sort of overly agreeable yes-woman and bordering on creepily obsessive towards whatever interests they have. She deeply fears displeasing the people close to her and often winds up a doormat in any given connection.

That's not to say she's completely hopeless. Her desire to change isn't just to appeal to others, but in the hopes of bettering herself. Her low confidence and her failures in any field simply spur her on to improve and learn, even if she often takes away the wrong lesson from a situation. This keeps the self-destructive possibilities of her behavior in check (to an extent) and has kept her out of bad crowds in the past. Her search for company also carries some standards with it- better a reliable and genuine companion over a group of fair-weather friends.

Above all that is a humanitarian streak. She won't go to lengths to solve every problem and doesn't feel responsible for others, but she isn't afraid to offer a shoulder to cry on or to stand up to a bully- even if that bully was someone she was trying to impress not long ago. Her tendency to pick up on other people's habits and personalities has, in a roundabout way, made her overly-empathic to the plights of others. Her friends are very much people to her, not possessions like to some who are so dead set on getting others to adore them.

At her best, Paula is empathic, polite, analytical, and enthusiastic. At her worst, Paula is clingy, submissive, silent, and nervous.

History: With loving parents, a sunny disposition and a stable home life, Paula's childhood would have been an unremarkable and happy one if not for one thing: her height. As a young girl, she carried an overbearing posture and forcefully energetic personality that, in combination with her stature, intimidated those around her. Unaware of the effect she had on the other kids, she unintentionally scared many of her classmates into complying with her apparent wants- always playing the games she wanted, talking about what she was interested in, and paying attention to her.

Paula continued this way for some time, unaware that her classmates treating her as her parents did was anything unusual, until one put their foot down. The resulting scuffle and her friends seemingly turning to the side of the person she saw as bullying her stung more than the bruises she had gotten, and learning the reason cut her deeply. She became an introvert, reluctant to say or do much of anything involving other children, and growing steadily jealous as her isolation started to wear on her. While she did eventually explain herself to the other kids and earn some forgiveness, the damage to her confidence had been done.

Over the years that followed, Paula attracted a circle of friends with her soft and considerate demeanor. The group were close to a second family for the lonely girl, who slowly began to come out of her shell through their influence and constant company. Sadly, life intervened as they entered their teens, and one by one the group drifted apart for various reasons- family moving to a new city in search of more lucrative work, relatives insisting they focus on their studies, simple falling outs, and so on. By the end of it, Paula was alone again, despite her best efforts to keep in touch.

Entering the world of highschool did little to help. Her grades were never the best, and study demanded most of her time during the first year that would have been used to form connections to others. What time she spent in school clubs and activities was unfruitful in drawing in people like she had once done before. It wouldn't be until late in the year that she'd come up with ideas on how to 'fix' herself, which led to who she is today.

Weapons/Equipment/Combat Skill: While she lacks any real experience with a weapon or professional training, Paula was taught the basics of boxing by her father when he mistook her initial depression (and the bruises that came with it) as a sign of bullying. Though she enjoyed the mild empowerment it gave her at the time, in recent years she turned her attention away from the sport to focus on her hobby of sewing, in small part because she believed it to be a less intimidating talent. Rusty as she is, however, she still remembers the basics and has plenty of weight to put behind each punch if ever she is forced into a scenario where she must fight.

Initial Persona: Mostly referred to as 'The Creature', Frankenstein's Monster was created by a scientist named Victor Frankenstein in the book 'Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus' by Mary Shelly. An artificial man made of dead body parts, larger and stronger than most, its shambling and moaning terrified its creator enough to send him fleeing the family estate in which he created him.

The Creature was left without guidance or even a name from his creator, and his attempts at integrating himself with the people around him failed miserably because of his appearance (not rotting like most modern depictions, but 'too perfect' in that he appeared more like a living statue than a real person).

It wasn't long before the endless terror and hate aimed in his direction made him long for revenge against his 'father', soon escalating into a cycle of revenge that would end in the deaths of both. Victor died from the strain of chasing the creature across the globe, and The Creature committed suicide afterwards out of guilt and the realization his anger twisted him into the monster people believed him to be.

As a persona, Frankensten's Monster takes the form of an 8 ft. tall human, towering over even Paula herself. Handsome at a glance, subtle quirks ruin his carefully chosen features. His movements are a tad stiff, his skin just a bit too pale, his blue eyes are dimmed, and his smile a little too curled. Hidden beneath his collar and clothing are the faint marks of stitching, a pair of silver spheres sitting at the base of his neck being the most noticeable flaw. The longer one stares the more these features seem to weigh on the mind, until he seems nothing more than a statue- or a fresh corpse- doing a poor imitation of a human being.

Time will tell for how long and how deeply his story will be connected to Paula's.
