"..." Truth be told, Akuro was caught off-guard by how antisocial Nao was. She blinked, as if coming out of a daydream and looked to Jun. "What's up with that guy?" she asked. Looking back to Nao, she saw another girl was approaching the antisocial student. Akuro felt a pang of pity for the newcomer, expecting Nao to be just as unfriendly to her as he was to Akuro and Jun. |

Did he look like he needed something? Oh yes, a couple of lessons in manners at least. He didn't let the facade of moderate friendliness slip. Instead he just shrugged his shoulders and kept walking. "I can't say I really care. No sense wasting any more time with it." They were all going the same way, He'd given the bare minimum of politeness and no matter how it was met with? It was totally acceptable for him to totally brush the other boy off. |

Nao closed his eyes for a moment as he walked, and sighed out to himself. It would be almost impossible to skip school that day, as he couldn't hide out in the roof - chances were it would be soaked with all that rain, and he wouldn't have a good time. Instead, he started to consider the library as a possible destination, should he be able to sneak into it during lunch break and stay hidden past the bell's ring. But first, they all had to go to the auditorium, located in the ground floor of the main building. What a drag. Maybe he could take a seat in the back and nap for a short while, as well as hopefully not be smacked in the head again by his homeroom teacher. That also reminded him he needed to check classroom assignments. "Just great..." Resigning himself to his very boring fate, the boy finally opened his eyes. It was just in time to halt his already slow pace and prevent himself from smacking against a first year, judging by her ribbon, whom decided to act as a barrier in front of his path. As he was about to move around and go on his way, she spoke up. "Hello." Wow, people were awfully chatty today. Normally they knew better than to engage Nao, as he had gained quite the reputation for being extremely antisocial throughout his first year; to be fair, it surely saved him from a lot of trouble. Rika's smile didn't seem to phase the teenager at all, and his most noticeable reaction at her question was a mere blink. "No, I am not." Nao decided to give the girl the benefit of the doubt. Given her ribbon color, she probably didn't know anything about different years' accessory colors. "The color of my tie denotes I'm a second year. Anyone with a tie or a ribbon akin to mine belong to such a year as well. From your color, I'd say you're first year, and you're the new one." Hopefully, that was a good introduction of the school's policy without sounding awfully friendly. "I don't know what gave you that impression, nor do I care. What do you want?" Rika looked at the other boy with curiosity, who had started explaining about the different colors of all of the ties and ribbons that everyone wore on their uniforms. Apparently, the color of the tie or ribbon(it couldn't be both, Rika thought) represented what year each individual student was in. She looked around and saw that other students' ties and ribbons were indeed different colors. She then turned back to the boy. "Is that why everybody's ties and ribbons are so different? Huh. I didn't know that." Rika said in flat realization, then shrugged and smiled again, returning to her usual cheerful mood. "I just thought you kinda looked like a new student, like me, really. Then again, I could probably use an older student to show me around." Rika bowed happily to the older boy. "My name's Rika Sakei, and I'm from Tokyo." She said, enthusiastically and confidently. "It's nice to meet you!" |

Akuro frowned. "Oh, that poor girl..." she said sadly. "She has no idea what she's in for..." She glared at the boy as berated Rika. What an asshole! Someone needed to straighten this guy out- but she didn't want to do it. The boy scared her a little- he was cold, impersonal. To Akuro, that was very intimidating. |

Sosuke Uchida walked by himself. His black umbrella the same way, all to himself. Eyes forward, burning a metaphorical hole into whatever was in front of him. It came with how intense the boy seemed, he supposed. Not that the intensity was a bad thing. No, not in the slightest sense. He walked swiftly, with purpose. Plans and ideas formulating in his head already. He had to organize a campaign, get people to help him with it. Not even he could run a candidacy by himself. As he walked in this dreary, boring weather he saw two people underneath the same umbrella. A young man and a young woman. For an instant or two, he thought that they might even be a romantic couple. Except that physical posture spoke otherwise. They definitely didn't seem comfortable enough around each other for it to be that. The boy was the one actually holding the umbrella, so he could only deduce that the girl had forgot her own. So, was she an airhead, or was it a one time thing? Now was a good time to start spreading the word, garnering support for the yet to be announced student council election. So he approached the two, a twinge of a smile on his face. As he got closer to the pair, he recognized them as familiar faces from last year. Excellent, that at least meant they would knew how he operated. No wait, there was another pair just inside the gate. One he recognized as Naozumi Yamashita. The other, he had absolutely no idea. First year, so it wasn't that surprising. He had to suppress the smile from growing. Now was a perfect time to make a public display and gain the admiration of the student populace. "Excuse me." He then sidestepped the first pair and swiftly swiped his identification card. Stepping into the gate he cleared his throat, looking to gain the attention of both Naozumi and the unknown first year. "Apologies for the interruption ma'am, but i'm afraid Yamashita-san doesn't care much for speaking to anyone. I'm sure myself, or someone else can assist you with whatever you might need." Just the right vocal tone. One of total patient indifference, which was needed to show how he was placating the both of them. Not taking a side, and attempting to have a positive outcome for both parties involved. He gave a wordless nod to Naozumi. As if trying to tell the boy that he could carry on about his own business without any further interferences. The other two right now, served as witnesses. He was counting on word of mouth to spread about the incident, and how he so gallantly swooped in to diffuse the situation. Positive publicity like this would do fantastic for his campaign, and he knew it. "Oh i'm sorry, I seem to have left my proper manners at home. The name is Sosuke Uchida, pleased to meet you. Now why don't we speak to the nice pair over there hmm? I'm sure the three of us can help you in some fashion." He gestured to the pair behind them with the twinge of a smile still on his face. Good publicity so early on, even before the student council election had been announced was sure to give him some sort of head start. Edited by Exodin, Apr 14 2014, 02:17 PM.

"No, nothing at all." He said, rather flatly and turned away, eyes forward. He didn't see just what Akuro was so worried about, from what he'd noticed, Nao seemed to have taken the path of least resistance and been actually helpful to the clueless girl. He'd probably have treated Uchida-san more harshly than her. politics weren't an especially interesting subject to most. He just wanted to get inside to the relative warmth and dryness, at that moment, so Jun didn't really invest much thought into that sort of thing. If anything, he was glad to see Uchida was there to attract all the attention of the girls who were just into a guy for looks alone. |

By the mention of needing an older student to show her around, Nao automatically assumed Rika was subtly suggesting for him to do so - he had asked her right out what she wanted from him, after all. However, he wasn't minimally interested in doing so, and there were most likely dozens of other students far more willing to jump at the fresh meat than he. "Good luck with that." He spoke blandly, not even bothering to feign concern over the situation. "You'll probably catch the lot of them standing in front of the classroom assignment sheets in the main building, or in any team you join." Please, not Home Economics. The second year didn't introduce himself at all in return. "Okay." The name mentioned left his brain at the speed of a thousand miles per hour; such was customary with anyone that he wasn't particularly fond of. Just as he was about to ditch the girl by walking around her, however, someone he very vaguely recognized - at least, he seemed to know Naozumi's name - decided to waltz into the scene and make the party his own. His eyebrow raised so slightly in mild annoyance as the boy went on, his head held high. Since he didn't remember suddenly becoming some sort of social magnet, nor there being a reason for Sosuke to approach the conversing pair at all, as from his approach he didn't know the girl at all, he was probably employing the typical tactic of 'stealing the kill', while using Nao's antisocial reputation against him, making him look like the bad guy. He had no idea why Sosuke wanted that attention, nor did he care; he wasn't going to be an accessory to someone else's success. If they wanted it so, they could attain it themselves. "I don't remember saying I needed you to speak for me." He stated towards his classmate, whom he couldn't remember the name. He just barely recalled seeing his face every now and then throughout the past year. "The conversation was going just fine. Mind your own business." Then again, picking an argument right on the first hour of school sounded endlessly tiresome. "Good luck with all that white-knighting, I'm done here." He spoke a final time, before circling around Rika and aiming towards the main building again, across the many courtyards. Now, he definitely needed that nap... |

Rika looked confused as the boy responded to her request. He didn't really seem the slightest bit interested in helping her get acquainted to her completely new school. She frowned a small frown at the boy when he didn't introduce himself in return. Really, it was one thing to refuse to be helpful but the least he could've done was return the good manners. Oh well. She wasn't going to let one little slight spoil her good mood. It was at that moment that another boy came by and spoke to Rika. He appeared to be quite attractive, he could say. And he was polite. And willing to help her around the school. That much was certainly true. Now he was better. Rika smiled when the other boy introduced himself as Sousuke Uchida. "Nice to meet you, Sousuke-kun. I'm Rika Sakei." She introduced herself, smiling. Sousuke then gestured over to a couple walking under an umbrella together, suggesting she and him join them. Guess she could go with that. She had to admit, the boy was really nice. "Sure, thing." She said, then proceeded to follow the boy towards the couple. |

Akuro blinked, confused. "What is going on...?" she muttered to herself. Were they trying to hit on the first year girl? She couldn't quite tell what they were saying, and moved closer to figure out what was going on. |
