Comprehension dawned on his face and he nodded, smiling fully now. "Yes, like my Father wouldn't ask another where he had deployed his attached to in other districts, because he wouldn't give that information away himself. Bad form, to ask for information of a type you're not willing to share." Dominic relaxed another notch, finally daring to hope that he could do this. With that thought he realized that he wanted to do this, was eager in fact. He pushed his hair behind his ears and leaned against the back of the chair. "Ok, so what's next?" |

"Secondly be careful what you give others permission to do, be careful what you agree to." She smiled at him again before continuing. "Not everyone means you harm but even the nicest can take things literally. The wrong thing said you might find yourself dancing your life away or a elf walking away with your heart in her hands. There's no harm in asking for clarifications though some might act like it." She let her eyes scan the room again before continuing. "This is of course not to say that there aren't those who will do things without your permission, it's just to say that even the nice ones take it for granted you mean what you say and will stand by it. Or that they won't be willing to make you." Edited by Jimson, Aug 3 2012, 02:34 AM.

A chill settled around him and his smile slipped a bit. "Ok... so that's what Telsa meant." He sighed, leaning forward and reaching for the bottle of wine. "I guess I do have some good luck after all, that it was you I made the mistake with and not someone else." He watched the deep red liquid as it filled the glass, and off hand spoke. "This is my family's wine, I used to have it with every meal. Then, for all those long years I wasn't able to have a drop." He twirled the glass in his fingertips, watching the play of the golden firelight off the glass. He drank deeply. "Now, in this most unlikely of places, I find it again. A small delight it may seem to others, but to me it makes things more bearable." He shook his head as he turned his face back to her again. "So, next topic?" |

"Then food should be the next topic. Your best bet is to not eat or drink anything while there. Much of it is enchanted and I've heard that non-fae are often left feeling that normal food tastes like ash after that." With a giggle she held up a white skinned apple. "Besides that the fruit can intoxicate and the wine can drown inhibition." She went to bite into the apple and it disappeared just as her teeth would have pierced it's flesh. "There are things safe to eat if you have some one you can trust to point them out to you. And some of the more intoxicating things are safe as long as you have someone you trust to keep you safe, but as a diplomat you can't afford to take that risk." A laugh this time and she leaned forward. "You must have questions; so ask," |

"Yes, the least risk possible is our best bet, without doubt." He shook his head, unsure what to ask first. He was avoiding speaking of his own curse, though he knew it would be unfair to take on this task without being honest with her about it. Still, it wasn't an easy thing to talk about and he wasn't sure how to bring up the subject. "The way you... change, is that common? Would I talk to Henry one minute and a little later be talking to Henrietta without realizing it? And if so, is there anyway for me to know?" |

At first it didn't seem like she had heard him then she turned her head to look back at him. "There aren't many others like me in the world, so that shouldn't be too much of a worry. Doppelgangers is the most common name I think. Even when one is trying to look like someone else you can always tell it's them because they haven't changed who they are. " With a laugh she cocked her head to the side. "A lot of Fae tend to fall into categories that inspired the stories. Elves, goblins, ogres, fairies and some just don't quite seem to fit anything else. " Her smile widened as another thought came to mind. "You said that's your families wine, do you know how to make it?" |

"Of course." He seemed surprised she would ask. "The winery was where I often could be found when I was skipping out on what were considered more important lessons. All of the family learned, but I made an art of it." He laughed, a bit sadly. "There is a private family label, never sold, that I developed. That I haven't had since... well, since I had to leave. But this is almost as good. I'm thankful that this, at least, can be provided." |

She watched him closely although as sadness crept into his voice her smile faded as well. "Maybe one day soon you can go back to doing the things that make you happy. " She considered his words shifting slightly in her chair to get more comfortable. " It's always difficult being away from the things you recognize." Her mind seemed to pick up on something else and she seemed to perk up for a moment. "Did you name your wines?" |

"Yes, I did," he nodded with a smile. "Luna di Susina. Roughly it would translate to Plum Moonlight. Of course, had it been marketed that would not have been allowed, Italian wines have very strict labeling guidelines. But as it was private, I could get away with it." He laughed softly. "Father said it was an egotistical display, but my Mother encouraged him to allow it." He shrugged and sighed. |

"I've always wondered what it was like to have a family I didn't choose." For a moment she seemed blissfully lost in thought and then she was back as if a switch had been turned. "Do you have any other questions? Anything else you want to know? And most importantly Will you be coming with me?" The smile she gave hinted at something and just before he spoke she held up a hand to interrupt. "Will you be coming with me, this time?"

Dominic smiled and laughed softly. "I might have more questions later, and if something comes up along the way hopefully there will be a chance to ask your advice." His expression grew more grave, and he drew a deep breath, looking away. He stared at the fire that blazed merrily at the far end of the room. "But you should know something, Charlotte. I don't know if it will matter or not, but in case it does, well... It wouldn't be fair for you to go in without knowing." He forced his gaze back to her, his eyes haunted now. "The reason I'm here, in Sanctuary. I was being hunted, by my own people. And by that I don't mean just my family, I mean that any werewolf of honour would likely take much pleasure in killing me on sight." He paused, then made himself go on. "I'm cursed, Charlotte. I no longer have my wolf form." |

"No matter what you've lost it doesn't matter to me and likely won't matter to the Queen. You are still you, And I see nothing about you deserving of a curse." The statement was delivered surprisingly light hearted and with a undercurrent of support. "I can understand being hunted. The last time I had to deal with the Court of Beasts I made a mistake, and ended up here." She gave him a weak smile. "and I've been gone long enough from the Court of Hearths I might be in trouble there too. So coming with me is not the safest thing to do." |

Dominic's gaze grew distant again, charged with pain. He shook his head, the words a soft whisper. "Oh, I deserved it. I hope to find redemption, but that doesn't change the fact, I did deserve it." His smile when he focused on her face again was slight and soft, and he nodded. "So, we'll just deal with it all together then. And, for this time," he smiled more fully, "I will be glad to accompany you to your Court." |

"I hope this bodes well for the situation." Telsa's voice was lyrical if a bit tired. Her fingers trailed through the wolf's thick black fur as he moved in step beside her. "The boy is sleeping, I worked another healing but I'm still concerned." Taking a seat at the end of the table, the wolf moving to lay at her feet, she idly glanced at the folder of information on Thorisson. "I'll explain things to him in bits and pieces, and only let him awaken for short times over the next day or so. It's going to be hard for him, it always is for mortals and especially those with no knowledge about the true ways of the world." She sighed, pushing the folder away and leaning back in the chair and briefly closing her eyes. "You can get a copy of all of that information from Thomas, he has extras." When she opened her eyes she let her gaze move from one to another, pursing her lips slightly and shaking her head. "I wish I didn't have to ask you to do this, I'd much rather be able to ascertain your safety myself. But chance has dictated otherwise, and this is too important to not pursue any avenue for additional information." She propped her elbows on the table, leaning her head forward and tangling her fingers in the thick black curls of her hair. "You know I can't offer free access to Sanctuary, that cannot even be entertained. And I must keep those who have been offered Sanctuary, you two, Jimsonweed, the boy and any others who might arrive, safe and well. But I will at least take other requests into consideration." She brought her head up as she continued. "Make no offers, but let it be known that I will give serious, very serious, thought to requests that are in my power to grant." She sighed, shaking her head. "I truly don't know what that might be, I've told you before Charlotte that I've learned never to think I know what to expect from the Fae. But make clear that Thorisson gaining access to Sanctuary will upset an ancient balance, and that I must protect that balance at all costs." |

Charlotte was about to say something else to Dominic when Telsa interrupted and immediately the fae's attention shifted. She processed the information carefully before speaking."I can do that." Then she gave out a strange, soft, fluttering laugh. "Do you have a specific message you want delivered or should I just speak as needed?" She tapped a quick rhythm on the side of the chair while carefully watching Telsa move. "And do I have anything to bargain with other than just the possibility of reciprocation?" "You'll be the one speaking to them, do as you see best. And I don't know if your Queen will consider it reciprocating, but if things go well, and particularly if the information you are able to garner helps us defeat Thorisson, then of course that would go a long way towards releasing you from your bond to Sanctuary." |

Charlotte shrugged and rolled her eyes. "Very well, I'll do what I can." Then a smile crossed her lips again. "Within the bounds of our agreements of course." With no warning Charlotte hopped out of the chair and onto her feet. For the briefest of moments the skirt she wore swayed of it's own accord just like her hair. "Is there anything you need to grab before we go Dominic? I would like to get there before lunch. It'd be better if I didn't have to explain I wasn't bringing another entree." |

"Thomas will open the door for you," Telsa gestured towards the shadows cast by the curve of the staircase, "and lead you down to the caverns. I'll see you when you return." Telsa turned to head to her rooms, calling back over her shoulder. "And Dominic, listen to her carefully." Dominic rose up slowly, glancing down at the black slacks and white shirt he wore then shrugging. "Unless you think of something I should be taking, then I suppose I'm ready now." |

"I can think of some things you should be taking, but none of it is so it's moot." With a laugh she danced towards the indicated door only to be let in and then practically skip down the stairs. "But we'll fix that problem when we get to the other side.." Delicate fingers ran along the walls as they descended and for a split second Charlotte turned back to look at Dominic with the bright fire opal eyes practically glowing from the shadows. "Are you ready for this?" |

Dominic paused on the stairs, glanced past her to Thomas then smiled when he focused on Charlotte again. "Well, my dear, I suppose I am ready as I will ever be." |
