I will make this pretty much short and clear to everyone. This will be a new battle system that others can use. It will be completely optional. But there will be really, really good things for everyone that uses it. Mods won't have to go over every single encounter that someone gets themselves into. Maybe for the more important battles then that would probably be it. It will be much more friendly on the mods. The members will be able to post faster and just finish out the battle for themselves. Of course, this will be bit of a difficult system to fully implement without some help from others here.

Note: I'm always happy to listen to other people's ideas.

Starting List to think over:

  • Accuracy roll?

    • What to do?
    • What would someone need to roll to hit?
    • Incorporating accuracy values to modify the accuracy role?
    • Contest role? Or must hit a certain dice value or above to hit?
    • Use percentile dice for Accuracy?

  • Attacking Roll?

    • What do?
    • Base Power of a Move equates to what sort of dice being used? Possibly a Power-range = Certain amount of dice?

  • Dodging Roll?

    • What do?
    • What would someone need to roll to dodge? Contest role?
    • Defense wins if tie? Attacker wins if tie?

  • Modifiers to the dice-system based on Fatigue and possibly other factors such as boosts in stats

    • Crits?
    • Move mods
    • Aura mods
    • Ability mods
    • Weather mods

  • Environmental Factors

    • What would a field do in terms of effecting moves?
    • Aerial battle?

  • To be filled in

    • N/A


Questions to ponder:

  • What must be included into a dice-based battle system?
  • How should dice rolls be locked in so one cannot change them afterwards?
  • How do we make it so that players don't cheat the system?
  • What other things can be included into this system to keep in mind about?
  • What should not be included?

I've been doing more thinking over the dice-battle system rules. And decided to at least start working on what I would call power-range brackets for moves.

This what it would like for a rough bracket idea.
1-10: 1d10
11-20: 1d10 + 10
21-30: 1d10 + 20
31-40: 1d10 + 30
41-50: 1d10 + 40
51-60: 1d10 + 50
61-70: 1d10 + 60
71-80: 1d10 + 70
81-90: 1d10 + 80
91-100: 1d10 + 90
101-110: 1d10 + 100
111-120: 1d10 + 110
121-130: 1d10 + 120
131-140: 1d10 + 130
141-150: 1d10 + 140
151-160: 1d10 + 150
161-170: 1d10 + 160
